In a criminal trial the prosecutor lays out the case with an opening statement boosting the jurors to think, that SOB must be guilty. Now comes the defendant’s attorney who tells the jury the prosecutor has it all wrong and the accused is innocent – the boost swings to the defendant. Then witnesses and evidence are presented followed by the prosecutor’s closing/boosting statements. However, the defendant’s lawyer will have the final say, thus boosting the defendant’s view – fresh on the jury’s mind.
For elections, substitute voters for jury and candidates for prosecutor and defendant’s lawyer. In other words, candidate Trump got a boost with the opening Republican convention statements. This was followed by the boost the Democrats got with Biden’s endorsement of Harris. The Dems will get another boost with the V.P. selection and their convention, thus giving them the advantage of having the last word and freshest take heading into the election.
But it ain’t over – if Joe resigns, Kamala gets an additional and huge boost running as an incumbent President. The boost closest to election might be the deciding factor in a tight race. Gotta wonder if Trump has a final boost plan.
