Does this happen in your town? I live in the mountains of rural North Carolina. We moved here because it was someplace you’d like to live. Small and welcoming. The people, the mountains gave off an aura of acceptance and peace. It truly has a Norman Rockwell feel.
Imagine my surprise however when I stopped at a red-light in front of the courthouse and saw this, “PRESIDENT BIDEN, STOP THE GAZA GENOCIDE.” I saw it just after it was reported that 12 Druze children were killed on a Golan Heights soccer pitch by a Hezbollah rocket targeting civilians; and that 5 more hostages were found dead. After I saw pro-Hamas “supporters” deface our monuments, assault police, tear down a Federal building’s flag, burn it, and replace it with a Palestinian flag. All with impunity and, I believe, the knowledge that nothing was going to happen to them. And they were right.
I’ll admit I yelled at the sign guy using somewhat “salty” language. Language which would have turned my behind bright red in my younger years. But I was somewhat “distressed” to put it mildly. And years of martial arts training went down the drain as my viking and Scot heritage loudly surfaced. Do I feel ashamed? No. Because I saw what the Khmer Rouge did in the 70s, the genocide of the Rwandan Tutsi in the 90s, and led aircrews in support of the air campaign in a genocidal Bosnia-Herzegovina war.
As I write this I’ve taken a deep breath–or two. But as I’m sure most of us realize, the only people that are participants in the Middle East genocidal hatred are Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthis—the Death to Israel-Death to America folks, Iranian proxies. Here’s a link to their Charter
I’d suggest reading Articles Seven, Twelve, Thirteen, and Seventeen for starters.
Coined in 1944, the term “Genocide” was recognized as a crime by the United Nations General Assembly in 1946. By definition genocide is, “..(the) intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial, or religious group.” That’s a far cry from what the Israelis are doing. But the useful idiots in the organs of the UN, many foreign nations, our own academia, and America’s spin media fail miserably to acknowledge what is actually occurring. “From the River to the Sea” calls for the extermination of the Jewish State. But is that cry alarming with the aforesaid entities or “protestors” here? No. Do they not realize that all of Israel is outside the wire. Yes, that’s rhetorical.
I’d be ashamed to support terrorists. And I am ashamed that some of my countrymen do. If we don’t stand with Israel and our “noble purpose” is silent in the face of deceit, terror, and mass murder, who will stand with us when confronted by rogue regimes? And that clock is ticking.
I guess “whatever it takes” doesn’t apply to Jews.
