The Embarrassment of My Democrat Friends Isn’t Improving

About a year ago I wrote an article about my Democrat friends. We were barely 2 months into the Harris/Biden administration and they were getting a bit embarrassed about the leadership they had helped foist on the country. My naïve friends had bought into the propaganda that all of the turmoil in Washington was because of Donald Trump. They voted for a return to normalcy. Only two months into this administration, they were embarrassed to see that they had been hoodwinked big time.

The Dems were now in charge of everything, yet the turmoil was greater than ever. Within 2 months of Joe’s inauguration, they could see that a return to normalcy meant a war on oil and gas, transsexuals embraced (figuratively and literally) in the military, and CRT being pushed nationwide. The federal government was officially in the social engineering business. The administration was even working with the social media oligarchs to control the messaging. But what’s a little suppression of free speech to achieve “social justice”?

I predicted that the embarrassment being suffered by a great many (alas, not all) Biden voters would turn to anger in time for the midterm elections. I was way off. In fact, my predictions were so wrong that I owe my readers a heartfelt mea culpa.

I knew that Biden was going to be a disaster, but honestly, I thought it would take more than one year for him to reach a Carteresque level of failure. How wrong I was. Carter was a train wreck. But Joe accomplished all of Carter’s failures, and more, in only one year. One could objectively argue that Carter was four times better at being president than Biden.

Gas prices are now at an all time high, breaking the record set during the Obama administration. Everybody knows the prices haven’t peaked yet. Biden’s recommendation? Buy an electric car.

Women’s bathrooms, showers, and locker rooms are now open to men with gender confusion or malice – and the administration doesn’t much care which. In fact, USA Today’s Woman of the Year is Admiral Rachel Levine, a man who dresses as a woman, even while in uniform. China must be terrified. Sports Illustrated did a feature on Lia Thomas, a man who wears a woman’s speedo to compete in women’s swimming. I guess we should be thankful they didn’t feature him in their swimsuit edition.

If all of that hasn’t been hard enough on the Biden voters who boarded the normalcy train, the Dems have handed the party leadership (actual not ceremonial) to AOC and the squad. The squad and their fellow travelers in the executive branch have decided that it’s high time Americans give up their constitutional liberties. Citizens are now under federal investigation for challenging the government – verbally, not violently. The DHS has identified Americans as “threat actors” if they disagree with the results of the 2020 election or COVID protocols. The FBI has even raided the homes of reporters – for committing the crime of reporting.

Things aren’t any better on the international front. Biden gave Putin the green light to invade Ukraine – and alarmingly didn’t even realize he’d done it. He left thousands of hostages and billions of dollars of weaponry in Afghanistan. If only he’d left that weaponry in the Ukraine instead. Now, even the Saudis won’t answer his phone calls.

Americans are awake now, not liking what they are seeing, and turning against the Dems in droves. According to Pew Research, Joe is underwater in the polls relative to:

  • The economy
  • National security
  • Inflation
  • COVID
  • Immigration
  • Crime

According to an NBC Poll, a shocking 72 percent of Americans now think the country in on the wrong track. That number has only been that high three times in the past 30 years. In each case, the incumbent party was wiped out in the next election.

Here’s the one I consider the “Democrat friends embarrassment poll”: a recent Washington Examiner poll found that just 23% of Democrats would choose Biden in a Democrat primary race. Whoa – now tell me his own voters aren’t embarrassed by him.

A recent Washington Post-ABC News poll shows the Republicans with a 10 point advantage on the generic poll. How good is that for Republicans? It’s hard to say, because it’s never been that high before – not even preceding past red-wave elections.

Joe’s only answer to any of this is to scream at Americans that he’s sick of them not appreciating his greatness. Is that adding to his base, or embarrassing it.

A year ago, I predicted that the anger would peak just before the midterm election. Again, I was way off. It peaked in time for the off-year election. Liberals were wiped out in Virginia and in local elections across the country.

The silent majority has in fact turned into an angry mob. You see “Let’s Go Brandon” t-shirts, coffee mugs, lawn signs, and hats everywhere. The Biden “I did that” stickers on gas pumps have become so pervasive that Costco is even reviewing security footage and calling customers to tell them to knock it off.

Trump is hinting at a comeback, which will make him the only president in history to be elected three times but only inaugurated twice. The only thing the Dems seem to have in response is mass hysteria.

I happen to believe that we need a healthy two-party system in this country. Robust debate between two sane and reasonable parties is good for the country. Unfortunately, the Dems have set the “sane and reasonable” bar so low, it’s too easy for Republicans to say silly things and still come across as the adults in the room. It’s lowering the discourse across the board.

Unfortunately, I can’t think of anything the Dems can do to get themselves out of the corner they’ve painted themselves into. If I could, I’d tell them, even though I’m opposed to everything they stand for. Philosophically, we need them to be better. But practically, they’re no more capable of self-assessment than a crack addict.

So, we’re left with a President screaming that he’s sick of Americans, Obama’s former physician complaining that the President is in cognitive decline, and a Democrat party that can’t do anything about it. They could go the 25th Amendment route. It would certainly be easy to make the case. But that would leave them with Cackles Harris in charge. She of the:

“So, Ukraine is a country in Europe. It exists next to another country called Russia. Russia is a bigger country. Russia is a powerful country. Russia decided to invade a smaller country called Ukraine. So basically, that’s wrong.”

Sure, that will get Democrats over their embarrassment. Nope, the Dems are stuck with this problem until the 2024 election. At which point, things don’t look any better.

The reality is that Barack Obama decimated the Democrat Party bench, and AOC and her squad have neutered any remaining moderates. When 2024 rolls around, the Dems are left with:

  • Kamala “Cackles” Harris
  • Stacy “I really won” Abrams
  • Pete “family leave” Buttigieg
  • Beto “hell yes I’ll confiscate their guns” O’Rourke

No wonder Trump wants to run again.

A year ago, I predicted that all of my Democrat friends would be embarrassed by Biden and the Democrats. Now I don’t have any Democrat friends. They’re all pretending that they’ve been lifelong Republicans now. How could I have been so wrong.

  1. Like even Republicans, it takes time for Democrats to get over that period of “We won” gloating, in order to see the mess they created, by either voting or stuffing ballots. I guess that makes me one of those “Threat Actors”. Aah, I’ll wear that name proudly.

Don’t beat yourself up too much, John. The midterms are still in the front glass, and lots can change. Still, the future looks good for those midterms if voters don’t forget the lessons learned. Personally, I’d be honored to have been wrong, when the midterms are in the rearview mirror, and all looks good and red.

    • I’m not gloating. I’m confident the Republicans will mess things up. No matter how big their win is, it won’t be as big as it could have been.

      • Never underestimate the Resucklicucks’ singular talent for snatching defeat from the jaws of victory… a feat rivaled only by Pedo Joe’s unique talent for “couldn’t be any MORE wrong about absolutely everything if he were making a maximum effort.”

    • So much this, sir. You could have victory all setup on a kid’s teeball field and instead of picking up a bat and swinging they’d show up with a tennis racket, if they even came to play at all.

BTW, check your email, sir; sent you a note a while back that mighta been trapped in a spam filter. 🙂
