Once upon a time, conservatives prided themselves on being the adults in the room. While the left drowned in a sea of feelings, pronouns, and ever-changing definitions of “truth,” the right stood firm, grounded in logic, facts, and common sense. But lately, something weird has happened. Some on the right—perhaps spending too much time on social media, or maybe inhaling too many gun-cleaning solvents—have decided that truth is optional. That’s right, folks, we’ve got conservatives out here fabricating nonsense with the same enthusiasm as a Berkeley gender studies professor rewriting biology.
Let’s be real: the left abandoned truth ages ago. They tell us men can get pregnant, inflation is good for us, and the “mostly peaceful” protests of 2020 were just community bonfires gone slightly awry. But instead of maintaining the moral high ground, some conservatives have decided that two can play this game. Suddenly, every blurry YouTube video proves an elaborate deep-state conspiracy, every meme is gospel, and every election loss is obviously rigged—no need for evidence, just vibes. We can’t be bothered with facts anymore; if it sounds good and dunks on the libs, then by golly, it must be true!
Here’s the problem: when we abandon truth, we become exactly like the left—just in different outfits. They have their delusions, we have ours, and the result is two teams of lunatics screaming at each other while normal people quietly slip away to go live in the woods. How do we expect to win anyone over when we’re spewing nonsense? You don’t fight lies with different lies; you fight them with the truth. That’s how we used to win. That’s how we should win.
Because here’s the deal: truth isn’t about what helps or hurts your side. It just is. If an election was fair, say it. If a political leader you like messed up, admit it. If a conspiracy theory turns out to be bogus, drop it. Pretending something is true just because it fits the narrative makes us look like hypocrites, and worse—like idiots. Once you start down that road, you’re just another group of weirdos pushing your own version of fake reality. Congratulations, you’ve joined the loony left in their alternate dimension. Enjoy your stay.
So let’s get a grip. The left is already knee-deep in crazy; we don’t need to wade in with them. If the right wants to remain the sane alternative, we have to be the sane alternative. That means sticking to the truth, no matter where it leads. Because at the end of the day, integrity matters. And if we abandon it just to “win,” we won’t actually be winning anything. We’ll just be losing—badly.
