My good friend — OK, OK, I’ve never actually met him, but we follow each other on Twitter! — Dr Keeneland Dan got it just about right:
- Enes Kanter did us a service by declaring for the 2027 WNBA draft, exposing the hypocrisy of the ‘transgender’ agenda; and
- Having done that, Mr Kanter needs to stop acting like a clown
- Males — I won’t call them men — need to stay out of women’s sports, restrooms, and locker rooms
The left seem determined to hold that the ‘transgendered’ are actually the sex they claim to be, rather than the sex biology has made them. They believe that men and women are absolutely equal, something which should be true under the law, but is clearly not the case when it comes to physical ability. Males are simply, as a general thing, bigger, taller, stronger, quicker, and faster than females; the concept of sexual dimorphism has been known for as long as humans were aware of sex, and it exists not only in humans, but virtually all animals. Males being larger and stronger than females occurs in most animal species, though the reverse is true in a few of them. But those who insist that men and women are absolutely equal simply cannot bear to acknowledge that: if men are bigger and stronger than women, then the left and the feminists worry that such implies that men are superior to women, and that simply cannot be accepted.
Mr Kanter, who has since changed his name to Enes Kanter Freedom, was listed as being 6’10” tall and 250 lb, and played for several NBA teams. If you look at the photo in Dr Dan’s tweet, you’ll see that his outstretched wingspan takes in about half of the WNBA’s Chicago Sky’s team! The WNBA had some sort of meeting after the Indiana Fever’s Sophie Cunningham said that males should not be allowed to compete against women in sports, but while the league then said that the WNBA was restricted to women, they never defined what a woman actually is. He attended Sunday’s game against the Chicago Sky, cheered when Miss Cunningham hit a three-point shot, and then, when the players came back to the same end of the court, the Sky’s Natasha Cloud got in a shouting match with Mr Kanter.
Why shouldn’t “transgender women” play women’s sports? The vast majority of the public understand the differences between males and females, but it has to be remembered: every WNBA team is located in a major city, and big cities are the incubators of leftism in the United States; that’s why the acronym AWFUL — affluent white female urban liberal — exists, because it is absolutely accurate. Most of the fans attending WNBA games come from those cities, and the league do not want to do anything to drive fans out of the seats.
Dr Dan replied to me, saying, “I can’t understand why women won’t stand up for other women. This isn’t that hard.” Well, it’s simple: for women on the left to stand up for other women would mean that they would have to admit what they do not want to admit, that “transgender women” aren’t really women at all, and that would mean siding with the evil Donald Trump and MAGA Republicans.
The league would love for this issue to simply go away, and Mr Kanter doesn’t seem to want to let it. But there’s another issue: in their attempts to bring more attention and popularity to the league, they’ve reverted to using sex to promote it. The league, and the individual teams are promoting “tunnel ‘fits,” the clothes the players are wearing as they arrive to the arenas for games. Miss Cunningham is one of the stars of those, with her great looks, long blonde hair, and athletic body, but it seems that most of the players are participating. It’s a fashion show, but how many women wear open short vests without shirts underneath out on the streets the way Kelsey Plum, seen on the left, did? And Miss Plum is not a marginal player, trying to hang on to a roster spot, but a genuine athlete and major WNBA star.
There have been eight WNBA players who’ve graced the pages of Sports Illustrated’s famous swimsuit issue.¹
I’m hardly the only person to notice this: InStyle magazine published “Can WNBA Players Dress Their Way to Pay Equity? There are more eyes than ever on women’s basketball, thanks in part to high-fashion tunnel walks. But they’re more than just fashion shows; they’re an outlet for attracting attention—and money” in July of 2024, well before the new WNBA union contract gave the players more money.
Unlike the NBA, which promotes its brand through long-range bombs and high-flying dunks, the women’s league is selling sex. With Lexie Hull and Miss Cunningham on Caitlin Clark’s Indiana Fever team, who can blame them? The Fever are so popular that opposing teams frequently more their games from the smaller arenas in which they normally play to big NBA stadia, to accommodate the abnormally large crowds when Indiana comes to play. The Seattle Storm and Portland Fire set back-to-back attendance records when the Fever came to town, and the Atlanta Dream and Toronto Tempo moved their games against Indiana to much larger arenas earlier this month for just that reason . . . and sold out.
Toronto used the Indiana game, with Miss Cunningham playing, to introduce their new “non-binary” team mascot, but heck, that’s Canada, so there’s no telling what kind of far-left idiocy comes from Canucks! 🙂
It might not have worked too well, because the Fever won 101-95, with Miss Cunningham scoring 13 points, including shooting 3-3 from behind the three-point line.
But one thing is certain: if a WNBA team does take Mr Kanter, or perhaps ‘Julie’ Tétart, no one is going to be interested in their tunnel outfits!
