People Who Bleed Blue

Another reason for cops to not engage. What’s the point!

Be careful what you ask for because once the people who bleed blue stop caring, the darkness of the world will have no keepers.

Last week on my blog A Cop’s Watch, I reviewed an incident outside of an illegal alien refugee center in New York City. I started with how a close friend, now a retired police officer, looked forward to his son following him into the police profession. And how, after the last few years, he told him join the fire department or something else. I’ve covered the reasons why cops are not engaging countless times on this site and others. Here is another great example of how cops, and the public, are being screwed over by judges, district attorneys and other politicians.

4 migrants accused of assaulting NYPD officers were arrested and released. Now, they’re California-bound, a source says

On January 27, 2024, officers of the New York Police Department attempted to handle illegal aliens outside of a homeless shelter. The young men were causing a disturbance and drinking in public. As the officers attempted to take one of the suspects into custody, a total of nine young men assaulted them. Four were taken into custody, five were still at large as of last week.

The four were charged with Assault in the Second Degree, punishable by 15 years in prison, with a minimum of 3 ½ years required. So, what does the judge do at arraignment? He releases all four of them! Then again, the DA’s office did not request bail on them!

Arrested on the 27th were Yorman Reveron, 24, Kelvin Servita Arocha, 19, Darwin Andres Gomez-Izquiel, 19, and Wilson Juarez, 21. Jhoan Boada, 22, was arrested and charged on 1/29/24. Yohenry Brito, 24, was arrested 1/31/24 and arraigned on two counts of second-degree assault and one count of second-degree obstructing governmental administration…

For those released without bail, the district attorney consented “to defendant release to allow us time to conduct a thorough analysis of the incident and defendant’s role in it,” according to a bail application for Boada that states the others were released without bail under similar requests.

A Manhattan Criminal Court judge ordered them to be “released on their own recognizance,” meaning they were released from custody without paying bail and told to return to court while the case is pending.

“Violence against police officers is never acceptable,” a spokesperson for Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg told CNN. “Every defendant charged so far is facing felony charges that carry a penalty of up to seven years.”

Forgive me Alvin if we don’t believe you.

Let’s look at why we have bail in the first place. From the American Bar Association, not a hard law and order organization:

Bail is the amount of money defendants must post to be released from custody until their trial. Bail is not a fine. It is not supposed to be used as punishment. The purpose of bail is simply to ensure that defendants will appear for trial and all pretrial hearings for which they must be present…

The judge or magistrate decides the amount of bail by weighing many factors:

the risk of the defendant fleeing,

the type of crime alleged,

the “dangerousness” of defendants, and

the safety of the community.

Multiple illegal aliens were released on their own recognizance, after lying about their identifications to the charities working the shelters. You will be shocked to hear they are reportedly headed to the PDRK (People’s Democratic Republic of Kalifornia) then back to Mexico. And we can’t stop them as the DA didn’t ask for bail, therefore they can’t issue warrants for jumping bail.

This is so absurd it wouldn’t make it as a Law and Order script.

I have to say to the people of New York, you voted for this. You elected that idiot Adams as mayor, that moron DA Bragg, and the leftist judges (granted with George Soros money helping them). What did you think they would do? Actually enforce the law?

If the cops see this again and again (and they are), they will simply say “Why bother? You got beat up (who cares), I’ll take a report and clear my call slip.” It took years of abuse and neglect before the people of New York said “ENOUGH!” and elected a tough on crime mayor named Giuliani. On his watch murders dropped from 2420 in 1994 to 909 in 2002. People of New York don’t wait to vote these morons out.
