Volunteer to save the nation- The Importance of Local Involvement in Our Decentralized Election Process

Our election process is decentralized, a structure that offers resilience and flexibility. However, this very system depends heavily on local involvement to ensure its integrity. Recent findings in our county underscore the need for vigilance and community participation in safeguarding our elections.

A local investigation, spearheaded by a dedicated school administrator and verified by the sheriff, uncovered irregularities involving ballot requests from vacant lots, empty homes, and seasonal cottages. These addresses, with no current residents, were still being used to request ballots. In many cases, the last known owners were deceased, and their ballots were unknowingly cast by someone else.

Over 50 such instances were identified in our county, a predominantly red area. While this number may appear small, it represents a significant vulnerability in our system. The investigation lacked the funding to delve deeper, leaving many questions unanswered. We don’t know who requested these ballots or how they voted, but the potential for abuse is clear.

This situation highlights the crucial role local citizens must play. Ensuring the accuracy of voter rolls, verifying ballot requests, and overseeing the process are all responsibilities that fall to the community. It’s not about being woke or partisan; it’s about protecting the democratic process and ensuring every legitimate vote is counted.

Local involvement is essential. When people step up to serve as poll workers, canvassers, and election monitors, they act as the first line of defense against irregularities. By participating, we uphold the integrity of our elections and ensure that our decentralized system functions as intended.

In conclusion, while our decentralized election process has its strengths, it also requires active local participation to address its weaknesses. By getting involved and staying vigilant, we can safeguard our elections and, ultimately, the future of our nation.
