John Green is a retired engineer and a graduate of Purdue University. Much of his career was spent in the field of military weapon systems development. When it comes to defense systems acquisition, he has seen how the sausage is made. His work has included product design, quality assurance, engineering management, organizational development, and corporate strategic planning. John and his wife left Minnesota for political reasons. They now reside in free Idaho, where he spends his time writing political and social commentary. Much of John's work is considered satire, but he claims that is only because our current political leadership has given him no choice.
[ Newest ]Government Spending has Become Insane

Our current national debt stands at a whopping 29 trillion dollars. As if that isn’t bad enough, Congress wants to increase it by another 5 trillion dollars or so. They have no choice, you know, because they have some Christmas shopping to do for their favorite constituents. This holiday morning bounty will come in the form of 4.7 trillion dollars in infrastructure spending – that has little to do with infrastructure, and a lot to do with throwing money at their favorite projects.
“Build Back Better” Costs a Lot More than “Nothing”
John Green 10/13/2021 9:01 AM
Joe Biden is asking America to spend 3.5 trillion dollars (that we don’t have) on his “Build Back Better” program. Both he and our congressional leadership are trying to sell us on the notion that it’s no big deal because the program doesn’t cost anything. It’s entirely free!
We’ll Never Win Back Biden Voters with Logic – But There is Another Way
John Green 10/8/2021 6:01 AM
Somewhere around half of the voters (regardless of what you think of the election) chose the socialist alternative that the Democrats were offering. We can’t return our country to its founding principles without addressing the half of the citizenry that are ready to abandon those principles.
They Can’t Win if We Won’t Surrender

War is only ended by the loser, not the winner. That’s why the pessimist faction of conservatism bothers me the most. They’re ready to concede, and they’re playing into the left’s hands.
Convention of States - The Greatest Bipartisan Movement of the Century
John Green 10/1/2021 6:01 AM
Recent polling shows that a convention of states is supported by 75% of Republican voters, 55% of Democrat voters, and 64% of voters with other affiliations. Is there any other political initiative of the 21st century that enjoys such broad support? This support has enabled the Convention of States Action (COSA) organization to make substantial progress towards triggering a convention to address:

Like many Americans, I’ve been in a funk since last November. Now it’s time to shake it off and re-engage. George Washington presided over a series of lost battles and tactical retreats during the American revolution. But each battle (regardless of outcome) weakened the enemy and led to eventual freedom from the monarchy. The ruling class has taken an election, but they’ve substantially weakened their position in doing so. It’s time to take stock of our relative positions and move on.
Joe Biden -- Ingenious Idiot
John Green 9/23/2021 7:01 AM
Hanlon's Razor states, "One should never attribute to malice that which can be explained by stupidity." There's an engineering interpretation of this guidance which says, "Never underestimate the ingenuity of idiots." It's a caution to engineers to never underestimate the ways in which their products may be misused. As we've discovered this year, the guidance is applicable to politics as well. Barrack Obama even provided a political interpretation of Hanlon's Razor. As he said, "Never underestimate Joe's ability to eff things up." Just as Obama warned, Joe has given us a remarkable demonstration of idiotic ingenuity.
Critical Race Theory is On the Ropes
John Green 9/22/2021 1:31 PM
Protests against Critical Race Theory (CRT) are breaking out all over America. It may even be shaping up to be a major election issue next year. Parents are protesting against CRT at school board meetings and with their local school administrations. It has become such a heated issue that even state and local governments are getting involved – and they’re not coming down on the side of CRT.

Let’s take a look at what happened to the Clinton Foundation since Madame Secretary Box-Wine lost the Presidential election of 2016. Surprise, surprise, its donations have all dried up. But the Foundation is still chartered to provide world-wide charity. Have its donors suddenly become less charitable – all of them? Don’t the friends of the Clintons still revel in the joy of helping others – and getting the tax deductions? Or were the donors actually after something other than the fulfillment of helping others?
Buyer’s Remorse? Let’s Blame the Press

Barack Obama hasn’t been right about much. But he was 100% right about Joe’s ability to eff things up.
