Stage 2 of Democrat Operation, “Elect Trump” Begins in Manhattan

The TDS afflicted lawfare warriors of New York just kicked off stage 2 of their effort to get Donald Trump re-elected in November. New York Attorney General Letitia James got her civil suit decision, and won the state 464 million bucks from the Donald. It was a huge success, with only a couple of unintended consequences – Trump’s polling went up, and businesses are fleeing the state. Now District Attorney Alvin Bragg is going for the big kahuna – a criminal conviction.

On April 15, Trump’s trial for an alleged accounting error began. The press is calling it a “hush money” trial, but that’s just a deception from the industry that specializes in deception. He’s being tried for improperly accounting for a contractual expenditure. Even if true, were it not Donald Trump, it would be a misdemeanor for which the statute of limitations has run. But Bragg claims that since Trump’s attorneys made the same mistake 34 times, it’s felony conspiracy and the statute of limitations shouldn’t count.

The alleged misconduct didn’t avoid any taxes, and no shell companies were used to launder money (that’s a Biden family thing). Money used to pay a lawyer was called a “legal expenditure” when Bragg thinks it should have been a “campaign expenditure.” Even Merrick Garland wasn’t shameless enough to try that argument. But Bragg promised to “get Trump,” so here we go. If you haven’t guessed by now, Bragg is using a legal theory that has never been tested before. So naturally, it should be tried for the first time on a challenger to the current President. We’re expected to “suspend disbelief” and trust that the trial has nothing to do with politics. The strategy seems to be that if they keep chanting “nobody is above the law” enough times, the public won’t notice that some laws are only applied to politicians with an affinity for kissing flags and passing out red hats.

Fortunately for Bragg (and ironically for Trump also), the trial is being conducted in Manhattan by a deeply compromised – and TDS afflicted – judge. Judge Juan Merchan donated to the Biden campaign, and has a daughter who as a Democrat party consultant, is profiting from the trial. Yet Merchan refuses to recuse himself. Like the “kindly old gentleman with the bad memory,” he has probably never talked to his kid about business.

The trial is expected to last for a couple of months and the judge has issued a gag order to Trump. While asking people to vote for him, there will be no claims of innocence from the Donald. Judge Merchan apparently has the authority to waive the 1st Amendment in Manhattan. I’ve been looking for the penumbra from which that authority emanates – but I haven’t found it yet. I’ll get back to you.

Judge Merchan also informed Trump that he would be arrested if he failed to be present for every day of the proceeding. There will be no campaigning against the guy Merchan will be voting for. Merchan even denied Trump permission to go to his son’s graduation. I’m sure TDS has nothing to do with that decision.

The raving lunatics of the left consider Judge Merchan’s decisions master strokes of politicking. Multiple indictments have failed to damage Trump in the polls. The Supreme Court won’t let the states tell the public they can’t vote for Trump. But Merchan provided a workaround. Just incarcerate the Donald in a courtroom during a critical stage of the campaign, prevent the public from seeing much of him, and leave the field open for “Lunch bucket Joe” to collect votes. Brilliant! Or is it?

I know a great many people who voted against Donald Trump because they find his personality “off putting.” Those of us who prefer the betterment of our lives over sunny promises of returning normalcy to the White House may not like personality-based voting – but it’s a reality. So what happens if Donald Trump is absent from the campaign trail for 2 months?

Will his perceived unlikability begin to fade if he is removed from public view? Will irritation with bragging and mean tweets be replaced with memories of the economic prosperity, closed borders, and energy independence which he achieved?

For the next 2 months Trump will not be saying things which the press will take out of context; he won’t be taunting his political opponents; and he won’t be promising that we’ll be sick of all the winning. Judge Merchan just neutralized Trump’s greatest vulnerability – for two months.

So, Joe Biden won’t be traveling coast to coast energizing his voters, because there aren’t enough amphetamines in the doctor’s bag to keep him lucid past naptime. Donald Trump won’t be making the rounds either, because the good Judge has chained him to a courtroom. The voters won’t have a chance to compare man against man. They’ll have to fall back on record vs. record – which is a yuuge advantage for Trump. It’s just too bad this will only keep the Donald from irritating people for a couple of months.

But there is still hope for a continuation. Perhaps Bragg will realize that the trial is actually helping the Trump campaign, consider the trial an in-kind donation, and indict the Donald for treating it as a legal expense. Then we can start this process all over again in June! Heck, the Donald can’t be more than 1 or 2 trials short of a winning vote margin in New York this year.
