Trump’s closing of USAID agency has stopped the delivery of tangible contraceptives. This could reverse declining birth rates in many countries. Do we want other nations to increase populations – especially those aid-dependent nations in African, Asian and the middle east?
If the Fed refuses to drastically lower the interest rates as Trump wishes and the economy tanks, he can blame them. However, if they significantly lower rates, it will reduce the deficit and encourage corporate capital spending – which he can claim credit for. Inflation and sales of government bonds is a balancing act greatly impacted by national interest rates.
Imported goods are cheaper when exporting countries have minimal worker wage rates and thus a lower standard of living. Though tariffs raise the cost of the goods here, tariffs create inflation which raises our standards of living. The enemy of inflation is deflation, not tariffs.
The photos of the “poor, starving Palestinians” might be staged, i.e., they appear to be neatly groomed, clean, rested and well-fed. Why are some countries willing to recognize a Palestinian state without knowing who will run it, what its physical boundaries will be and if their charter/constitution will assert the obliteration of Israel.
