In one of the more stunning reactions to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, former Secretary of State John Kerry is concerned about the “massive emissions consequences.”
Yes, he really said that to a BBC Arabic reporter on Wednesday.
In the clip below, pompous a** Kerry starts by stating his concern for the people of Ukraine, then immediately pivots to his real worry – how the war will divert the world’s focus from climate change.
He appears not to grasp that liberal madness over woke issues like climate change has brought the world to this perilous moment.
Kerry tells the reporter:
I’m very concerned … I’m concerned about Ukraine because of the people of Ukraine and because of the principles that are at risk in terms of international law, and trying to change boundaries of international law by force. I thought we lived in a world that had said no to that kind of activity and I hope diplomacy will win.
But, there are massive emissions consequences to the war. But equally importantly, you’re going to lose people’s focus. You’re going to lose certainly big country attention because they will be diverted and I think we could have a damaging impact.
Hopefully President Putin would realize that in the northern part of his country, they used to live on 66 percent of the nation that was over frozen land.
Now, it’s thawing and his infrastructure is at risk. And the people of Russia are at risk. And so, I hope President Putin will help us to stay on track with respect to what we need to do for the climate.
Memo to John Kerry: You will be crushed to hear that Putin isn’t concerned about the thawing in the northern part of his country at all. In fact, I guarantee you the thought has not even crossed his mind.
As Putin threatens “consequences as you have never before experienced in your history” to anyone who “tries to interfere with us,” which many are interpreting to mean nuclear weapons, this sanctimonious idiot is worried about global warming.
It was the Democrats’ obsession with climate change combined with the weakness Biden projected to the world during the U.S. exit from Afghanistan that emboldened Putin. I posted about this on Thursday. (The Wages of Biden’s Weakness)
The shortage of fossil fuels directly caused by the Biden Administration’s war on the U.S. fossil fuel industry has led to a scarcity of oil and gas. This has driven up prices to prohibitive levels, just as they’d hoped.
But, because oil and gas are the lifeblood of our economy, of any modern economy, it’s also forced Biden to beg OPEC nations to increase their production. This is an astonishing (and humiliating) position for America to be in considering that we had energy independence as recently as a year ago.
During her address to the 2008 Republican National Convention, Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin said, “We do not have a scarcity of resources in America. We have a scarcity of common sense in Washington, D.C.”
The slogan, “Drill, baby, drill,” the takeaway line from Palin’s speech, applies even more today than it did in 2008.
The geniuses who are running NATO don’t know quite what to do because Europe is so dependent on Russian oil, most notably Germany. How did the “best and the brightest” so underestimate Putin?
Are they starting to grasp that their lofty goal of zero emissions is a luxury the world can’t afford? Have they recognized the fact that energy independence is integral to a country’s national security?
Do Americans comprehend how just plain stupid it was for the Biden Administration to cripple the U.S. fossil fuel sector without first establishing a reliable replacement for it?
Kerry’s comments suggest that he hasn’t learned anything from recent events. Hopefully others will make the connection.
As dangerous as the present moment is, it could easily become worse. Perhaps the most frightening aspect of all is the message it’s sending to Chinese President Xi Jinping. Just as Putin recognized there would never be a better time to act on his dream of bringing back the Soviet Union, Xi, our most formidable enemy, understands there may never be a more opportune time to make a move on Taiwan.

What can one even say about these Leftist kooks? But, as absurd as people like Kerry indeed are, Americans keep electing them (or the people who keep appointing them) to make important decisions for America.
John Kerry is a pure disciple of Klaus Schwab. The latter is a blot on the landscape. It is he who has taken us to the depths we are living in and, while I see him advocating that we will be living partly in a
meta world and partly in a real world under the aegis of those who are currently making out they are the creators of the real world he obviously has not got the cojones to tell those who have snaffled all the wealth of the realm exactly how he intends to divest them of their ill-gotten gains, this would make good reading. My bet is that the rich will not be quite so keen on the quality of their lifestyle. It’s always the same.Nobody with anything wants to give up their own lifestyle no matter what advantages by way of money, health, looks whatever they have in abundance yet advice and threats to others are readily available.
It’s gotten nuts. But it seems to me the world is starting to realize what’s happening. People are starting to call them out and that chorus seems to be growing stronger by the day. I see more and more people talking about the Great Reset and no one, except for the insiders, think it’s a good idea. … The backlash is coming.
