A November 2015 email exchange between Hunter Biden and business partners Devon Archer and Eric Schwerin and Burisma executive Vadym Pozharskyi has suddenly taken on greater significance. The email chain, viewed in the context of recently discovered evidence in the House Oversight Committee’s exhaustive investigation into the Biden family’s overseas influence peddling business, fits into the GOP’s narrative like Cinderella’s foot into the glass slipper. The messages, first reported by the New York Post in October 2020, and verified by Fox News Digital this week, have set off alarm bells among Republican lawmakers.
The emails reveal the “ultimate purpose” of Burisma’s cushy job offer to Hunter Biden: to end “any cases/pursuits against Nikolay.” (Pozharskyi refers to Burisma’s founder and then-president, Mykola Zlochevsky, as “Nikolay.”)
More to the point, they explain why then-Vice President Joe Biden traveled to Ukraine the following month to deliver his despicable ultimatum to then-Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko: either fire the prosecutor who was investigating the company or forgo $1 billion in U.S. aid.
Hunter Biden had connected Burisma to Washington, D.C., lobbying firm Blue Star Strategies. Blue Star was tasked with heading off any federal probes into Zlochevsky, who was under investigation for corruption at the time.
On Nov. 2, 2015, Pozharskyi emailed Biden, Archer and Schwerin to express his concern about a “revised proposal, contract and initial invoice [from Blue Star]” he was looking over. He had noticed “that the suggested scope of work is largely lacking concrete tangible results that we set out to achieve in the first place. … Also, it doesn’t offer any names of top US officials here in Ukraine (for instance, US Ambassador) or Ukrainian officials (the President of Ukraine, chief of staff, Prosecutor General) as key targets for improving Nikolay’s case and his situation in Ukraine.”
He noted, “If, however, this is done deliberatly [sic] to be on the safe and cautious side, I can understand the rationale. And if all parties in fact understand the true purpose of the BS engagement and all our joint efforts, it’s ok and we should proceed immediately.”
Pozharskyi wanted to ensure they were all “on the same page re our final goals. With this in mind, I would like us to formulate a list of deliverables, including, but not limited to: a concrete course of actions, incl. meetings/communications resulting in high-ranking US officials in Ukraine (US Ambassador) and in US publicly or in private communication/comment expressing their ‘positive opinion’ and support of Nikolay/Burisma to the highest level of decision makers here in Ukraine :President of Ukraine, president Chief of staff, Prosecutor General, etc.”
“The scope of work should also include organization of a visit of a number of widely recognized and influential current and/or former US policy-makers to Ukraine in November aiming to conduct meetings with and bring positive signal/message and support on Nikolay’s issue to the Ukrainian top officials above with the ultimate purpose to close down for any cases/pursuits against Nikolay in Ukraine,” Pozharskyi concluded.
Schwerin emailed Biden and Archer with a draft of a response to Pozharskyi: “I would tell Vadym that this is definitely done deliberately to be on the safe and cautious side and that Sally [founder of Blue Star] and company understand the scope and deliverables. And that we will be having regular (daily, weekly, monthly) opportunities be in through conference calls or memos to be continually refining and updating the scope.”
On Nov. 5, Hunter emailed Pozharskyi to tell him to “go ahead and sign.”
Fox reported that prior to Biden’s infamous trip to Ukraine, “an associate at Blue Star Strategies emailed Blue Star executives, Hunter Biden, Archer and Pozharskyi about a White House conference call that ‘outlined the trip’s agenda and addressed several questions regarding U.S. policy toward Ukraine.’” They were all in on it.
This email chain is a smoking gun. It shows – once again – that President Biden was not only aware of his son’s foreign business adventures, but that he facilitated them. It supports the allegations made in a June 2020 FBI 1023 report from a highly credible confidential human source that Joe Biden and Hunter Biden were paid $5 million each by Zlochevsky to alter U.S. policy. And it provides a key piece to the nearly complete puzzle of the Biden family’s vast overseas influence peddling scheme.
HOC Chairman James Comer (R-KY) has been following the Biden family money trail. Last week, he told Fox News he would have additional information soon. “We’re up to six banks now, Jason, and we’re gonna have an announcement hopefully next week. More findings, more disturbing findings,” Comer said. “Bank records don’t lie. People make a big issue out of taxes but people cheat on their taxes all the time, but it’s hard to cheat on bank records.”
