On the Jesse Kelly Show, Ann Coulter said that our military adventure in Iran isn’t making America safer. Luckily, she’s not the Secretary of State.
Over at The Hill, Dominick Mastrangelo wrote that attacking Iran is fracturing MAGA. I think he’s saying it because he hopes it’s so.
Meanwhile, Tucker Carlson claims the war is proof that our President is a victim of Jewish mind control, because Tucker has lost his freaking marbles.
But while the pundits pontificate, the Donald acts – because he understands that survival is more important than approval ratings. While they debate about polling and its significance to the upcoming election, our President is on a different mission – fulfilling his oath. He knows that it’s his sworn duty to protect America, not the electoral prospects of the Republican party. He is doing something unprecedented – what must be done, even if it’s unpopular.
What the pundits fail to grasp is that war is not conducted by mutual agreement, and we have been at war with Iran for 47 years. The Iranian theocracy chose to go to war with us decades ago. They’ve been killing Americans ever since. All attempts to coexist with them have failed – and we’ve tried everything: negotiations, sanctions, and even payoffs.
Donald Trump is the first President since Jimmy Carter created this mess, who understands that when attacked by fanatics, containment is not an option. One must win or lose.
Americans are understandably conflicted about engaging in another military conflict, because our track record of ending them hasn’t been particularly good. We have demonstrated a proficiency at toppling regimes, only to have oppression replaced by chaos, and our involvement becoming endless. It’s almost as if we’ve been fighting the wrong enemies – the symptoms rather than the disease.
If a doctor amputates the leg of a patient with a necrotizing fasciitis infection, but stops short of hammering the bacteria with antibiotics, he’ll need to keep cutting off pieces until the patient is gone. That is what we’ve been doing in the middle east. We’ve been cutting off the gangrenous pieces – Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, and Syria. The reality is that Iran is fundamentally different than the countries we’ve confronted. We have fought “forever wars” over the rotting flesh, while ignoring the root cause, Iran. We shouldn’t be surprised that the rot continued to spread.
The mad mullahs are a bunch of radical Islamists who think it is their divine duty to bring about global apocalypse, to usher in the 12th Imam and universal paradise. As Alfred Pennyworth told Batman, “Some men just want to watch the world burn.” That’s not a mindset that can be reasoned with. It must be defeated.
Sadly, just because we’re finally attacking the root cause of much of the world’s trouble doesn’t mean we’re out of the woods. This malignancy has been metastasizing for almost half a century. The tumor must be excised, but it has already poisoned the body. The sooner we start this treatment, the more likely it is that we’ll beat the infection, but we’re already starting quite late.
Regardless of the likelihood of success, allowing a bunch of crazed “Twelvers” to destabilize the middle east while enriching uranium for a bomb, would have never provided what the doctors call a “positive outcome.” So, I have a message for Ann, Dominick, Tucker, and the other ostriches: At this stage of the infection, it’s pointless to worry about the risk of treatment. Our time is better spent praying for those administering it: our soldiers.
