A rash of drone sightings and airspace violations by Russia in recent weeks have raised new security fears in Europe. EU leaders have already agreed to significantly increase defense spending and are drafting plans to better protect the bloc against threats from Russia. Many see NATO member Turkey as well-placed to help meet the European defense goals – but President Erdogan is a difficult partner.
