A Retrospective on a Debate with a TDS-Inflicted Person

Now that the polls are cratering – predictably! – for The Hologram, it is a good time for revisiting some of the email and social media debates conducted with Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS)-afflicted people in the run-up to the 2020 election. Do any of the people who ostensibly voted for Biden have any regrets at this point? Not that I can ascertain although it is hilarious watching them get triggered by the “Let’s Go Brandon” slogan these days, which is one of the greatest victories on the culture front that the Right has had in recent memory.

Here’s one guy (a retired naval officer, no less) who was adamant about replacing President Trump back in September 2020. To set the table, the below provides his political perspective. It is easy to ascertain his politics:

It is apparent to me that you have had more than your fill of the “kool-aid” that has poisoned the political discussion forum in my own country (I would say “our” country if I thought you really cared about something bigger than just trashing anyone who does not believe what you believe).

If you believe the Republican party, and its un-American attitude and behavior is the “new normal”, and you support the utter filth that is Donald Trump, than you have no place in this country now or in the future.

I am ashamed of the United States. More than I was ashamed of my own country after I was spit upon and harassed as I sat on a bus from San Francisco Airport to Travis AFB in 1974, on my way to my first duty station as a US Navy Sailor. More than I was ashamed of my own country after I witnessed a sitting President commit what I knew to be a war crime by invading Iraq without justification. More ashamed than the day in 2016 when I heard US Senator Mitch McConnell state publicly that he would not allow (elected, sitting) US President Obama to appoint a replacement US Supreme Court Justice during the last six months of his second term of office. DONALD TRUMP’S PRESIDENCY is the single, largest, most destructive collective mistake in history.

[Personal information deleted.] Shame on you for supporting this blatant abuse of power by both the Executive and the Legislative branches of our federal government.

I just pray this nightmare ends November 3, and we begin the year 2021 with a hope that our federal government will turn from the despicable behavior of these last four years and reconnect with the world, and with our people.

Not willing to let his delusions stand unaddressed, I replied with the following:

[Your] despicable and hate-filled comments require virtually a line-by-line rebuttal. But before I get to that, I will remind you that, in a public forum (albeit a moderator-controlled news group), you just blatantly violated Article 88 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice:

Any commissioned officer who uses contemptuous words against the President, the Vice President, Congress, the Secretary of Defense, the Secretary of a military department, the Secretary of Homeland Security, or the Governor or legislature of any State, Commonwealth, or possession in which he is on duty or present shall be punished as a court-martial may direct.

The above as quoted from here

BTW, you can be recalled to active duty and court-martialed accordingly. One would think that as a “lawyer” you would know this already, but then Democrat clowns like you think you can get away with murder – just like Obama and his minions think they can regarding Crossfire Hurricane and efforts to impeach President Trump on baseless charges.

First of all, I note that you did not reply to a single fact presented in my email. And that’s because you know damn well that I am right. That you chose to respond emotionally and attack me personally confirms that you are just like the average mindless Democrat these days who has swallowed whole the endless lies about President Trump propagated over the last 4 years by the Democrat-media complex. Did you EVER wonder why not a single one of their baseless charges over the last four years has ever stuck? If there was direct evidence of ANYTHING, don’t you think he would have been long gone and in jail by now? How many more lies along these lines can you swallow before your start questioning the liars themselves?

And yet here you are making baseless, emotional charges and repeating clichés based on lies probably gotten from the Democrats and their lickspittle media. I await your substantiation of any of your ridiculous claims (e.g., “the Republican party, and its un-American attitude and behavior”) with facts and evidence. I remind you that it’s not the Republican Party that:

1. Is aiding and abetting lawless in the streets (and are de facto against law and order).

2. Is covering for the likes of Comey, McCabe, Yates, Strzok, and others who committed sedition against a sitting president of the United States.

3. Is actually funding and raising money off two domestic terrorist organizations, Antifa and BLM.

4. Is prolonging state economic shutdowns for the ChiCom virus baloney, as discussed here

5. Has a presidential and VP candidate who have yet to condemn the BLM/Antifa violence.

This would be the Democrat Party, i.e., the REAL source of the “unAmerican attitude and behavior” about which you shed crocodile tears.

You’re ashamed of the US? On what basis? It’s a cliche. What are you “ashamed about”? The budding peace deal in the Middle East that has eluded every president over the past 70 years except for the political outsider Donald Trump? That we finally have a POTUS who is pushing back against the ChiCom menace who have been eating our lunch since Nixon opened China in ’72? That we have a president who delivered on criminal justice reform targeted at black Americans when the likes of Obama talked about it and did nothing? That we had a president who delivered the lowest unemployment across minority groups in American history until the Democrats and ChiComs teamed up on wrecking the US economy with the virus? That we finally have a president that is ending foreign wars in the Middle East?

Come on. Be specific about what makes you ashamed of the US.

You claim to be a retired [naval officer]. Fine. I just hope you didn’t let your gross biases affect your performance or influence any peers or subordinates because your geopolitical notions are despicable. Just because you served doesn’t mean you get a free and unchallenged pass on your stupid beliefs. For example, if you truly believed that Bush 43 “committed a war crime” by invading Iraq (never mind that the US Senate including Kerry and Shrillary voted for the 2003 war resolution!), then you should have resigned your commission in protest. But the fact that you didn’t shows you to be the gutless, characterless hypocrite that you really are.

BTW, I am a retired naval officer, too. I’ve seen abuse of power first-hand and been a victim of it. You say, “Shame on you for supporting this blatant abuse of power by both the Executive and the Legislative branches of our federal government.” What on Earth are you talking about? Again, be specific and get past your ridiculous clichés and emotions. Prove your point. You’re supposed to be a lawyer capable of building a logical, fact-based case. So far, you’ve proven you are nothing but an empty suit.

The real abuse of power is laid directly at the feet of Obama, Biden and their minions. Pure sedition, about which more is learned with each passing day.

Lastly, please explain EXACTLY what you mean by this phrase:  “the despicable behavior of these last four years.” You must mean the Russia hoax, the Ukraine charade, and other Democrat-media criminality. Or are you one of those who values form over substance and protocol over results?

I await your facts and logic that explain your emotional and nonsensical claims.

Naturally, I received no answer, explanations, facts, or logic supporting his diatribe. That’s because there are none! He is a poster-child for those brainwashed by decades of Democrat-media complex propaganda. The problem we have is that he is by no means alone; there are millions more Americans with similar cockamamie views. Perhaps you’ve had a debate or two with one of them in your own circle of family, friends, colleagues, neighbors, and/or acquaintances over the past couple of years.

It is true that “hindsight is 20/20.” And nothing provides clarity in contrasting Trump versus Biden more than examining the devastation wrought to the US since Biden was inaugurated in January. The disasters began the very first day and have continued unabated since then: open border fiasco and the flood of illegal immigrants, supply chain choke, Afghanistan disaster, energy policy/price spike/shortages, and inflation/food/commodities increases, kowtowing to China, unconstitutional vaccine mandates, critical race theory training throughout the federal government, political purging of the US military, socialist bills being pushed through Congress that will destroy America, taxes and regulations set to go through the roof, etc. The Biden regime is red-pilling Americans with each passing day. He has lost independents, and even Democrats are bailing on him because they are experiencing the deleterious economic impacts in their own daily lives. It is no longer an abstract problem happening to someone else! They are feeling the pain inflicted by Biden’s policies directly.

Makes me wonder whether the gent debated above has had a change of heart. Just think about the sheer lunacy of his comments made one short year ago! A personal epiphany would be required for such people with hardened views to change their worldviews. I am not holding my breath waiting for that to happen. Even more red-pilling is required, and I predict that Biden-Harris will oblige in the coming months.

The end.

  1. That exchange makes me wonder if that man(?) is who he says he is. After all, everything else on the internet is full of imposters, Stu.

Talk is very cheap for the left. They talk a lot.
