Here’s a brief query to those who don’t miss Trump: In this really what you wanted?
You though Donald was too crude, crass and arrogant to serve a second term.
You were perturbed, even disgusted, by his rude tweets.
Some supporters of former President George W. Bush were put-off when he made fun of Jeb Bush during the 2016 election campaign, including George. Trump lacked civility, they said.
When Trump became the Republican nominee in 2016, FOX’s Dana Perino said, on air, that she wasn’t sure she’d be a Republican after the election.
A handful of Republican U.S. Senators (e.g., Mittens Romney) and a few Republican members of the House (e.g., ‘Liz’ Cheney, Adam Kinzinger) remained critical of Trump throughout his term. Others offered tepid support, at most.
The leading cadre of the liberal media (WaPo, NYT, MSNBC, NBC, CBS, ABC, CNN, et.al.) kept up a steady drum beat on Trump’s alleged collusion with Putin, and shamelessly continue today to defend their years of lies.
Meanwhile, the overwhelmingly liberal academe – more so in the major universities but spreading deeper into K-12 public education – continue to beat the mantra of “woke” thinking clothed in socialist dogma.
The direct responsibility for what happened in Afghanistan, and now Ukraine, rests not just with the Taliban and Putin, but with all those who willingly traded an effective barbarian, whom they personally disliked and deemed unfit for America’s high office, for a brain-addled, legacy member of The Swamp, prone all his long political life to proclaim self-described achievements where few were actually present. Joe is a cardboard cutout for political competency. A sock puppet. His Vice President – a giggling dolt.
As America grows weaker, our adversaries closely watch it happening. Looking for opportunities to take advantage of that weakness.
It’s Harris, Blinken and Joe, in charge now. And the shoe is leaking.
Wynken, Blynken, and Nod one night
Sailed off in a wooden shoe,—
Sailed on a river of crystal light
Into a sea of dew.
“Where are you going, and what do you wish?”
The old moon asked the three.
“We have come to fish for the herring-fish
That live in this beautiful sea;
Nets of silver and gold have we,”
Said Wynken,
Blynken,
And Nod.
…
Wynken and Blynken are two little eyes,
And Nod is a little head,
And the wooden shoe that sailed the skies
Is a wee one’s trundle-bed;
So shut your eyes while Mother sings
Of wonderful sights that be,
And you shall see the beautiful things
As you rock in the misty sea
Where the old shoe rocked the fishermen three:—
Wynken,
Blynken,
And Nod.
