Secession is Occurring Part 2: A Clash of Cultures and Government Oppression

In Part 1 of this multi-part article, I asserted that we are becoming two distinctly different Dis-United States. One is an America based on our Constitution, institutions, law and order, freedoms, a common view of civics, commonly interpreted history, and shared culture. The other is an America transformed into a Leftist, woke, Marxist repressive regime in which all our institutions must be destroyed to rehabilitate an inherently evil nation. In Part 1, I discussed redrawing boundaries, Blue-state refugees, and efforts by the Biden administration to increase disunity and drive a wedge between Blue and Red America. This was made clear this week when Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) chose to use Hurricane Ian to make political points instead of an opportunity for unity and cooperation. In this installment, I will discuss manifest clashes of ideology and how the Leftists in power exploit crises to oppress the people.

Fourth of July versus Juneteenth: A Clash of Ideologies

No great nation can exist without a common culture, interpretation of its history, institutions, set of laws (i.e., local jurisdictions cannot be allowed to implement Sharia law within the US), equal protection under the law, and language. The day after Independence Day, a survey found that only about one-third. On a day when all of us should celebrate the sacrifices of our founding fathers and those who fought for independence and the creation of this great nation, authors on social media condemned the holiday in vulgar terms. Congresswoman Cori Bush also criticized the Fourth of July as racist. Really? Has a wealthy black woman who attained a coveted position in Congress been repressed? The shame is that the Marxists in our classrooms have convinced our young people that America is evil when they should be taught to appreciate the wealth and freedoms they take for granted (which the Leftists want to take away). Frederick Douglas didn’t hate the Fourth of July! As noted in the New York Post,

The richest, freest nation in the history of the world has liberated two continents from fascism, protected the world from communism, and saved tens of millions of lives in the process… [Is our union] imperfect? Well, certainly. Like people from every culture across history, Americans have committed horrible sins. Chief among ours are slavery and segregation. But our nation’s founding also sowed the seeds of the destruction of those evil institutions. “All men are created equal” could not perpetually coexist with slavery or segregation. “A house divided against itself cannot stand.” Many brave patriots fought and died to make the “promissory note” closer to the whole. It may never get there, because “from the crooked timber of humanity, nothing was ever made straight.” Even so, the character of America is always striving to be “more perfect,” and we must continue to do so today. What separates America in human history is not its sins, but its virtues. [my emphasis added]

The facts that school children need to be taught are not just what America did poorly, but how we recognized our faults and continuously worked to improve our journey from a less to a more perfect union. Only Leftists, apparently, are without fault. I grew up believing that mistakes were okay if they were honest mistakes and you learned from them. Why do children think what we have in America — wealth, freedom, and safety — are normal in the course of human history or anywhere else in the world today? They believe this because they are lied to by many of our “teachers,” celebrities, the Leftist media, and increasingly by our government.

Every day, those in the Red Dis-United States see Leftists commit repugnant acts that are normal in Blue parts of the country — another example we are becoming two disparate nations. A school board in New Jersey voted to remove the names of all holidays from the school schedule to be more “inclusive.” Hollywood Marxists assault everything American — except making much money for themselves while condemning others for earning money. The National Endowment of the Arts uses (my) tax money to fund placing feces on a statue of the Virgin Mary or the American flag. Pampered millionaire athletes, who provide no value to the nation’s future, protest the objectively false narrative that police are gunning down black men in droves by taking a knee or facing away from the American flag during the playing of the national anthem.

The Texas Legislature had to pass a law requiring playing the national anthem at professional sports games. Gwen Berry made news when she turned away from the US flag during the playing of the national anthem and held up a t-shirt that read “activist athlete.” If you don’t want to represent America, Gwen, don’t try out for our Olympic team. Biden’s ambassador to the UN openly and publicly criticized our country. “Teachers” in our indoctrination camps (a.k.a. schools) are teaching a skewed and false history of the United States. They are told they should hate America, our Constitution, our flag, and our National Anthem. (See my series on schools here, here, and here.) In no other country in the world are young kids taught to hate their own land! Teachers’ unions vow to spread the lies of critical race theory across all fifty states. Recently a school district in Tennessee fired a tenured teacher for presenting critical race theory without alternative viewpoints by Tennessee law.

Instead of Independence Day in 2021, Premier Biden pandered to the woke BLM crowd by creating a divisive holiday that Candace Owens described as lame. He created a holiday that was not about unity but disunity, just like <name your ethnicity> month. Independence Day is about the founding of this once-great nation. All Americans should celebrate our virtues and accomplishments, remember the veterans and patriots who created this great nation and have fun. It should not be about scoring appeasement points with more-equal demographics.

In a nefarious move, the NFL announced that it would play the National Anthem and the “black national anthem” before their games. I don’t think any real Americans should ever turn on another National Football League game again. Supposedly this is somehow unifying to have multiple national anthems. Do we need a Native American National Anthem, an Asian national anthem, a Latino National Anthem, or a Laotian National Anthem? Are we one nation or not? Where does it stop? How thinly do we divide the nation with disunity? How about Swedish, Finnish, Senegalese, Mongolian, or Canadian? Do we need a special national anthem for haiku poets of Lithuanian descent? So, who does our national anthem cover? Anyone? Or no one? Is there intelligent life in the NFL? Those who say they will tune in after the anthems are played are merely enabling the NFL’s repugnant behavior. Don’t watch their games, attend them, or buy their merchandise until they repent of their evil ways!

We have a Red part of the country that believes in America. We have a Blue part of the country that hates America. Two very different Americas are emerging.

The “Plague” as a Means of Oppression

I am not a Donald Trump fan. President Trump’s lasting legacy will be that, despite mostly solid policies, his demeanor and personality united all the various Leftist, woke, anti-American, racist, and Marxist groups into an unholy alliance that is close to destroying the nation I love. My enemy’s enemy is my friend. I cannot forgive him for forging a powerful enemy of everything I stand for from the disparate tribes of America haters. One of the things I think he did very well, however, was to decentralize the response to the overhyped COVID plague. Rightly, it was the responsibility of the governors of sovereign states to manage the COVID response. At the same time, the federal government focused on vaccine development and providing resources (e.g., ventilators, hospital ships, etc.). In our federal republic, this was precisely the proper sharing of power.

In Upheaval: How Nations Cope with Crisis and Change, Jared Diamond (also the author of Guns, Germs, and Steel, which I highly recommend) described the value of our federal republic like this:

In addition to those advantages of democracies in general, the US derives further advantages from its particular form of democracy, namely, federal government. In a federal system, important government functions are reserved to regional democratic units and aren’t the prerogative of a single centralized national government. The US version of a federal system consists of 50 states, which in practice often means 50 competing experiments that test different solutions to the same shared problem, and that may thereby reveal which solution works best. For instance, America’s states variously permit (Oregon) or ban (Alabama) assisted suicide, and variously levy high (California) or low (Montana) state taxes.

This decentralized approach should have enabled Governors of sovereign states to try different responses to COVID and have the other states learn from each other. Instead, the decentralized system exposed the fascist governors of Blue states as domestic enemies of the Constitution. Even though the Biden Administration decided not to investigate the awful (probably criminal) handling of nursing home patients in New York, Pennsylvania, and Michigan, the governors of Michigan, New York, New Jersey, Kalifornia, Oregon, and Washington (among others) demonstrated to anyone other than our biased media and the successfully gaslit Sheeple that they saw COVID merely as a chance to grab power. They destroyed small businesses, limited access to life-saving medications (just because Trump said they worked), and limited the right to assemble peacefully. They arbitrarily promoted some businesses while destroying others (Walmart was “critical,” but other stores were shuttered) and enforced movement restrictions without legislation due to imaginary “emergency powers” (in Michigan, a man was arrested for fishing by himself in the middle of a lake, because fishing wasn’t considered “essential”). Fascist governors tried to restrict travel to and from Red states (violating the Interstate Commerce Clause) and imposed other “lockdowns” without scientific evidence of their efficacy. When Governor DeSantis (R-FL) refused Biden’s “request” to shut down all restaurants in Florida to slow the CCP virus, citing the ineffectiveness and economic impacts of such a move, Premier Biden threatened to unconstitutionally ban all air and road travel to and from Florida. That was unifying, I guess!

Worse yet, those fascist governors were caught violating their own rules. “Do as I say, not as I do” is unifying, it seems. Data on the CDC site shows no difference in COVID rates between states locked down and those that weren’t, between states with mask mandates and those without them. Yet lockdowns and closures persisted — and continue to strive! The Federal government and fascist states again imposed lockdowns and mask mandates due to the Delta variant. And then there are Lambda and a bunch more Greek letters coming down the road, providing excuses to oppress the Sheeple further and impinge on their rights. Schools in Leftist cities are threatening more lockdowns, school closures, and mask mandates. Though Biden declared the pandemic over, the military is still kicking out soldiers who don’t have the vaccine, despite being unable to meet recruiting and retention goals. New York recently fired 1300 teachers who didn’t vaccinate despite a statewide teacher shortage. And recently, we have learned that Bill Gates is researching how to manipulate people to make them more willing to get the COVID vaccine.

Because we are becoming two Americas, one Red and one Blue, the 50 experiments dealing with the plague were not mined for lessons learned. Thought Red states performed better than Blue states, Leftists and Democrats merely vilified blue states, Biden Administration (remember the “Neanderthal thinking” comment), and their media sycophants. Meanwhile, Red states led reopening of businesses, in-person schooling, and the elimination of masking mandates. Red state economies continued to operate during the plague. After the initial lockdowns, which can be excused due to the inconsistent guidance from Saint Fauci and the novelty of the situation, Red states allowed small businesses to reopen. Some states, like Florida, never implemented a state-wide mask mandate. To make matters worse, recent studies indicate that Dr. Birx made up the guidance and that masking was unnecessary.

The Federal Government has proposed, and some states (e.g., Washington) have imposed unconstitutional and illegal vaccine passports. This is an egregious violation of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA) in the US, making it a crime to require sharing such medical information. (It is not your choice to get a vaccine if you want to participate in society, but it is your choice to murder an unborn child. I don’t get it.) While I enjoy visiting Europe, I generally look to them for how NOT to do things, and they imposed vaccine passports. Yet the Federal Government shut down the Cruise Ship industry to punish Florida and Governor DeSantis for his effective handling of COVID. In a free country, getting vaccinated is a person’s choice. I am pro-vaccination in general, but I am anti-coercion. (Fauci’s dizzying logic says you should get the vaccination, and you are safe, but even if you get the shot, you aren’t safe unless you mask!)

My friend John recently noted on Fascist book,

Just saw an article headline on ESPN over concerns about the Olympics because cases in Tokyo had risen to 1308. Tokyo has a population of 14M. That’s an infection rate of .0009. Nobody is scientifically illiterate enough to think that it can be significant. We are seeing similar “concerns” reporting out of Nashville over case increases when the numbers are less than 10% of last year’s peak period and deaths are still declining and in the single digits. COVID is now just a hammer used by some to control and oppress others.

And don’t get me started on Justice Roberts’ opinion that the federal government can make you buy health insurance you don’t want!

In a farce so ridiculous as to defy description, Kalifornia announced that the state will no longer fund any official trips to 17 states due to “discriminatory LGBTQ laws.” Those laws, by the way, protect women’s athletics by not allowing biological males to pretend they are female. This travel ban occurred about the same time that the Biden administration publicly opposed states issuing laws protecting. This appeasement is so appalling that in January 2020, the State of Kalifornia sponsored official travel to the UAE, where same-sex relations can be punished by death. Apparently, that is not as bad as keeping males off the girls’ track team or out of the girls’ locker room.

 

  A de facto secession is occurring we see the nation divided by two different visions of America. One in which impinging Constitutional rights and civil liberties is okay if it benefits the ruling elitists and preferred demographics and one in which the Bill of Rights matters.
