The Good Old Days

Freedom From Want: Rockwell

Let’s remember two years ago, shall we?

That is back when you could go anywhere you wanted, anytime you wanted.  (Trip to Europe anyone?)  When your kids went to school everyday without you having to check your email to see if everything has changed since yesterday.  A time when you didn’t know all your friends’ and associations’ personal health issues and political views.  A time when stores and restaurants actually had workers and were open during their regular business hours.  A time when vaccines were something middle-aged adults didn’t have to think about for themselves.  A time before shortages and rationing of common goods.  When our society thought and leadership governed in a rational and consistent way.

I can truly say that I remember “the good old days.”  Two short years ago.

I am so tired of the word “vaccine.”  I am tired of constantly talking about my least favorite subject – anything medical.  I am tired of having to fight for simple life choices like wearing a mask or not.  Mostly, I am tired of the terrifying descent into tyranny that we witness daily.

I, personally, know a good man who may go to jail for simply attending a rally at the National Mall.  I, personally, know a family whose children are being kicked out of private school because they won’t vaccinate their young kids.

I am sick of tyranny and injustice and helplessness.

And so, I want to salute you – all of you – who are holding the line.  Anyone who has refused to wear a mask.  Refused to vaccinate.  Who have supported a business under attack.  Who have called their superintendents, mayors, senators, representatives or governors.  Who have written articles, encouraged fellow dissenters, given our perspective to those who disagree with us.  Who have joined their local political parties or volunteered time or donated money to true Conservatives running for office.  Thank you.

This is the time to rally.  This is the time to hold the line.  The time to keep the faith and endure to the end.

The bully stands before us, swinging with all his might.  We must duck every swing and come back with a mighty blow.  I imagine it this way: we persevere through all of this without backing down.  Then, when the time is right, we, as a strong, united, group of Conservatives, serve the Left with a bill of divorce.  Or perhaps we pass a powerful amendment to the Constitution that returns our nation to its true meaning.  Or maybe we usher in a return to sovereign states united freely together.

Regardless of our ultimate strategy, right now we must not falter.  So, thank you all from the bottom of my heart for your part in holding the line.  Now, take heart and continue to stand firm for our freedoms.

  1. I’m a little ashamed to say I forgot who said this, “Say what you mean, and mean what you say”. If ever there was a time to have that attitude, now is the time, because all the time that has passed has allowed all the economic and physical suffering came from not using those words as our creed.
Cowardice, or maybe a better word, complacency, is what got us to this point, with maybe a bit of naivete thrown in from some people. But! It is the ones who took advantage of our complacency who are the true cowards, the totalitarians. They will kill us if allowed, but if challenged with substantial force and reason, they will run.
“Say what you mean and mean what you say” implies the willingness to use the threat of force to back up your resolve, but only if necessary.
The left is using the bluff game, every time they do anything. They will use useful idiots after successfully brainwashing and weakening their minds, to the point that those useful idiots will cause great violence, just like what we saw in Seattle, Portland and Minneapolis. We have to take our country back, by, borrowing one of their faux rallying calls, By Any Means Necessary.
I’m not calling for anything, but I am saying say what you mean, and mean what you say. We cannot rely on politicians. We will have to rely on ourselves, if we are ever to have what we now reminisce about, again. Our country was founded for the people, not totalitarians.
    Thank You, Maeve!

I can attest to this from my own education among Leftist Elites–they’re taught from childhood that only the most ruthless, sociopathic and cunning rise to master the sociopolitical chessboard; all others are pawns to be used while useful and disposed of once they outlive their usefulness.

Matt Bracken’s essay “Professor Raoul X” has a degree of relevance here.
