With military recruitment in the tank for all services, talk of enlisting the use of illegal aliens to shore up shortfalls, and continued public relations challenges stemming from out of the mainstream (illegal) policy on abortion, insane LGBTQ and physical fitness standards issues, it seems perfectly natural that a Department of Defense Office overseeing special operations would invite “two terrorism experts” to discuss their book on far-right terrorism in the US.
The DoD Special Operations, Low Intensity Conflict (SOLIC) touts this as the first in a “Brown Bag Type Series” of presentations with internal and external speakers. And why wouldn’t this be the first topic right out of the gate, given the apparent relevancy to the SOLIC mission in the minds of our hopelessly ineffectual, woke and tainted DoD leadership?
Austin and his Racism Advisor having utterly failed to find any evidence for the made-up narrative about the “scourge of the 10% racist extremist whites” in the military that are so nefarious they somehow rose to and gained the attention of the Secretary of Defense-his apparent number one priority upon waiver into the office-and yet have not figured prominently-if at all-in any criminal investigations, incident reporting, significant activity reporting-at least according to the recent DoD report issued on the topic, culminating nearly three years of frankly a total idjiotic pursuit that is likely-along with the total idjiotcy of the renaming commission actions-the predominant factor in tanking recruitment across the services.
The major issue I have with some of these truly half assed attempts at doing “something” is precisely that: is it too much to ask of government leadership charged with setting policy for the service of our sons and daughters to get their shit together before offering opinion on issues they obviously lack data to back up?
We could hire total rubes off the street who could do better than the jackasses who have been hired in over the last decade or so, but truly culminating in the current crew that has proven incapable of passing the most rudimentary issue in the military 101, “rules for dumbasses” handbook.
The first rule of order is when something is not working or not right, you have to (1) identify the problem-followed shortly thereafter by (2) gathering the information. Now I was not a true genius during my enlisted years or officer time-that came later with retirement-but quite often as you gather the information-which I should point out has nothing to do with “cherries” and “picking,” you often revisit what you thought the problem was in the first place. And one thing that is almost guaranteed in the endeavor is that it is very difficult to solve a problem that has yet to be identified.
You probably don’t need one, but a great example in this regard is making it so males and females do the same physical fitness test-a pretty novel idea-kind of like returning to the 1970s and the five-event test that everybody shared. There was a male standard and a female standard, because it makes sense to have totals and males tend to do better on physical fitness tests: its not rocket science.
Any casual read of the pablum and inflammatory language associated with Austin’s attempt at getting his hands around “extremism” as the literal boogie man challenge he is facing down in this extraordinary time in our history where if you swing a dead cat you hit a military crisis ongoing, in the making, or smoldering threatening to burst into flames, tells you all you need to know about this priority occupying his in-box: it is a bunch of leftist, hyperbolic poppy cock that is not even a good enough story that a fiction writer could peddle.
This article at Military.com about the report is exactly what I am referring to with a lead in picture of the 6 Jan 2021 riot-which this rag seems to be incentivized somehow to call an insurrection-or to just work that into the story throughout as if repeating it makes it so. But I think the biggest tell about leftist pearl clutching on this “issue” is the liberal and frequent use of the term “extreme” generously sprinkled throughout the piece as if the term stands alone somehow in what it means.
I think it becomes clear why DoD has been unable to make progress on this declared number one priority when some of the items being looked for include blather and generalities that range from high school-like dispute issues to banalities that are about as detailed and important as looking for “bad people.” This extract somewhat sums it up:

An extremist is “a person who has extremist views, supports extremist groups and is prone to behave in extremist ways.” And you are welcome…
How hard can it be to find people advocating terrorism, overthrow of the government, or fundraising for an extremist group? Hell, those have been interview and polygraph questions for Special Background Investigations to obtain TS/SCI clearances for most of my adult life in the business-over four decades. I think the worst part is that these jackbutts are offering blather like that as if it is (a) original thought (b) helpful.
So enter SOLIC-with recruitment tanking, all the low-level efforts ongoing in Africa, South America, Philippines, Europe, Middle East, etc., with threats of both illegals and immigrants not assimilating into destination countries—like ours-representing existential threats to culture and process and undermining entire systems-health, welfare, crime, education, social structure, I guess you could make an argument that it is the perfect time to look internal to America’s radical right for lessons learned: but I don’t thin so Lucy….
What DoD mission focused subject is this on, containing radicals in America? Which arm of the Austin DoD is on that mission?
It is insulting to many thinking Americans that “far-Right” is even in the title here, given the miniscule numbers-and every time a decent analysis is done-there are more feds in the soup than there are KKK or “right-wing” radicals…that has been the case since the 50s with the commies in Hollywood and our government scare-although there was a lot of smoke and quite a bit of fire there–in fact RFK as AG found that the KKK/Radical Right of the early 1960s consisted of just about half Feds-and the majority of their funding was coming from FBI dues-paying Hoover-ites on the payroll…I think the estimate was around 2500-big whoop…
The mythology of the far or extremist right has grown largely from data that is almost as tainted with hyperbole and false analogies as climate change-with its doomsday clock of like 6 years left and counting…
If this is a serious thing, you would think the larger focus would be on true threats to America on a regional and local basis—there is a tight weave with the SOLIC part of the narrative that was all the rage coming out of Vietnam and battling Soviet influence around the world in places like Africa, Chile, Nicaragua, etc., which (SOLIC) grew out of the original Army position that was somewhat up gunned to become the DoD USDI in 2003.
One of my issues with these “establishment” efforts is they are like one part of the puzzle and lack balance. For instance when ANTIFA and BLM were marauding through Washington DC in 2000 harassing tourists, diners, attendees at the President Trump re-election announcement, the only entities that offered to deter them toe-to-toe were folks like the Proud Boys: the only thing a lot of those gang-like soy-boys understood regarding the ramifications of being rude and confrontational was the threat-and reality-of a good old fashioned ass whupping.
DC Capital Police reneged on their duties to secure the capital throughout this violent time period-apparently at the behest of Mayor Bow Wow. It was not only happening in DC, but throughout cities in America where billions of dollars of damages were done and a dozen murders or so by out of control rioters who were treated with kid gloves as if they were entitled to violence : “because.”
Recall they were the only groups given a pass to congregate outside during COVID lockdowns “because.” I would submit the devastation in a community like Ferguson Missouri-where the Obama DOJ debunked the fake narrative of “”Hands Up, Don’t Shoot” propagated by lefty, radical, racist driven blacks, destroyed a town and sponsored massive fundraising by avowed socialist-leftists whose original charter included the destruction of the “black nuclear family”-at a time when out of wedlock birth-no father in the home was over 70%-and the poverty level for those families was like 48%.
Or later similar community destruction in the wake of the drug induced death of Floyd, events culminating in the revival of the leftist inspired Occupy Wall Street effort, that morphed into ANTIFA and the Black Liberation Revival Movement from the 1960s fueled by both inside lefty/liberal money-and external US dark money sources linked to politics.
How is it possible to look at “extremism” in America and not include these groups, which have not been looked at or assessed as part of this “radical focus?”
But let’s play the silly political game….What was the most serious threat to US leadership since 9-11? It’s not close-it is not the faux 6 Jan Insurrection charade-the leadership of the US was never in jeopardy-and the process that was disrupted took place-with a delay of a few hours-the most serious threat had to be the pipe bombs-but we will know more about that when they catch the feds who did it.
Contrast that with the incident on June 1 2020 after the DC Mayor named the adjoining area to the WH Black Lives Matter Way and the crowd grew unruly enough to cause DJT to be evacuated to the bunker. I just went through several pages of internet searches and it is all about the dispute on why he was in the bunker, calling him out like he was cowering in the bunker, failing to report that Bowser did not deploy the DC Cap police to contain the crowd.
So the SS had to do an all hands on deck deployment-put out the fire in St. Johns-saved the statue in Lafayette Square-the report was some ~140 SS and WH security were injured. The WH security was breached that day and a president evacuated by the SS: the result of a home-grown threat that is likely not even mentioned in this book nor discussed as part of this this seminar-or the desired narrative ongoing here.
The next day the Cap Police deployed-and they gassed and dispersed the crowd-but for a week to ten days it was blamed on the feds in the wake of the DJT visit to the church-the infamous photo op-and Milley’s apology tour for going with DJT officials on the walk. Just imagine if the right had chased Obama or Biden to the bunker-oh my god the pearl clutching would be glorious to see…
Nearly four years later it is almost impossible to get the story straight because DJT did not want it known that he was evacuated to the bunker-it was leaked-but you never want protestors to know you can have that kind of effect on our government. But that became a Bad Orange Man vanity play, rather than a security issue, because the systemic leaks in the DJT WH-which many thought were “great” cause Trump, had gotten so rampant and out of control that DJT started using the “death penalty” in the context of leakers. And-again-be honest about how upsetting and stressful that would have been on your pearls were it Obama or Biden people leaking…
Here is an example of these dangerous right wingers right here-they are threatening to convince people to keep their babies-we must not tolerate this type of dangerous, heinous, extremist activity (apparently…)
Just to belabor the obvious, you can see why our government struggles to help the feckless Austin run the DoD, when the accepted vernacular for extremists includes folks who are pro-children and anti-abortion, religious, believe that marriage is between a man and a woman, prefer to keep men out of woman’s bathrooms, do not support males competing with females, and prefer to have terrorist be pure and not some mixture of feds and lost or somewhat confused and disaffected Americans-that seem to always have a “Fed link” while struggling in their daily lives.
