Like countless people over the last week and a half, I've heard Bob Woodward has a new book coming out today called Peril . Woodward is appearing on multiple TV shows and anyone else who will talk to him to gin up publicity for the book, which is normal procedure for him (Woodward is almost as bad a camera hog as Shirley Jackson-Lee). In it, he claims the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (CJCS), General (GEN) Mark Milley, called his Chinese counterpart, General Li Zuocheng, on January 8 to reassure him then President Trump woould not start a war with China.
