The Pentagon would be proud of the tactics used in American elections.

Think about it. You are bombarded with messaging 24/7. The media plays along, crafting dramatic storylines like it’s the Super Bowl. “Can our hero overcome the EVIL forces of the opposition? Will democracy survive? Tune in tonight to find out!” They don’t just want your vote—they want your soul. They want you obsessed, enraged, and emotionally broken enough to fight family members at Thanksgiving.

Step one of the psychological warfare? Fear. “If the other side wins, you’ll lose everything! The economy will collapse! Freedom will be dead! Your children will be indoctrinated into a cult of drag queens and/or Christian nationalism!” The goal isn’t to inform you—it’s to terrorize you into submission.

Step two? Hero Worship. Every election, we are given one option—a savior and a devil. Your guy? A noble warrior of righteousness, standing up against PURE EVIL. The other guy? A maniacal dictator-in-waiting who will personally destroy America with his bare hands. At no point are you encouraged to look at their policies with a rational, measured approach. You are told to believe or perish.

Step three? Manufactured Tribalism. Political operatives know that people love being part of a tribe. It’s wired into our DNA. And what better way to activate that primitive instinct than turning politics into a holy war? Social media algorithms amplify the worst voices, the most extreme takes, and the most fear-inducing propaganda—because an angry, tribal voter is a loyal voter.

The end result? A nation where people genuinely believe their neighbors are their enemies and that political outcomes are a matter of life and death. Congratulations! You’ve just been successfully brainwashed by one of the most sophisticated propaganda machines in human history
