From Gilda Radner’s portrayal of Roseanne Roseannadanna to Dan Akroyd’s turn as Beldar Conehead, NBC’s “Saturday Night Live” had America laughing in the 1970s. Although the show continues nearly 50 years later, the consensus seems to be that it stopped being funny decades ago.
As its producers struggles to regain the show’s former glory, they’ve crossed one line after another. Over the weekend, they managed to cross two.
A group of cast members show up for the rehearsal of their church’s nativity pageant. The directors inform them that it will be a “hip hop nativity.”
In the video below, they teach the fellow who will be playing “Joseph” how to walk like a pimp. “Miss Kitty“ shows how it’s done. “I’m Joseph. I’m a baby daddy now. A pimp walk. … “
In similar fashion, “Baby Jesus” is taught to twerk, and Mary learns how to do a pole dance.
Not only is this skit unamusing, it enters “offensive” territory. And it begs the question, would they ever portray the Prophet Muhammad in this manner? Would they mock the core beliefs of Islam? Remember the last time someone poked fun at the Prophet Muhammad?
In the next segment, SNL takes aim at Roger Stone’s 75-year-old wife who is currently battling cancer.
The “announcer” tells viewers, “Trump advisor Roger Stone who draws his glasses on with a Sharpie, [he is interrupted by uproariously laughter, including his own] refused to cooperate with the committee investigating the January 6th attacks, though Stone said he would be open to sitting in a corner watching the committee take turns on his wife.”
It’s not even remotely funny. It’s depraved. Who would even come up with something like that?

Several weeks ago, another skit from the show made the news for a very different reason. It was funny.
Think about that. It was newsworthy that a sketch from a comedy show was actually funny.
I found it to be mildly amusing, but many conservatives thought it was hilarious. RedState’s Scott Hounsell even wrote an article about it.
