Zelensky Says Ukraine Won’t Attack Russian Territory

Things have gotten really bad for Ukrainian fighters. Russia has stepped up its game. CNN has reported that Ukraine is losing Sixty to one hundred men a day. That’s got to take a toll on its defenses. Biden has agreed to send Ukraine long-range rockets that have a distance of up to 78 miles. President Zelenskyy has said he will not attack Russia if given longer-range rockets.

I have to agree, that sending Ukraine longer-range weapons would be dangerous for the United States. Even though Putin really doesn’t want any war with us and our NATO allies after he tries to turn NATO against itself. All he did was strengthen NATO.

The problem I see is if we send them longer-range weapons such as rockets that could reach inside of Russia, would the team in charge of using them on the battlefield obey their orders not to fire them into Russia. All it would take is a few of them to decide to fire into Russia out of revenge.

They may have lost their family due to Russia targeting civilians. Hell, if it were me I don’t know if I would do it. We as Americans know what it is to want revenge. The closes we civilians have come to war was 9/11. I trust President Zelenskyy when he says he will not attack Russia over the border.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said supplying his country with long-range weapons doesn’t increase the risk of it attacking Russian territory, despite its invasion. Officials in the U.S. and some European countries have expressed concern that providing Kyiv with powerful, long-range weapons systems could permit Ukraine to hit deep into Russian territory.

Which could lead to an escalation in the three-month-long war. Russian officials say Washington’s supply of an increasingly sophisticated system heightens the prospect of direct conflict between Washington and Moscow. “We are not planning to attack Russia,” Mr. Zelensky said in an interview with Newsmax that aired late Tuesday. ‘We are not fighting on their territory. We have the war on our territory.”   “msn.com

NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg called Russia’s incursion into Ukraine a violent act of war, and reiterated Thursday morning the military alliance will protect every inch of its territory should Russia assault member countries, a result that military experts said is not likely.

While Russian forces launched a violent attack Thursday morning in Ukraine, NATO countries would not join in war with Russia if the member country was attacked. A missile-based system would allow his country to hit key targets on the Ukrainian battlefield more accurately, President Biden wrote Tuesday in a column for The New York Times, adding that the United States would not seek to remove Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Members of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) have met Russia’s invasion of Ukraine with outrage, deploying thousands of troops to Eastern Europe to protect their alliance members. But while Russian forces launched a violent assault on Ukraine Thursday morning, NATO countries will not engage in warfare against Russia unless a member nation is attacked.

The decision to stay out of the conflict in Ukraine comes at a fraught time for NATO, as Ukraine has expressed a desire to join the military alliance but remains shut out in large part because of Russia’s fierce opposition to more eastward NATO expansion.

So far, Russia’s wide-ranging attack on its neighbor country has been confined to Ukraine’s borders, hitting cities and bases with airstrikes or shelling, but several nearby NATO countries are on high alert and have formally asked other members to discuss whether the alliance should take collective action.   “time.com

Gee, the head of NATO actually had to say that? Took balls!

    • Big ones at that, right?? I’m getting a little sick and tired of herein tough talk, how about showing America is every bit as powerful as the world thinks, do they still?

      • I’m believing that is most of what we are hearing about, nowadays. Mostly blustering and blabbering. It probably started when the cable news garbage went 24 hours. You and I know the media can’t come up with enough real newsworthy stuff to fill a 24 hour news cycle.
I glanced at the Nashville Tennessean, today, while in a minit mart. What was on the front page, and bolded was a story questioning who the people are who execute death row inmates. Who is the physician who pronounces them dead, and what happens to the remains.
        Now that’s news!
