When I was a lad, all we had were ice cream trucks.
Don Surber escorts us through another week of the media’s treatment what it considers news. We need this reporting on the media or we’d never know what was actually going on.
ITEM 1: The New York Times reported, “Harry and Meghan Will Move Back to Britain After 6 Years in U.S.”
Two more self-deportations for Trump (4 counting the kids).
ITEM 2: The New York Post reported, “America’s favorite vegetable under major threat of looming California droughts.”
Poor Joe Biden.
ITEM 3: MS NOW (MSNBC) reported, “The Navy’s ships risk wearing out in the Iran war.”
The New York Times quoted the mother of a sailor who said, “They Didn’t Sign Up to Be on a Ship in the Middle of the Ocean.”
Hegseth should add a question to the application to join the Navy, “Is your mother an idiot?”
Iran might have lost its air force, its navy and its nuclear program but its propaganda machine continues to work just fine.
ITEM 4: The Washington Post reported, “Ties to data centers could cost Ohio Sen. Jon Husted his seat, memo warns.”
Red China’s propaganda machine continues its win streak.
ITEM 5: The New York Post reported, “Harvard University will pay $53 million to settle a ghoulish class-action suit brought by families claiming an imprisoned former morgue manager at the Ivy League institution mishandled the bodies of their loved ones donated to its medical school and even sold their body parts on the black market.”
Viktor Frankenstein, MD, hardest hit.
ITEM 6: The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reported, “What we know about a fake poll conducted in Wisconsin governor race.”
The story said, “But unlike in the Los Angeles mayoral race, the poll does not appear to have been reported widely—if at all—in Wisconsin, or cited by any campaigns here.”
It ran a companion piece, “How the Marquette poll really works, and why it’s so well-regarded.”
The fake poll said Francesca Hong would beat David Crowley by 23 points. The final well-regarded Marquette Poll had Hong 31 points ahead of him.
Because, in their heart of hearts, Democrats agree with Piker that America deserved 9/11. Why do you think Ma Clinton showed up drunk for the 2016 commemoration?
ITEM 8: Faytuks Network tweeted, “France has recorded over 7,300 excess deaths during heatwaves this year, with a record 52 days of hot spells since mid-June, according to AFP.
“Separately, nearly 10,000 people across Germany have died so far this year due to heat-related causes, according to a German institute.”
Meanwhile, the CDC expects 1,800 to 2,400 heat-related deaths in the USA, which has more than 3 times as many people as France and Germany combined. The vaccine for heat-related deaths is spelled AC.
ITEM 9: A jury ordered the New York Times to pay a walk-on player for Alabama’s men’s basketball team $9.25 million for defaming him.
Now if he were on Auburn’s team, he’d be lucky to get $9.25.
NYT Inc. made $344 million last year (12% of revenues.) It can afford this award amounting to 10 days of profit.
ITEM 11: CNN reported, “A player development staff member for the San Diego Padres was detained in Texas last week while traveling and is being held in Immigration and Customs Enforcement custody.”
After saying he’s a nice guy with a wife and kids, CNN finally admitted in Paragraph 7 that he’s here illegally.
ITEM 12: Axios reported, “2025 had biggest violent-crime drop in 90 years.”
I like how Axios told readers, “Why it matters.” Its target audience are the idiots, which explains why its readership is so large.
Then again, I read it.
ITEM 13: The Liberation Caucus of the DSA condemned AOC:
Liberation condemns Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s continued retreat from socialist politics and rejects any effort to present her as the future presidential standard-bearer for DSA, or for the broader socialist movement. AOC’s record demonstrates a consistent pattern of opportunism. In 2024, DSA’s National Political Committee withdrew its conditional endorsement, after NYC-DSA’s steering committee sent a request to that body requesting such. The NPC also determined that AOC erred in sponsoring/hosting a public panel with leaders from the Jewish Council for Public Affairs, a Zionist organization which conflates anti-Zionism with anti-Semitism. She also voted in favor of H.Res 888 (defending Israel’s right to exist) and co-signed a statement supporting strengthening the Iron Dome. In short, it was determined that she had failed to meet conditions concerning Palestine solidarity.
Denouncing AOC is part of a plan to make her appear to be normal.
ITEM 14: Jim Hoft reported, “Miami-Dade voters delivered a stunning rebuke Tuesday night, unseating Circuit Judge Mavel Ruiz after she temporarily blocked the transfer of prime downtown Miami property designated for President Donald Trump’s future presidential library. Conservative attorney Destiny Alvarez, just 30 years old, defeated the longtime incumbent in the nonpartisan race for the 11th Judicial Circuit’s Group 67 seat.”
Trump around, find out.
ITEM 15: So, how was your Monday?

Trump around, tariff out.
ITEM 16: National Review reported, “Minnesota Man Arrested for Medicaid Fraud Scheme Previously Won State’s ‘Outstanding Refugee’ Award.”
No one bothered to ask why he was on the lam. Now we know.
ITEM 17: CNN reported, “Navy weighs renaming carrier slated to honor black war hero, potentially switching it to Trump.”
Or potentially switching it to Barack Hussein Obama. Aircraft carriers are named for presidents.
ITEM 18: 1819 News reported, “City of Montgomery-funded anti-violence program takes down website, removes Facebook photos after workers arrested for drug-related crimes.”
It was part of the city’s Just Say Yo drug campaign.
ITEM 19: NBC reported, “A woman has been charged with providing support to a terrorist group after she was accused of plotting an ISIS-inspired attack on the New York Capitol in Albany, federal officials said Thursday.”
The suspect converted to Islam five years ago, but NBC didn’t use her new name, Aisha Saif. I wonder why that is.
ITEM 20: Thousands of women are rallying to defend Lindsay Clancy who murdered her 3 kids, all under 5.
ITEM 21: Chief Justice John Roberts deigned to allow President Trump to complete the White House ballroom. Roberts lifted the imaginary presidential veto of a lifetime political hack in a black robe.
It is time for Donald Trump went Buford Pusser on the judiciary and moved all federal courts to the basements of federal buildings.
ITEM 22: AP reported, “The Pentagon on Friday fired the editor-in-chief of Stars and Stripes and a top reporter for insubordination after they spoke publicly against any interference by the Defense Department in the military news outlet that has a long history of editorial independence.”
When I was a soldier 50 years ago, I worked on the paper in Darmstadt. The highlights were attending concerts by the Rolling Stones and Linda Ronstadt, and driving Ford Mavericks at 105 MPH down the autobahn. I also went to Monte Carlo on one assignment and rode in the Goodyear blimp Europa on another.
ITEM 23: Lara Korte, the fired reporter, tweeted, “Today, I was informed that the Department of Defense is firing me for insubordination after I told a CBS reporter that I work for Stars and Stripes—not the Pentagon, not any administration, and not any policy maker.”
She wanted to be independent. Now she is. What’s her complaint?
ITEM 24: Offered without comment.

Great article! From the MILF truck to the shopping cart.
As a kid I remember the MILF truck would deliver right to the door…
