Greek mythology says that hubris (excessive pride) inevitably meets Nemesis (the goddess of retribution). In the film Magnum Force, Detective Harry Callahan (A.K.A. Dirty Harry) was apparently a student of the Greek classics. He summarized the pride/consequences formulation as: “A man’s got to know his limitations.” When a man’s ambition exceeds his ability, calamity ensues.
The Grand Poohbah of unjustified pride has to be Joseph Robinette Biden – who suffers the curse of concurrent arrogance and stupidity.
Had Joey “SoftServe” shuffled off into retirement as the Vice President of a two-term President still adored by the Democrat party, he could have spent his golden years on the beach wearing an “elder stateman” mask. But that would have required him to see that being President takes more than riding on the big blue airplane, and making daily Baskin Robbins runs with a protective detail. It requires judgement. That was a level of wisdom Joe does not possess. Instead of exiting stage left after his stint as Vice President, Joe’s reach exceeded his grasp. To the detriment of us all, he opted to run for President.
Faced with a bench of arrogant, unlikeable, and “no talent” choices, the Democrat party managed to drag old Joe to an inauguration with a combination of deception, propaganda, illegal rule changes, and ballot shenanigans.
But when Joe put his hand on the Bible and swore to defend the Constitution, his fate was sealed. He had entered an office which far exceeded his ability. His façade reputation as a long-term public servant, would be exchanged for that of a failed President – because when you sit behind the desk where the buck stops, your limitations can’t be hidden.
In four short years (which seemed like an eternity), Biden became the worst President of the modern era – and future historians may even drop that “modern era” qualifier. The ghost of Jimmy Carter must be smiling.
Rather than defend the Constitution, the Biden administration attacked our civil liberties. He used the instruments of government to interfere with our worship, freedom of speech, and due process.
Biden threw our borders open and invited a foreign invasion. He flooded our country with murderers, rapists, slavers, and terrorists. The resulting chaos was predictable, and will require decades to correct.
Biden killed or maimed an untold number of Americans with COVID vaccine mandates. We don’t yet know how many of our countrymen died from an experimental treatment, because they were faced with submission or destitution. Experts are still struggling to understand the magnitude of the disaster.
Joey from Scranton financed Islamic terrorism by unfreezing Iranian assets. They used those assets to fund Hamas, Hezbollah, Houthis, and countless other purveyors of mayhem.
Mr. “Foreign Relations Experience” surrendered Afghanistan to the Taliban. In the process he left thousands of Americans and allies behind, and armed terrorists with billions of dollars’ worth of advanced military equipment.
Biden blessed the Russian invasion of Ukraine – telling “Vlad the Mad Russian” that a “little incursion” would be peachy. Casualties of this “little incursion” likely exceed 1.5 million people.
Joe Biden made government corruption undeniable, with billions of taxpayer dollars funneled to shady NGOs, Somalian con-artists, and political cronies. We still don’t know the magnitude of the looting, but it is likely in the trillions of dollars.
Biden’s justice department turned federal law enforcement into the Democrat party’s gestapo. The FBI surveilled conservatives as domestic threats, and the DoJ prosecuted political opponents.
Biden stood before an Independence Hall, bathed in ominous red light, and called those who didn’t vote for him “semi-fascists.” Such an assertion had only one purpose: to set brother against brother. Political violence – up to and including assassination attempts – has become the norm since that address.
Before leaving office, President “Autopen” pardoned thousands of criminals – while simultaneously chanting, “No one is above the law.” He even pardoned members of his own family; after swearing he’d do no such thing. Many of his pardons were preemptive in nature – releasing criminals from any fear of future prosecution.
Radical leftists gave a foul-mouthed grinning idiot from Delaware the office that he coveted, and he repaid them by granting their every wish – with absolutely no moderation. But in the end, America’s worst President inadvertently disproved the governing philosophy of the left, and made the public yearn for a return of Donald J. Trump – Joe Biden’s arch enemy. Clearly President “Autopen” didn’t understand his limitations. It turns out there are things that even the most powerful person in the world can’t force upon “we the people.”
The administration of the “President who never should have been” came to an inglorious end when it became undeniably clear that he was neither intellectually nor ethically fit for office – something which should have been clear when he campaigned from his basement and shared financial accounts with his con-artist son.
Now his post-Presidency isn’t a celebration of “a job well done.” It has become an endless struggle to hide the awfulness of his time behind the Resolute Desk. Former aids are dodging testimony, bureaucrats are hiding evidence, his wife is telling fairy tales while calling it a memoir, and Joe is trying to claim executive privilege to seal audio tapes of his conversations.
But in a shocking display of intelligence exceeded by arrogance, Joe Biden denied Presidential privilege to Ex-President Trump – something which no President had ever done to a predecessor. Now Donald Trump is back in office and has returned the favor – denying Presidential privilege to Joe Biden. I believe Dirty Harry would call that karma. All the dirt created by the Biden administration is coming out – slowly but inevitably.
The exposure has turned Joe’s retirement into a life of bitterness.
- Nobody’s interested in his third memoir. (The fact that there are three speaks volumes about the man’s hubris.)
- Unlike his predecessors, he’s not getting rich on speaking fees.
- Nobody is asking him for his advice.
- His fellow Dems don’t want him on the campaign trail.
- Donors are steering clear of his Presidential library.
- His subordinates are scrambling to avoid prosecution – many probably plotting to trade Joe’s freedom for theirs.
- MSM propagandists are begging Joe to just go away.
When Barack Obama left office, Vice President Biden could have spent his remaining years on the beach, play acting “I’m a great man.” Instead, the man who didn’t know his limitations, has written a different legacy – as a petty, vindictive, crook, who did incredible damage to the country and his party.
If only he’d heeded the advice of Dirty Harry before he deluded himself into thinking he was up to the most difficult job in the world.
