It took only hours for liberals to blame a natural disaster on Donald Trump and Elon Musk. The fact they put out bold faced lies is not an issue to them.

Like millions I was celebrating Independence Day on Friday July 4. But as I enjoyed the holiday I received notices of a massive flash flood less than 200 miles away that swept dozens of children from a camp in the Texas Hill Country. The Guadalupe River rose 30 feet in less than an hour. As I write this, there are over 70 confirmed dead, dozens unaccounted for, and the area is devastated.
As many a loathsome liberal says, “Never let a good crisis go to waste,” and this was no exception. I was reading some posts from the usual suspects on X about how this was caused to by Trump and Musk, as they had “gutted” the National Weather Service (NWS). One actually posted that Brazoria County deserved this because they voted for Trump, denied climate change and destroyed the NWS.
From X:
“Ruh-roh Texas. Whatcha gonna do?
There’s no FEMA to pick you up by your bootstrap. They gave it all to ICE.”
This “author” was not finished:
“For those of you calling me sick and telling me I have no empathy (please Google ‘irony’), you can eat a bag of d*&^ks. We f#$%ing told you this was going to happen. And it will continue to happen. This is Trump’s f#$%ing fault.”
Some other comments from the not do best and brightest from X:
“It’s not awful, it’s what Texas deserves.”
“Texas deserves every flood. God has spoken and God hates Texas.”
“I’m kinda happy that the National Weather Service gave incorrect predictions when it came to how much rain would fall – especially since the best and brightest for that org were let go by DOGE, Elon and Trump. Texas deserves the flooding.”
“The people in Texas voted for government services controlled by Donald Trump and Greg Abbott. That is exactly what they are getting.”
The party of compassion and empathy. There are at least a dozen children less than ten who will be buried in the near future. Not that it matters. From a Houston area pediatrician:
“May all visitors, children, non-MAGA voters and pets stay safe and dry.
Kerr County MAGA voted to gut FEMA. They deny climate change. May they get what they voted for.
Bless their hearts.”
Now some liberals say the NWS is unable to perform its duties because of Trump and DOGE. An absolute lie. The usual staffing of the NWS in New Braunfels is two foresters. For this event there were five. From the NWS website, a Flood Watch Warning was issued at 113pm on 7/3/25. Specifically is warned of possible flash floods across multiple cities in the South Central Texas, specifically Kerrville.
There is a legitimate question of what the local authorities did with this warning. Initial reports are Kerr County does not have a flash flood warning system. Whatever the issues are, they are for a future inquiry. Now our efforts should be on rescuing the people we can and helping the others devastated by this event.
The flood occurred on July 4th, and the local authorities, with assistance of federal assets (such as a portable bridge from Fort Hood TX) are assisting in the relief efforts. President Trump signed a disaster declaration on 7/6/25. The process of rescue and recovery is working.
The fact is wherever you live, a natural disaster will occur. I’ve lived on the Gulf Coast most of my life and hurricanes are part of living here. The West Coast has active fault lines and earthquakes happen. The Mid-West has tornadoes and anywhere north of the Mason-Dixon Line will have freezing weather that paralyzes a region. These facts have nothing to do with “climate change,” or the fact we drive gas powered vehicles. They have been this way since the beginning of time. They will continue long after man is gone.
Don’t tell liberals that. Rep. Joaquin Castro (D-TX), of nearby San Antonio, “said that after the deadly flood of the Guadalupe River in central Texas, the Trump administration’s cuts to the National Weather Service should be investigated.” Mr. Castro, last time I checked, the NWS did its job. They issued a very accurate weather forecast and issued a warning in time to react. If anything needs to be investigated it’s how local authorities acted. I would call you beneath contempt sir, but that gives you too much credit.
To our liberal countrymen out there, is it too much to ask to let people bury their dead? Doesn’t look like it. Disgusting to say the least. Then again, never let a crisis go to waste.

The liberals who are blaming this on President Trump are the same ones who said nothing when Joe Biden’s FEMA did virtually nothing for the people in western Carolina after the devastating floods following Hurricane Helene.
I remember that. They were housing illegal aliens in four or five star hotels, but Americans who lost everything got a check for $750 from Kamala Harris.
In time to react, but let’s face it: vacationers camping in an established campground aren’t bothering with NWS warnings. The floods came at night, when people were sleeping.
Apparently, the county has been trying to get funding for an improved early warning system for the last 10 years. Something akin to the Amber Alerts, where they send messages on cell phones. That’s for long-term recovery, right now we just need to worry about rescue and Dealing with the immediate aftermath.
