“History Smistory.”
The Far Side
I read an article just after January 6, 2020 (J6). I’m not a lawyer, not a politician. I’m just a guy who asks questions. I kept this commentary because I wanted to see how the questions weathered. And I wanted to see if those in the DC jail, without charge, had been released or given a trial date. I also wanted to do my small part to say they were not forgotten. I’ve updated the original here.
The article I read purported to be news but should have been more of an Op-Ed. I’ll leave the article anonymous because as an old expression goes, “If you can’t be a writer be a journalist.” So let’s blunder down the rabbit hole. I reference certain portions just to give it some context. At least that’s how my old college prof’s told me to make things more believable and “in situ.”
From the article: the “…attack…will go down as one of the darkest days in American history.” Biden and Harris certainly think so. In fact, Harris compared it to Pearl Harbor and 9/11. The same woman who on “Face the Nation” said our greatest national security challenge is….democracy. (NY Post, 12/26/21) Then Pelosi and Schumer one up her, having the cast of Hamilton sing a little ditty in remembrance of the “insurrection.” Really? Maybe we’ll start seeing minstrel shows on the Senate and House floors.
Everyone I know condemned the J6 riot, but an attack on democracy? What about the Antifa/BLM riots of 2020 which did billions in damage, took many innocent lives, and had fewer arrests? But few Democrats condemned those and our soon-to-be VP actually supported bail for rioters. (Washington Examiner, 9/3/2020)
The article quotes Juliette Kayyem (a former Ass’t Secretary for Homeland Security), “…(that J6 was) something we haven’t seen since the Civil War.” Juliette, Juliette. Really? The Civil War? You weren’t around in the 60s were you? Nor in 1954, when Puerto Rican terrorists actually shot up the House (history.house.gov). Nor of age to remember 1983, for the bombing of the Senate building. (Smithsonian, 1/6/20) And J6 deaths? The DC Medical examiner attributed one death directly to the riot (Ashli Babbit, an unarmed USAF veteran, murdered by an “experienced” Capitol Police Lieutenant), two of natural causes, and one of a drug overdose. No Capitol Police nor DC Police officers died. Neither DOJ nor the FBI found evidence of an insurrection. (msn.com/8-20-21)
The Shorenstein Center, a usually reliable media source, stated the Oath Keepers/Proud Boys activated a mob to “overthrow the government.” They don’t mention the Antifa activist who was later arrested and released. Nor the man suspected of leaving bombs at RNC and DNC headquarters the night prior. Two years later on January 5 of this year, the FBI announced a $500,000 reward for any information leading to his arrest.
There is film of other agitators (most notably J6 agitator Ray Epps who the entire crowd identified as a “Fed”) but these people weren’t arrested either, however, over 900 people from that day have been. One, a 69-year old grandmother with cancer, was “sentenced” to 2 months in a Federal prison for a misdemeanor. And those J6 “rioters” sitting in the DC gulag for 2 years without charge awaiting trial? Still there. Finally, if the Feds suspected danger, why was there no “threat report” from Homeland or the FBI? (NPR, 1/13/2021) Why didn’t the Senate/House Sgt-At-Arms, Pelosi, McConnell, and the DC mayor accept Trump’s offer of the National Guard? (americanmilitarynews, 8/5/22) All communications that might address this very question have been hidden.
And there’s more.

Logic and the evidence leads one to the conclusion that the riot and trespassing that did occur was likely the result of the federal government, specifically the FBI, planning and attempting to create an insurrection. The best way to take focus off of the various illegal voting schemes and likely fraud is to make the whole issue toxic. By stirring up an “insurrection”, which the media ran with even without an insurrection, they intended to make the issue toxic to most of society and prevent any further digging into the 2020 elections.
It is not like we do not have a lot of precedent for this type of activity. Just look at the Gretchen Whitmer kidnapping plot. The FBI took a handful of disgruntled losers who didn’t know one another, got them to together, stirred them up, then financed, planned and organized a kidnapping plot. This is not infiltration of a crime or criminal organization. This is creating the crime itself in order to then become the “hero” in exposing the plot, a plot that would not even exist without the FBI. This is setting a barn on fire and then declaring yourself a hero for putting it out before it burns down the house too.
Just as you stated…. Way too many questions and not enough answers. We can only hope that we can start to get some answers with a Republican congressional majority, now that we have some investigative power.
