No New Year’s Resolutions For Me

No, do not look to me for New Year’s resolutions, this year or any year. I quit playing that foolish game decades ago. Oh, yes, at one time I would earnestly write down all the things that I was going to do improve myself and my environment, and I actually thought that there was a possibility that some items on the list would truly be addressed. It didn’t take too long until I realized that the actuality of doing any of those lofty things was practically zero. So I quit, and have seen no reason to resume this fantasy.

These days, I just promise myself time to rest every day, have time to read, time to drink coffee and tea, and time to curse the demoncrats and the communists that have ruined life for most of us in America.

My life plan did not include suffering from inflation, a weakened military defense, a regressive economy, too many taxes, overpriced everything, and idiots in control in the government bodies in Washington, D.C. My plan for these years was to enjoy the fruits of a lifetime of labor, travel to wherever I wanted to go, plant all the flowers I wanted, and take care of grandchildren and beautiful dogs, while still being able to contribute to my church and community. I keep trying to fulfill these goals, and do fairly well on some, but it’s not nearly as easy and as pleasant as I had planned.

It would probably serve me well to just ignore the national news, concentrate on mundane issues, and go to sleep at night, thinking all is well. But, BUT, that is not the way I am put together. I can read, and understand what I read, but will never understand the people who are in power, who HATE America, American values, and all the good things that made us the light of a darkened world.

So much money wasted on the Ukraine, one of the most corrupt countries in the world. Millions paid to them, laundered and sent back to the DNC to put demoncrats in office. Millions sent to the enemies of our country so that they can buy weapons for themselves or for terrorists, to attack our countrymen and even our country. Millions wasted on garbage issues when our veterans are homeless and living in the streets.

What is the cost of all these millions of illegal aliens, invading our country, overrunning hospitals, schools, rescue facilities, people’s properties on the border? What will it take to cleanup the mountains of trash that they leave in their wake? When will they start demanding that we give up our homes to these invaders, because they didn’t have a “fair start” in life, like we did?

In the Netherlands, 3,000 farmers are having their land stolen to take it out of production, and they are not being given an option to keep their land. The state must have it, and by golly, their government is stealing it from these families. Taking that many food producers out of the equation is going to work out as less food in supermarkets and higher prices for what is there. Will this insanity move to France, Great Britain, the United States in the near future; who can say with any authority, that it won’t come to us.

The call for reparations has reared its ugly head again; like clockwork, it is brought up every year by the disgruntled and the greedy. Years ago when this ignorance first started, I wrote an article and flat out demanded that the English pay reparations to me for the way they treated my Scottish and Irish ancestors, back in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. I also demanded that the US government pay reparations to all of us whose ancestors were treated so badly in Reconstruction times. So far, I haven’t received a dime from either entity.

That’s the same amount I propose the whiners get now. Reparations from slavery is the call for justice for today’s blacks, and they are quite serious that people who were never slaves be given money from people who never owned slaves. Do you realize that blacks have received over ten trillion dollars in welfare payments, food stamps, free housing, free educations, free child care, free childcare allowances, and free medical care. Of course, free is a misnomer, for it none of it is free; it is tax money paid in by people who work for a living, and see their earnings decimated by taxes from federal, state, and local governments, and given to the those who choose not to pull their own weight and contribute to society.

And now there must be reparations on top of the ten trillion dollars…give me strength to keep from running in circles and screaming like a banshee.

Oh, and by the way, Happy New Year1 I will resolve to try and remain stable at least in the first quarter of 2023.

  1. Those resolutions are fantasies. But, I’ll try one I have never tried.

I resolve to make good use of one of my Christmas presents, even if it takes me the whole year, or what part of it remains, after Ukraine goes nuclear, and that is one thing that has the best chance of happening in our coming year, if anyone is left to push the button.

    Happy New Year, Alma.

    PS
Running in circles and screaming like a banshee sounds workable. Make a heck of a diet. I might end up doing that, myself. I wouldn’t even have to watch the news, after all that happened this year.
