President Trump has taken over law enforcement in Washington DC, the most crime ridden example of Democrat party governance in America. He has sent in multiple agencies, and even the National Guard, to establish order. Then he set a trap for the Dems by saying he could do the same for their third-world wannabe cities. Just as predictably as Adam Schiff telling a fib, the Dems howled in outrage, pledging to fight by every means legal and otherwise, to keep federal forces out of their cities. They didn’t see that their screaming, was the sound of the cage door slamming shut behind them.
Washington DC isn’t merely a city in which those pledged to serve us, instead look for creative ways to enslave us. It is a stage on which President Trump – the most successful reality TV star of all time – is performing. Like our southern border, Washington is his showcase of the possible, if our elected leaders merely enforce the laws as written.
Our borders are now effectively closed, and all President Trump had to do was implement a few common-sense policies and then let law enforcement do its job. He has shown that illegal immigration is not an intractable problem – it is a choice.
Now Washington is becoming a safe city, and all President Trump had to do was let law enforcement do its job and promise his support. In under a month
- Over 700 arrests have been made,
- 91 illegal firearms have been seized,
- The homeless are being cleared,
- Crime of all types is falling, and
- Homicides are no longer a nightly news item.
President Trump has shown that lawlessness in our cities is not an intractable problem – it is a choice.
But alas, Washington DC is not like other cities, because it is not part of a sovereign state. It is the one city, surrounded by states, that is federal property, and section 740 of the Home Rule Act gives the President the legal authority to impose federal law enforcement. He has no such authority over other cities. For President Trump to assist those cities, requires an invitation. Therefore, the howling of the blue city mayors is merely performative art. They know the President can’t police their streets, without a request from them, which they are loudly pledging they will not provide. But here’s the stupid part: The mayors of our most crime ridden cities made that pledge before they saw how Trump’s production of “Law and Order – Nation’s Capital” ended.
A few months from now when Washington has become a clean, safe, and orderly place to live and visit; the people of New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Baltimore, Minneapolis, etc. may have a few questions:
- Why are our streets still filthy?
- Why are our businesses leaving?
- Why isn’t it safe to go out at night in our city?
- Why are our children still collateral casualties of gang warfare?
And the queen mother of all questions: If law and order is a simple matter of choice, why can’t we choose to be like Washington? Will the mayors and governors trapped by their own words admit they were wrong, or will their voters need to start thinking about some different choices themselves? See the trap now?
