Fox news reports that President Biden said he has "great confidence" in Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark Milley, amid allegations that he held "secret" phone calls with his Chinese counterpart.

According to excerpts released this week from the forthcoming book, “Peril” by journalists Bob Woodward and Robert Costa, Milley held secret phone calls with a Chinese counterpart on Oct. 30, 2020, and Jan. 8, 2021. In one of the phone calls, Milley allegedly said, “General Li, you and I have known each other for now five years. If we’re going to attack, I’m going to call you ahead of time. It’s not going to be a surprise.”

President Biden made the one-sentence remark while responding to reporters' questions during a meeting with business leaders. General Milley has faced calls for his resignation, but White House press secretary Jen Psaki also defended Milley Wednesday.

In fact stated that Biden "has worked side by side with Chairman Milley for almost eight months as the chairman of the Joint Chiefs," Psaki said. "His experience with him has been that he is a patriot."

My take is that one can be a great patriot, and still do the wrong thing. If you do, you should be held accountable just as an enlisted or junior officer would be held accountable. Everyone that has ever been in the service understands the chain of command and we are held to it.

I suspect that Joe Biden does have confidence in General Milley. If it is true that General Milley made the call to China. If it is true that General Milley told China that he would give them a heads up so they wouldn’t be surprised, was it at the direction of the same people who are the handlers for Joe Biden?

In addition to the phone calls with China, Milley had held secret staff meeting demanding that no orders be followed unless those orders came from him. The order came as General Milley was reportedly concerned Trump would wage a rogue nuclear attack on China amid heightened tensions.

Now what no one is saying is this, does anyone think China would have attacked first if Trump (and there is no way to know) actually was going to attack anyone, especially China with a nuclear weapon? I would think that if Trump is so “crazy” as Pelosi has stated, Iran would have been the target, not China. Does it appear to anyone else that Biden and China seem to be mentioned together far more than by coincidence? I wonder why?

By statute the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff is not in the chain of command. If the allegations are true General Milley said he would give a heads up to the Chinese if we were going to strike them that would be undermining the civilian control of our military.  This is a really big deal and an egregious act by the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff that not only borders on treason but is in fact is a textbook example of Treason.

How about putting the shoe on the other foot...what if General Milley called his counterparts in Russia, Iran, N. Korea, and China and told them all that Joe Biden was clearly in the throes of dementia, and that he was concerned Biden might punch the nuclear button because he was so unstable...but, don't worry, I'll personally call you and warn you before he actually hits the button? Would Biden consider that "Patriotic" as well?

I like numerous members of Congress, including Sens. Rand Paul and Marco Rubiowho have called on Milley to resign and be punished for his actions.
