U.S. VS Russia – Who’s Threatening Whom?

At the risk of being called a Putin stooge, a traitor, a Russian apologist, et al, or worse, here goes.  Why has the President of the United States been constantly threatening nuclear war for the last few months?  He reaffirmed America’s first strike nuclear policy (same as Russia’s) back in April and can’t seem to stop talking about nukes and Ukraine since then.  Does he think rallying cries for Ukraine will lead to blind support for him and his failed presidency?  Why was he discussing “Armageddon” Thursday evening to his few remaining supporters at a Democrat fundraiser in NYC sponsored by James Murdoch, the son of the owner of the “conservative” Wall Street Journal and “conservative” Fox News Channel?  Why didn’t he share this vision with the rest of us non supporters?  Is Armageddon what he’s shooting for in addition to the Dow 30,000 again?

We are being fed a daily government approved blather from the so-called “mainstream media” that Putin is threatening to use tactical nukes in Ukraine, yet I can only find one quote of Putin saying anything regarding nukes and not about first use of nukes, tactical or otherwise, on his part.  The only quote I can find is an address he made in September about the defensive use of his weapons,

“They have even resorted to the nuclear blackmail. I am referring not only to the Western-encouraged shelling of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, which poses a threat of a nuclear disaster, but also to the statements made by some high-ranking representatives of the leading NATO countries on the possibility and admissibility of using weapons of mass destruction — nuclear weapons — against Russia.  I would like to remind those who make such statements regarding Russia that our country has different types of weapons as well, and some of them are more modern than the weapons NATO countries have. In the event of a threat to the territorial integrity of our country and to defend Russia and our people, we will certainly make use of all weapon systems available to us. This is not a bluff.”

Maybe my Google, Bing, Yahoo and DuckDuckGo search engines aren’t working properly.  Maybe mine have been hacked.  There have to be many more such threatening quotes.  Basically, Putin has stated that he will use all means available to defend Russian territory against NATO or any other threats.  Biden has said the same thing regarding NATO territory, even though he and his Border Czar, the hapless Kamala, haven’t lifted a finger to defend U.S. territory.

Isn’t a country’s leader supposed to defend the country he’s in charge of?  Isn’t he supposed to say so loud enough for any potential invader to hear?  So why is President Brandon trying to make himself over into President Kennedy during the Cuban Missile Crisis and why is NATO provoking a fight with Russia?  As far as I know, Ukraine is not 90 miles off our Florida coastline, unless my Google Maps has also been hacked.  And Joe Brandon is no Jack Kennedy.

Has Russia threatened to sign a mutual defense pact with Canada, Mexico, Jamaica, Dominican Republic, Haiti, the Bahamas, El Salvador, Panama, and Guatemala and I just missed it?  Did you?  NATO was created to defend against the Soviet Union.  Spoiler alert – the Soviet Union no longer exists.  So why is NATO threatening Russia with expansion up to Russia’s borders?  Our feckless President and his cheerleading press are really pushing for what seems to be a prelude to WWIII.  Are he and they softening us up for the inevitable call to arms like Bush did leading up to our invasion of Iraq?  Is our sorry excuse for a Secretary of State, Tony Blinken, now our new Colin Powell?  Should we prepare ourselves for the shock of a “WMD” presentation at the UN?

I was stationed in West Germany twice in the 70’s and 80’s, once as an infantryman and once as an infantry Officer.  I was trained and I trained my troops to counter a mechanized Soviet invasion.  Thank God I never had to put my training to the real test.  The proverbial balloon never went up.  So why is General George S. Brandon trying to reinflate that balloon?

Why should we believe anything Brandon or his intelligence services tell us?  He told us early on that just the threat of sanctions against Russia would prevent an invasion.  He was wrong.  He told us that sanctions would hurt Russia. The Russian Ruble gained, money poured into Russia from inflated gas and oil prices and the Brandon economy continued to tank.  He was wrong again.  The same intelligence services that falsely told us Russia got Trump elected, put bounties on US soldiers in Afghanistan, and Hunter’s laptop was Russian disinformation are now telling us they have no clue who, other than Russia, could have possibly sabotaged the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline, even though Brandon is on video saying he would do such a thing if Russia invaded Ukraine.

His intelligence services don’t seem very intelligent.  Gulf of Tonkin redux, anyone?  I guess clues must be marked “CLUE!” for our intel agencies to get one.  Like this clue from our State Department Under Secretary for Political Affairs (and endless wars) Victoria Nuland back in January,

“If Russia invades Ukraine, one way or another, Nord Stream 2 will not move forward…’It is currently a hunk of metal at the bottom of the ocean’.”

Even the Secretary of War, I mean State, gloating over the pipeline sabotage isn’t enough of a clue for our brainiacs at the CIA,

“It’s a tremendous opportunity to once and for all remove the dependence on Russian energy and thus to take away from Vladimir Putin the weaponization of energy as a means of advancing his imperial designs,” Anthony Blinken

If Blinken’s statement is to be believed it begs the question, why would Putin destroy his own ability to weaponize energy to advance his “imperial designs”?  Of course, our compliant state-controlled journalists don’t bother to ask this of Blinken or Brandon.  Putin sounds too clever and devious by half.  Yet we’re being told by state-controlled media that in order for any sane person to believe the Brandon regime or its surrogates could have possibly conducted this sabotage, that person would have to be high on Mexican drug cartel, open border fentanyl laced with a heavy dose of Russian disinformation conspiracy theory.

Not to be outdone by our watchdog lapdog press, RINO’s are jumping all over themselves to out clueless the clueless press and CIA.  That highly decorated war hero Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-ino, SC) is now threatening Elon Musk for daring to even suggest a diplomatic solution to the war in Ukraine.  The pro-war, military industrial complex Senator is having none of it.  The Senator, that has yet to find a war he isn’t willing to throw our young troops into, tweeted his response to Elon,

“While we’re at it, maybe the Congress should revisit the electric vehicle tax credit boondoggle. It is where the credit is now solely benefiting electric vehicle manufacturers who have increased prices equal to the tax credit!” @LindseyGrahamSC

Then,

“It could be a good way to help save money by applying those funds to assisting Ukrainians in defending their homeland!” @LindseyGrahamSC

Now, all of a sudden, Lindsey wants to save us all money, but not for us, for Ukraine.  After multiple votes to continue throwing tens of billions of dollars at Zelensky for his border security, Lindsey made no mention of how many votes he would cast to throw billions of dollars at our own border security.  Little Lindsey is all for comprehensive immigration reform but not comprehensive peace talks.

I expect to be scorched for not towing the line and going along with the conventional wisdom.  I’m sure even some of my fellow conservative friends will be eager to attack my stance and call me a Putin appeaser.  As a proud West Point grad and an even prouder son of one of the original Green Berets, I can take it.  But please don’t talk to me about defending democracy.  Ukraine is not a democracy.  A democracy doesn’t ban opposition parties, opposition newspapers and opposition television stations, like Zelensky has done.  A democracy doesn’t have its intelligence forces murder pro-Russian civilians as Ukrainian Interior Ministry adviser Anton Gerashchenko told the U.K. Daily Mail in an article published Wednesday.  Russia may not be a democracy, but neither is Ukraine.  As much as some would have us believe otherwise, this is not 1939 all over again, Putin is not Hitler, Ukraine is not Poland and Brandon is not FDR.

Sorry if I’m not willing to follow along with what David Sacks calls Woke War III.  Why all the saber rattling?  Why the rush to war?  What are we supposed to fight this war with any way?  Our military can’t even meet its retention and recruitment goals. Our military “leaders” are too busy training the troops on our truly biggest threats, misuse of preferred pronouns and climate change.  I guess we’ll shock and awe them by throwing feather boas, preferred pronoun quizzes and sandbags at the Russian army.  No thanks.  This MAGA Republican won’t be volunteering my two sons to be sacrificed on the Brandon midterm and reelection altar.  They will not be dying on some God forsaken, frozen, unpronounceable piece of tundra in eastern Ukraine to be forever forgotten, nor should any other American sons.  Enough already, Brandon.  Quit escalating us into WWIII.

  1. Terrific post!

Too bad that almost everyone in government, on any side of this conflict, is self-interested, corrupt and more interested in posturing than they are in achieving peace. I posit that just a couple of honest and moral persons in positions of influence might have the chance to end the madness. For the want of a nail…..

Joey Robinette, never having been in a position where anyone took him seriously, now finds himself in a position where the entire world could / should take him seriously but doesn’t (senility). He still thinks he can spout off the first ghost of a thought that emanates from his lizard brain, without consequence. Too bad he never developed the habit of self-control. ‘Walking back’ has become a major policy pillar of the Brandon administration.

The Ukrainians are far too corrupt to take seriously (ladies and gentlemen of the jury, exhibit one is the Biden family regime involvement in Ukraine.)

Vlad is no statesman. His agenda appears to be power first, second and always. The Soviet Union called and asked him for it’s foreign policy back. He is well past his sell-by date and one begins to wonder if he really believes that the Russian military is as formidable as he postures.

One can only pray that this ends without further loss of life, but I don’t hold much hope for that until the players on the board are changed and we have responsible adults at the table, negotiating peace, security and a path forward for the citizens of Ukraine, Russia, and NATO.

  2. I am God, family, country first and I agree with your assessment. I have a son career Army and have watched how these career politicians operate. Multiple deployments and look how they withdrew from Afghanistan.
The military is at the whim of the feckless and malevolent. The power hungry pols can not help involving themselves in situations that are none of our business. The recent funding of the Ukes is a slush fund for them and their bribers. That is why there is no accounting for the funds and they have already been caught trafficking arms for cash.
We are at a cross road.
