The Mitch McConnell and Scott Jennings Conversation: This stinks to high heaven

Mitch McConnell is AWOL, and his handlers haven’t even provided proof of life (or mental acuity). The rally around “20-minute phone calls” and “cogent conversations on important issues” crap reminds me of the Democrats’ “gravitas maneuver” during the 2000 presidential campaign.

Remember when they and their lickspittle media endlessly repeated that W lacked “gravitas” with respect to foreign policy experience as they ran their psyop to try to convince people to vote for the execrable and boring Algore? When disparate and otherwise random-seeming people sing from the same script in a “spontaneous” chorus, there is something fishy going on. [Note: how does Algore look in retrospect after grifting a few hundred million off gullible people with his climate scare baloney that has been exposed as a complete hoax? Talk about dodging a bullet in the 2020 presidential election!]

Riiiiiiight. Never mind the medical malpractice involved in letting someone ostensibly recovering from cardiac arrest days earlier speak at length to ANYONE! There is a much deeper connection here that requires informed speculation.

Jennings has a long-standing relationship with McConnell. One might even consider him a McConnell protégé at this point (how scary is that?)!

Jennings has known McConnell since he was a teenager and has publicly called him a mentor who “changed the trajectory of his life.” He credits McConnell and the McConnell Center at the University of Louisville with helping enable his college education.

Jennings managed or served as a senior advisor on McConnell’s U.S. Senate re-election campaigns in 2002 (as political and communications director), 2008 (senior communications advisor), and 2014 (advisor to pro-McConnell groups like the Kentuckians for Strong Leadership Super PAC).

Jennings is routinely described as a former senior adviser to McConnell and one of his closest outside political confidants. This includes work on Kentucky political operations and supporting McConnell-aligned candidates and causes over 20+ years.

He’s even being talked up as McConnell’s replacement (and mentioned that in passing himself) and would get a lot of MAGA votes simply based on his CNN performance (and performance art is what it is).

Now, why do you think CNN hired him in the first place? Because he’s a known GOPe staffer and connected LONG-TIME to McConnell and the Kentucky GOPe power structure. Anyone who sampled CNN for a New York minute over the past decade knows that CNN is virulently anti-Trump. Why would they hire a guy who has made a career since then of skewering the CNN lefties on-air by pointing out their obvious hypocrisies, lies, and (on occasion) downright stupidity?

Because they (GOPe, CNN, many other entities/people) are all playing the long game TOGETHER. The GOPe (and their donors who call the shots) have infinite resources to place, use, and reward people like Jennings. He is a political version of a terrorist sleeper cell who can be activated when the urgent need arises. And that need is NOW as they seek to rally around McConnell (or more accurately, his donors/$$).

Jennings was activated and is playing his role. This is his payback for his being placed prominently at CNN and his subsequent “rise to fame” (including a lucrative book deal). The GOPe et al are calling in their chips, and he is one of them.

Note that none of his commentary on CNN has had real consequences in terms of public policy. He can say anything he likes – and effectuate MAGA reactions to the kabuki there – and not have any accountability for anything. He has yet to say anything where some of his own skin is actually in the game. He never talks about election fraud or anything that would be supportive of the SAVE Act – or anything else that the GOPe wants to deep-six. Why is that, one wonders?

He is playing his role as planned, and this “McConnell is fine” psyop is the reddest of red flags. The GOPe/Senate Leadership (sic) gameplan is to defeat President Trump’s agenda, especially the SAVE Act which would ultimately expose all of the illegitimate elections held over the last 20+ years (as well as the illegitimately elected members of Congress). Jennings is part of their psyop/gameplan.

Does anyone really believe that he spoke to McConnell for “just shy of 20 minutes” this past week? Absurd. Or, rather, a bald-faced lie. And he showed us where his true allegiance lies. Given enough time, EVERYONE discloses their true selves through their own remarks and actions.

Jennings will be paid off if the GOPe succeed in outlasting Trump and burying MAGA like they did the Tea Party regardless of whether he is caught out in a lie. He has built up a lot of false capital with MAGA from his CNN performances (all talk; no real actions; no real moving the needle on MAGA-related public policy), and now he is using it on behalf of his real masters.

And the political kabuki in the US continues unabated…

The end.
