Everyone associated with the failed Biden administration is trying to cling to his or her last 15 minutes of fame with a tell-all book. They knew old Joe was senile, but it was someone else’s fault for not telling us. The knew that Kamala should distance herself from Joe’s policies, but that would have cost her Joe’s endorsement. They knew that Governor Shapiro would have been a superior running mate to Tim Walz, but candidate “Cackles” went with her gut.
Of course she did. By what other mean did people think Kamala Harris would make any decision? Objective analysis of reality? She’s a socialist with communist aspirations, who sells herself as a Democrat – a quintessential “feelings” decider. Democrats never solve problems; they merely take positions that feel good. It was completely predictable that she’d pick a poser rather than a doer for her running mate.
In Ayn Rand’s Atlas Shrugged, John Galt advises Dagney Taggert that when faced with a conflict between her heart and her mind, follow her mind. He repeatedly says “A” is “A.” The implication being that reality is what it is, not what we wish it to be. “A” does not become “B” simply because our heart or our gut says it should be. Wishful thinking loses to reality every time. Giving fantasy supremacy over reality, as one’s gut often demands, is an invitation for calamity.
But the ascending leadership of the Democrat party is a rogue’s gallery of collectivist wishful thinkers:
- Bernie Sanders spent his honeymoon in the Soviet Union; the place his gut assured him was destined to become a man-made utopia.
- Tim Walz admires the efficiency of the Chinese economy, because slavery and government subsidy is the key to economic success.
- The Democratic Socialists endorse Jamaal Bowman, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and Cori Bush because they place sloganeering above leadership.
- Zohran Mamdani, who claims to be a socialist, fantasizes that seizing the means of production can make life in New York affordable to the masses.
They all promise that they can deliver utopia if we simply grant them enough power to overrule the laws of economics – to make “A” become “B.” The reward we’re offered in exchange for giving them that power, is that we can “feel good” that we voted for utopia. We should follow our heart and trust our gut that their application of socialism/communism will deliver universal prosperity – this time. Pay no attention to the fact that “A” is still “A” and socialism invariably delivers universal destitution as it eventually runs out of resources to redistribute.
But Tim Walz said that “one person’s socialism is another person’s neighborliness.” What heartless person wouldn’t want “neighborliness” in a chief executive and her possible successor? Naturally Kamala went with her gut and selected the nice communist from Minnesota as her running mate.
Thank God the voting public saw Kamala Harris for what she was – a shallow thinker who would have deferred to her emotions in time of crisis. Is that the type of leader who would have checked Putin’s expansionist tendencies, discouraged China from attacking Taiwan, or prevented Iran from becoming a nuclear power?
