“The people are revolting.”
“You said it; they stink on ice.”
This weekend I learned two things about Germany.
The first is Hitler did not invent the autobahn. The summer before Hitler’s election, Konrad Adenauer, Oberbürgermeister (mayor) of Cologne, opened the first autobahn. In fact, the Nazis opposed building autobahns until they took office and realized that it was a good boondoggle—staatliche Großarbeitkickbackerei—to reward patrons with no-show jobs and no-bid contracts.
Adenaur (named for switching to daylight saving time) was mayor of Cologne from 1917 until Hitler took over. Adenaur spent the next 14 years in political exile (and occasionally prison) until the war ended and he became mayor again. He also became the republic’s first post-Hitler chancellor, serving from 1949 to 1963.
The other thing I learned this weekend is Germany can ban political parties.
There are calls to ban the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party after it won in Sunday’s election 44% of the vote in Saxony-Anhalt, an East German state about the size and population of West Virginia, although a bit flatter.
The AfD will hold 39 of the 83 seats in the new state parliament, but the other parties plan to bloc-block it with the 44 seats they will hold and run the state.
All of this is perfectly legal, constitutional and contrary to the spirit of coalition governments. While AfD won only a plurality of the votes, it also had twice as many votes as the runner-up party. You don’t have to speak Deutsche to understand a rejection of the power brokers. An anti-AfD coalition would be run by the very insiders the voters voted out.
But that’s Germany’s problem and even when I lived there in the Army, I could not care which Helmut they elected as chancellor. For the record, Helmut Schmidt beat Helmut Kohl. You could say Schmidt slaw-tered Kohl, but I won’t.
What concerns me is having another NATO nation ignoring the will of the people. Voters were displeased with their government. Turnout was quite higher than usual—especially the massive anti-AfD votes that officials received on Monday by mail.
By all accounts, people were upset by mass immigration and the loss of national identity. This is the story of the world as globalists want to import Third Worlders whom the globalists truly believe they will control.
Idiots.
The Guardian is among the media vanguard that is apoplectic over this development. First it ran a story, “Germany’s far-right AfD thanks Elon Musk as France warns state election win a ‘serious moment.’” Then it changed the headline to “First Thing: German far-right leader thanks Elon Musk after landmark election win praised by Russia.”
What’s next? Tying AfD to Mister Tooth Decay and making kids go to school on Saturdays?
NBC made sure to get the N-word in there: “Alarm bells are ringing across Europe after a landslide election victory puts the far-right on the brink of holding power in a German state for the first time since the Nazis.”
Musk represents free speech. Putin represents tyranny. Guess which one the press opposes most.
So what in the Sieg Heil is the AfD agenda? What makes it so evil that we must ban the party and shun its members?
Via Grok, here’s the agenda:
- A Europe of sovereign states or exit the EU. AfD also wants Germany out of the euro and a return to a national currency.
- Full border control, asylum processed outside the EU and a remigration called “rückführungsoffensive.”
- Lower income and corporate taxes, raise the basic tax-free allowance, abolish the CO₂ levy and other climate-related taxes.
- Restart and expand nuclear power, keep/extend coal, repair and reuse Nord Stream, scrap the CO₂ tax and the combustion-engine ban.
- Financial incentives for German families to have more children (birth bonuses, family splitting in taxes, childcare support) instead of relying on immigration to fix demographics.
- Promote Leitkultur, protect the German language (including opposition to official gender language), and reject multiculturalism as official policy.
- Deport or remove residence rights from those who reject the German legal order; ban parallel Sharia structures (“friedensrichter”) and restrict certain public Islamic practices.
- Stronger police, zero tolerance for foreign criminals and clans/mafias.
- Drop free speech / “hate crime” laws.

You can see why the globalists are melting down.
Two weeks before the election, the German wire service DPA reported:
Two German political heavyweights on Friday called for “ethno-nationalist” branches of the Alternative for Germany (AfD) to be banned, just days before an election in the eastern state of Saxony-Anhalt that could see the far-right party take power for the first time.
In a joint article for the Sunday edition of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung newspaper, Defence Minister Boris Pistorius, from the centre-left Social Democrats, and Green veteran Cem Özdemir, the premier of the south-western state of Baden-Württemberg, revived calls for the anti-immigrant AfD to face legal restrictions in four eastern states.
“Based on our personal convictions, we once again urge that proceedings to ban the party be initiated as soon as possible, with a focus on the clearly ethno-nationalist state branches of the AfD in Thuringia, Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Brandenburg,” the politicians wrote.
Due to their anti-constitutional views, the AfD chapters in all four states are classified as “confirmed” right-wing extremist movements by intelligence agencies, allowing for the party to be monitored by authorities.
The German constitution allows a court to strip a party of its existence to avert the rise of a neo-Nazi party. It made sense 80 years ago, even though the first thing the Nazis did when they assumed power in 1933 was to ban opposition parties.
A ban can only be requested by the federal government, the Bundestag, or the Bundesrat. No such request has been filed.
In the past, Chancellor Friedrich Merz has opposed such a ban but he was deeply upset by the shellacking his CDU party took. Globalists believe in democracy only when it works for them. He said his government will not cooperate with the AfD but he also said, “We have to accept the result; those are the rules of our democracy.”
But he also said, “It is part of democracy that majorities change. But the values of the Basic Law are not up for a vote.”
They talk about Victor’s Justice in which the winner punishes the loser. This looks more like an attempt at Loser’s Justice.
For me, this is another example of our NATO co-signers not sharing our values. This does not mean I support AfD. I know too little about it and have even less interest in it.
All I know is mister we could use an Oberbürgermeister like Konrad Adenauer again.
