Post Gog and Magog, the whole world will know that Almighty God exists, that He is the God of the Bible. Jesus will be acknowledged as the Messiah. So, we may think that the great harvest we alluded to in the last installment The harvest of the Gentiles should proceed without any troubles or objections, right?
Actually, it will be the most intense spiritual battle of all times. It will be the process Jesus laid out for us in His parable of the wheat and the tares. The tares resemble wheat to a devilish degree, they look like wheat when they rise, they look like wheat when they put out a head of grains… except it isn’t wheat.
The enemy planted the tares.
When the true wheat is ready, the Master’s harvesters will take it in the Master’s barn. Then the tares are collected for burning.
Now that everyone has seen that Jesus is God—the only God—only Jesus will suffice for them. So how would Satan go about disrupting the harvest? Just like in the parable above, Satan planted and grew a false Messiah supported by a false good news. It looks like the real thing, it talks like the real thing, it claims to be the real thing—the only real thing. It is a false Christianity that Satan brought up, grew and tended for this specific moment in time.
From the fourth century forward, Satan slyly set it in motion: it is the Roman Catholic Church. It claims to be the only way to Jesus, the only gatekeeper of heaven and the only genuine faith. It has killed the true believers with consummate dedication all through the centuries. It leader’s title is Christ’s Vicar: Jesus’s stand-in.
We have seen how God’s true church is well prepared for its role in these years. We can also see that the Roman Catholic Church is well prepared for its nefarious role: it has been reaching overtly out to Muslims for decades. It has detoured influential Christian leaders in every land. It has implanted itself into every mission field and every center of power.
The spiritual battle will be intense, and sustained. Though, as was the case for centuries, many Catholics will escape to the true Good News. The battle for the souls will rage until the last person who voluntarily choose the true Jesus and His Good News will have done so. When this happens, the Master of the harvest will take home His good harvest and His harvesters. This action will leave behind, all those who, having had access to the truth, chose to pursue their own selfish agendas via the false gospel of the counterfeit “Christian” church.
God lifting His faithful followers will be a wonderful, joyful, peaceful and majestic event—just as was the ancient prototype: Jesus’ own ascension. It will be the fitting grand finale of this phase of God’s march of glory.
