During the 2016 election campaign a single word, “deplorable,” created the division/animosity we have today. It was Hillery Clinton’s lumping, classifying, labeling – denigrating– not just an opponent or even a party – but half of America because they had different political views. It was then, consciously or subconsciously, citizens came face to face with the realization that there are three classes of Americans: The Elitist – those who believe they are better and smarter than all others; The Sheep – those who need someone to tell them what is best for them – and The Everyone Else.
The Everyone Else, looked at themselves and realized they might not be layered in college degrees and decades of political palling-around but they were certainly decent, law-abiding, god-fearing people – the opposite of deplorable. These laudables only wanted to decide what was best for themselves while not wishing to force control over their law-abiding neighbors.
Though the Dems haven’t been using the ‘deplorables’ term during this election era, the inference/smugness is still there as Harris and company tout their elitist agenda: the government will take-care-of-its-Sheep and will persecute, prosecute and tax those with initiative – The Everyone Else – until they say baaaa.
