Ralph Waldo Emerson warned: “When you strike at a king, you must kill him.” The implication being that failed attempts to overthrow a government, may come with rather unpleasant consequences. It’s a lesson our imagination challenged leftists are learning now – much to their chagrin.
The United States as been embroiled in a rolling coup attempt for the past 8+ years. Donald Trump entered office in 2017, facing a conspiracy of those determined to undermine the will of the people. The conspirators included deep state bureaucrats, anti-MAGA politicians (of both parties), and the legacy media. They even called themselves the “resistance,” and boasted about an “insurance policy” to remove Trump from office.
The cabal of anti-democratic (i.e., anti-self-governance) actors surveilled the President using the Patriot Act; used a hoax created by the Democrat party as a predicate to launch a special counsel investigation; and eventually impeached Trump because his own advisors disagreed with his policies. Their actions failed to remove the king President, but they did weaken and distract him from the people’s business.
Eventually the cabal used propaganda, censorship, and a pandemic to change election rules – influencing the 2020 election. They decided that choosing who would lead our country should not be left to a well-informed public. That’s rather anti-democratic behavior from the self-proclaimed defenders of democracy – no?
After Donald Trump lost the 2020 election the conspirators attempted to “salt the earth” by impeaching him again, imprisoning hundreds of his followers, and using law enforcement to intimidate thousands more. The message was clear: Back this Republican at your own peril.
But Trump was uncowed, and vowed a return. The President wasn’t slain – he was still a political threat. Hence, the coup had to continue. To prevent his return to power, the conspirators
- Tried to bankrupt him with civil suits – using laws passed just for him, and legal theories never tried before;
- Attempted to imprison him with indictments in 4 jurisdictions on 91 felony counts – for bookkeeping errors, voicing an opinion, demanding investigations, and exercising Presidential prerogatives; and
- Encouraged – and celebrated – two assassination attempts.
But the Donald was still standing. After slashing at him mercilessly with every weapon at their disposal, the leftists were rewarded with a bloody ear and an iconic image of a man defying their hatred.
It seems the coup conspirators had forgotten something fundamental to US governance. Trump was never the king. We are the source of power in America. The Donald was merely our avatar, sent to Washington as our stand-in. The leftists were clever enough to weave complex multi-axis attacks, but were not wise enough to realize that they would ultimately answer to us.
And answer they are. We decided that the best way to end the coup and reassert our authority, was to return the Donald to office – this time with a mandate to reign in our misbehaving “public servants.”
So, our representative is alive and well, seated in the Oval Office again, and delivering the consequences that Emerson warned of. After only a few days in office, he has
- Fired the high-paid public servants that decided they didn’t serve at our pleasure;
- Pardoned the prisoners, which the Garland DoJ had persecuted as a warning to conservatives;
- Exited the World Health Organization, which uses our money to demand that we relinquish our sovereignty;
- Cancelled the sustainable energy mandates and pulled out of the Paris Climate Accords, because communism doesn’t reverse anthropogenic climate change – even if it’s real (and it probably isn’t);
- Chartered Elon Musk to shrink government, because we never authorized it to grow like a malignant cancer;
- Ordered federal employees to return to the office, because they’ve become parasites rather than servants;
- Declared that there are only two sexes, because Bill Nye isn’t the “science guy,” Donald Trump is;
- Renamed an ocean, threatened tariffs, and is setting his sights on the Panama Canal – because the United States is not to be trifled with;
- Shut down federal DEI offices, because healing divisiveness could never be accomplished by fomenting hatred; and
- Launched investigations of DoJ, because corrupt law enforcement is incapable of achieving righteous results.
President Trump is punishing the insurrectionists by undoing everything they have achieved over two decades. They tried to defy the will of the people, and now they are paying the price.
Now the Democrat party stands in ruins – recognized as the crime family which it has become – and the federal bureaucrats who didn’t get pardoned are left to suffer the consequences of a failed coup.
Donald Trump is changing the course of government at a pace I wouldn’t have thought possible. The events since January 20th have left me wondering if the Donald is still collaborating with the Ronald (McDonald that is). I just can’t get this jingle out of my head: Do do do … do do. I’m lovin it.
