The All-Important Mid-Terms Clarify: It’s The Sliding Leftward Democrats (?) Against The Increasingly Reticent To Lead Republicans

One Side Is Doing The Electric Slide Socialist Style, While The Other Is Torn Between Whining About Being Forced To Lead And Finding Ways To Avoid It

Referring to many of the most vocal politicians who have a “D” next to their names as such is like referring to discussions with the “death to America and death to Israel” crowd as “peace negotiations.”

I’m not sure either case passes for rational thought and certainly not action. It is increasingly true that the likelihood of a good outcome emerging from either identified group is unlikely.

How bad has it gotten on the democrat side? How about every democrat left of center agent oranged leftward or expunged out of the party: marginalized to the point of dismissal?

The long list of bumper stickers and propaganda passing for ideas and policy is reminiscent of hippy nonsense from the 1960s, like drug culture smashed into green culture bashed against lefty economics and communist slogans colliding with low or no ambition ne’re do wells and communes led by the idle presenting as the intelligentsia.

The number of in theory democrat candidates spewing inanities and unhinged positions–and proud to do so–has increased every year in the 21st century. Driven by the need to stand out from the average fringe positions to increasingly lunatic positions, unbridled by any semblance of common sense or lived experience or the need to explain how their aberrant ideas will work.

Supported by an increasingly younger and younger constituency who embraces and endorses what can only be described as the 21st century version of sticking it to the man, which in the vernacular of youth increasingly means the system and translates to capitalism or democracy or both: or anything, even things they supported yesterday–or earlier today.

The point is giving airtime to unhinged anger and raging at the moon with no pretense of rationality. Like a toddler banging on the tray of their highchair.

Senator John Fetterman—he who in recovering from a recent stroke and well-publicized battle of recovery—is suddenly the voice of reason and moderation in an increasingly sadly predictable, anti-everything democrat party. He recently observed that “our party is becoming an orgy of socialism,” and described things as a time of “the dancing days of the dirt bag left.”

Which is not only interesting that he said the quiet part out loud that many on that side of the aisle were thinking, but more noteworthy that there was no immediate defense or outcry that it wasn’t true.

There will be a predictable and lamentable effort to primary him from his left in the future, as the one thing you cannot do in todays democrat party is speak an inconvenient truth in the midst of the iron curtain of the “big tent” propaganda where you have to get onboard with increasingly leftist and crazy candidates and politicians.

James Carville—the “raging Cajun”—in the midst of an unhinged diatribe spouting how afflicted with Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) he is and glad to have it, in a rant shouting what a glorious state it is to celebrate and bask in the glow of, nonetheless in the midst of a rant for the ages differentiated against the lemming-like emergence of the increasingly farther left socialist wing of the democratic party.

Going so far as to say what rational democrats should be saying: it is a bridge too far to welcome such views into the party. That these voices who tout communism and socialism and the goal of the ultimate demise of western society should not be seated as democrats, as they do not share democrat values nor have much in common with the democrat platform.

Which is a problem because of the emerging democrat platform that continues to slide left a “smidge” at a time to accommodate this notion of the “big tent” mantra, because the base being energized to participate and vote–seem to agree with the issues being embraced in the tent: and those issues are increasingly weaponized against incumbents.

Aberrant and proud of it LGBTQMOUSE2Spirit+ California politician Scott Weiner is one of the latest victims, getting heckled, shamed and chased away from a Trans Parade because he is Jewish and not a Free Palestine, anti-Israel zealot. You can be 95% in lockstep with this embraced “big tent crew” but will be ostracized if you are not 100 percent in step.

New York Congressman Dan Goldman-who led the TDS parade during a Trump impeachment, is gone because of his now considered too radical view of supporting Israel: he is too close to the Israeli’s.

When democrat leader Hakeem Jeffries face was displayed on the screen at the leftist celebration for an aberrant candidate who supplanted what in ordinary times would have been a historically safe member of congress, mostly white young lefty liberals shouted that “he is next.” Forget about democrat party leader in the abyss of a lack of clarity, never mind any default to a potential racial animus implication, fuggetabout any insinuation that the democrat big tent is looney lefty 24x7x365 and gunning for any who do not toe the line.

When asked about it, Jeffries touted “big tent” and “common philosophy” on most issues: and attacked Trump. He is observing new times with a “back to the future” lens, blissfully unaware–or scared spitless–of the trend that is emerging on the far left of the democrat “big tent” that is a threat to any incumbent who does not toe the line 100% with the crazies, who do not and will not compromise.

Democrats keep touting a bigger tent but they are sheep inviting wolves into their party to discuss what’s for dinner: and it is them…Many hand wringers seemed somewhat stunned by this turn of political events, this self-inflicted increasingly mortal wound.

This is what you get when you invite the equivalent of the French Revolution blueprint where the beheadings and ostracizing are emotionally based and irrational, with no tolerance for even a modicum of a measured response or reasonable discussion. In the litmus test of who is in and who is out, the mob decides and it becomes impossible to keep up with–or meet–the ever increasingly nuanced purity litmus test.

Paul Simon said it best: Slip sliding away. Remember when recent Vice-Presidential candidate and historic moderate Senator Joe Lieberman could not win a primary election to hold his seat as the incumbent in Connecticut? He had to reflag as an independent because he could not win as a democrat, mere years removed from being second on the democrat ticket.

He would later lose his seat when he called candidate and fellow senator Obama out as having not sponsored or supported any bi-partisan legislation in the senate and lacking the necessary experience to run for president: Lieberman supported Republican colleague McCain. Lieberman also called out the lunacy of a single payer or government “public option” healthcare plan: which would become the unmitigated disaster of the Unaffordable Care Act.

Being right (correct) means nothing in such an environment.

It has been a steady downhill slide for the democrats for two decades since, but it started earlier when Clinton coined the addition of the appeasing “rare” aspect in 1992 modifying the formerly safe, and legal abortion rhetoric one better. Which would be eliminated (rare) for the 2012 election when it became an embarrassing tour de farce as rare became synonymous with millions of abortions a year as it became the preferred birth control method of choice, and would later still inspire a party litmus test of abortion on demand, which was shortly thereafter expanded to include up through and including birth.

There was also the earlier failure of the Obama administration to show up in court for the Defense of Marriage Act after his veritable Kabuki dance about the topic during his election campaign.

No pity for the democrats who have brought this carnage on themselves through their increasingly aberrant machinations to get power. Embracing all manner of causes no matter how far out of the mainstream, reshaping the democrat party to extrude moderates from participation or discussion, expanding the Overton Window on what constitutes acceptable political positions, embracing extreme tactics and remaining silent when violence is undertaken on their behalf, touting anti-whatever is necessary to counter Trump-which translates into undermining authority at every level through well-funded lawfare efforts– and increasingly violent protests.

The complete lack of irony in recent Obama comments about the need and desire for a credible, reasonable opposition when it comes to politics is just classic modern day democrat nonsense spewing when you consider how patently dogmatic he was in his treatment of republican rivals McCain, Romney and Ryan—among others–as well as his undermining race relations during his reign through his intemperate and crass political commentary and remarks unlike any of his peers (ex-presidents) that continues today.

Including his incredible tin eared comments about weaponizing government.

This article by Brookings (The Fragile Legacy of Barrack Obama) tells a different and frank story that places the Obama legacy in a different light that wades into the unvarnished truth of how we got here. Making it clear this lurch to the left is less of a knee jerk and much more representative of a lack of leadership that suffocated any emerging talent while undermining and fracturing the democrat issue base through increasingly extreme litmus tests that allowed for zero degrees of separation or freedom.

The demise did not happen yesterday or recently and is not a direct reaction to Trump or TDS among democrats but is in actuality the erosion of a created 21st century narrative called “change and hope” that was built from paper machete, bubble gum, bailing wire, hype and hatred for George W. Bush: it didn’t deliver. The evidence of which is the aberrant policy emerging from increasingly un-democratic candidates.

This crazy brew in the cauldron of American left politics has been ongoing for 60 years or more if you consider the rage of the 1960s and the success of the anti-war movement that spawned an invasion of college campuses across the country which inevitably resulted in the infiltration of academia and the perversion of the education system from within, by those entrusted to run it.

I mentioned in previous articles about coming face-to-face with this phenomenon in 1988-1989 in Arizona during the democrat inspired lawfare against newly elected Governor Meacham, who was the target of non-stop political animus and eventually lawfare as he was impeached at the time because the democrats had the power to do so in pursuit of retaking control of the state.

Among the tells that this was the product of leftist dogma and doctrine being well funded by what was up to that time considered fringe rabble rousers using union-like (mafia) tactics on non-supporters, was the out of left field–to most of us ordinary citizens—attack on Christopher Columbus amidst the drive to enshrine a holiday for Martin Luther King: in a state with very few blacks.

Much of the propagandized apparent source of the hate for Columbus and the charges aimed at the rest of us for occupying “stolen land” was lost on many of us. My wife and I in particular, having returned from four years of military service in Germany and unskilled in fringe, made up issues. The concept of hating Columbus some nearly 400 years after his journey based upon the “stolen land” narrative went completely over our heads.

What passed for an organic movement against Meacham was the furthest thing from it, a product of the well-funded left during a time when it was hard to imagine or believe that such fringe ideas warranted any attention at all.

Which is how these ludicrous ideas from truly aberrant candidates get momentum, grow legs, and thrive as what would in ordinary times be dismissed as a farce—or fringe idea or movement—manages to gain a toehold somewhat under the waterline and eventually provides the wherewithal for marginal candidates to compete in elections as serious candidates.

Who today are winning, often propelled by the youth vote who are much more empowered and energized than their somewhat asleep at the switch potential balancing opposition. Aided by loose election policy, complicated by problematic voting accommodations such as Ranked Choice Voting (Alaska) and concepts like unaffiliated voters (Colorado) whose number has increased to nearly 40% of the electorate and who can block vote against strong opposition candidates by voting for fringe elements to ensure their desired candidate faces the most unpopular opposition (in a state where the democrat candidate is not threatened.)

Not to mention widespread mail-in ballots, ballot harvesting, and extended ballot counting beyond election day where the “honor system” with no checks and balances can choreograph miraculous outcomes in the post-election day period when the number to steal is a known amount and there are no safeguards against manipulation.

The Arizona example is not unlike what would happen to Virginia Governor Bob McDonald in 2013, who was harassed and hounded and lawfared and later acquitted by the Supreme Court, with his once-promising political career in shambles.

What was suspected but could not be foreseen at the time with Meacham’s impeachment was the shifting sands of political guerilla warfare that has resulted in zany, arcane and hubris laden political shenanigans in Arizona for close to four decades now, including this ongoing and bizarre high school drama involving the management, conduct and control of elections. Which is a good read but a really long story that explains how a Republican In Name Only named Richter—who made national news for his failure to secure Arizona elections—conspired with the Maricopa County Commission to transfer functions of his former office to control aspects of the election apparatus–computers and election centric equipment—to the commission—after he had lost the primary–to neuter his successor and keep him from implementing long overdue election fixes on problems that have plagued over 10 years of Arizona elections.

Which is why Arizona citizens cannot have nice things when it comes to elections.

While Virginia—under the supposedly moderate Abigail Spanberger and an increasingly liberal and leftist democrat majority—recently took the incredible, un-Virginia step of agreeing to disenfranchise Virginians of all stripes by signing into law that Virginia’s delegate electoral college votes would go to the winner of the popular vote. Which has been done by a number of lefty leaning, increasingly un-democratic states but has yet to be critically reviewed from a constitutional standpoint in the courts system.

I don’t even want to get started on how far left Colorado has drifted in the last 8 years but suffice it to say the trend of moving companies being a leading business in Colorado–going one way—does not seem in any danger of slowing down in the near future.

All the more reason the republicans should be absolutely shoe-ins this fall for the mid-terms, right: not exactly…
