The Supreme Court has ruled on the issue of federal agents removing Texas razor wire from border crossing sites, and Texas Governor Greg Abbott is channeling Andrew Jackson: “They have made their decision. Now let them enforce it.”
The Texas Military Department says it will continue to “hold the line in Shelby Park” in their efforts to “deter and prevent unlawful entry into the State of Texas.” Under Operation Lone Star orders from Governor Greg Abbott, the Texas National Guard’s actions continue despite a second demand letter from the Department of Homeland Security to release control of the park seized by the State earlier this month. Governor Abbott pledged to continue deploying razor wire along the Rio Grande border with Mexico.
On Wednesday, Governor Abbott released a statement that one can only describe as “defiant.”

Here’s the thing: Under the Constitution, Governor Abbott would seem to be on solid footing. In his statement, he references Article 1, Section 10, Clause 3, which states:
No State shall, without the Consent of Congress, lay any Duty of Tonnage, keep Troops, or Ships of War in time of Peace, enter into any Agreement or Compact with another State, or with a foreign Power, or engage in War, unless actually invaded, or in such imminent Danger as will not admit of delay.
One can scarcely deny Texas (and the United States) is being invaded.
As of this writing, Texas National Guard soldiers are continuing to install razor wire along the border.
This has the potential to be a constitutional crisis worse than any since 1860. Since literally Day One, the Biden Administration has been derelict in its duty to prevent foreign invaders from entering the country. Governor Abbott has declared an invasion – he could scarcely deny that there is an invasion underway – and given that, he has Constitutional authority to act.
Consider what this means to the nation. Not since 1860 has a state so openly defied the federal government, but this case couldn’t be more different than the 1860 crisis; Texas is not talking about seceding, they are not defying the Constitution; they are instead demanding that the federal government actually fulfill its constitutional duties. That’s a far cry from the South Carolinians firing on Fort Sumter.
Since Joe Biden took office in 2021, over six million illegal aliens have invaded the United States. It’s not just a border-state issue; it is a national issue. The federal government is flying these invaders all over the country, even here in Alaska; while we here in the Great Land are insulated by an entirely different country, and while not many people slip across the border from the Yukon Territory, we have no idea how many may have been flown, free of charge, to Anchorage or Fairbanks. And some of these people are openly threatening.
And that’s the thing: The Biden Administration doesn’t know who most of these people are, where they are coming from, where they are going, or what they intend to do when they get there. If that’s not an invasion, then the thing doesn’t exist.
Feature or bug?
This will be the election issue in November, no matter how Democrats try to deflect it

Dems have long made the Court’s integrity and effectiveness questionable, it’s about time we recognized it too.
Article IV US Constitution
Section 4 Republican Form of Government
The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and SHALL PROTECT EACH OF THEM AGAINST INVASION; and on Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature cannot be convened) against domestic Violence.
Why hasn’t this been added to the articles of impeachment for Joseph Robinetter by Speaker Johnson and the Republicans of the House??!!
