Trump calls the tellers of tall tales, who call themselves journalists, “fake news” — and took some much-needed action against them. The left went nuts while MAGA giggled on the sidelines. What did the Donald do that has brought our republic to the brink of collapse? He banished CNN, MS NOW, and Politico from the White House. Not all networks. Not even a majority of reporters. Just the provable liars.
Now the crazies in what the commies call the Democrat party are screaming “tyrant!” — again, and it’s getting tiring. They assure us his action is an “Afront to the 1st Amendment” — as if they’ve actually read the Constitution. They warn that “democracy dies in darkness’’ — while hoping we don’t notice that they turned the lights off on Biden corruption, Fauci malfeasance, Miley treason, and Garland lawfare.
But the silliest claim is that Donald Trump has made a huge mistake, which he will soon regret.
Li Zhou is sure he will rue the day he took this ill-advised action. She has an article up at the Huffington Post entitled: “Trump Opened a Huge Can of Worms with His Press Ban.” Given that President Trump only banned the liars, not the press, I knew this piece would be a doozy, and Zhou didn’t disappoint.
Ms. Zhou points out that CNN, MS NOW, and Politico are about to humiliate the Trump administration with a lawsuit they are certain to win. Well, since her article came out, a judge has in fact ordered the White House to restore access to the propagandists. But her point remains irrelevant. As General George Washington might point out to her; one can lose a lot of battles and still win a revolution. Trump lost the court battle … after getting the whole country talking about “fake news” — in the lead up to the midterm election.
Next Ms. Zhou warned that the networks will get their revenge:
After CNN was removed from the White House TV press pool, the other four networks that make up the White House television pool — ABC News, CBS News, Fox News and NBC News ― said they also won’t participate in solidarity with the network. That meant there was no professional video coverage of certain Trump White House events, including a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the White House on Monday
She must not have noticed that ABC, NBC, and CNN refused to air President Trump’s last nationwide address (about election integrity) — and that was before the current “1st Amendment crisis.” Given that the networks are only willing to let the President speak to the nation when it suits them (i.e. doesn’t suit him), I’m sure he’s quaking in his boots over their refusal to no longer pick and choose what they cover.
Next Zhou warned that Trump’s move was fracturing the Republican party. I can almost see her grinning as she typed:
Trump’s policy is also squeezing other Republican lawmakers, who are being pressed on the move. Privately, GOP members have raised concerns about the policy, but they’re wary of speaking out against Trump
I presume she’s talking about Republican lawmakers like Cronyn, Massie, and Thune. She may be shocked to learn that the MAGA patriots that elected the MAGA president aren’t particularly worried about the opinions of the RINO’s that make a career of enabling the enemy.
Next Zhou warns that to retaliate; the press will be scrutinizing those in Trump’s orbit, looking for anything they can spin into a scandal. Seriously? Have I been reading a satire, or is she really warning that because of the banishment, the press is going to continue doing what they’ve been doing since Donald Trump entered politics?
I’d like to make an observation about Zhow’s article. Her observations are dead on. But her conclusion is not. Everything she predicts, is happening, or will happen soon – and it all plays into Trump’s hands.
The Donald is fighting a multi-axis war for the soul of America. One of those axes is information. The left has been using propaganda to undermine America’s founding principles since at least the Franklin Roosevelt administration. The mainstream media have been willing accomplishes in that deception since the Vietnam War.
The public depends on accurate information upon which to base their electoral decisions. But the mainstream media decided a long time ago that their mission was to influence rather than inform the public. To achieve that objective, they have become propagandists (i.e. liars).
When Dan Rather of CBS news was caught using falsified evidence to undermine President Bush, he said his reporting was “fake but accurate” — it sent the right message even though it was based on falsehoods. Facts don’t matter. Only the message (i.e. propaganda) matters.
So how does one defeat propaganda? By breaking through the deception, and allowing the public to see the truth. From “a few good people” to “dead soldiers are losers,” the propagandists have gotten way out over their skis. The facts are on Trump’s side. With lawsuits and media scrutiny, the whole country is talking about “fake news” — a battlespace which is not friendly to the propagandists. The more we talk about “fake news,” the more their credibility sinks — and they’re giving the Donald a platform.
Getting back to the title of Ms. Zhou’s piece: Did Donald Trump open a can of worms? Yup! You have to open the can to reveal the worms inside.
