There are no winners in a nuclear war
I would hope that Vladimir Putin’s top Generals would not follow an order to fire a nuclear missile. The more I read about what is going on in Ukraine and the threats put is making to the west, I really believe he would be stupid enough to try and use nuclear warfare.
I don’t see any life in his eyes, only the hatred for Ukraine for not bowing to him and of course, his hatred for us, the United States. I went and revisited the history of atom bomb usage in Japan. It was heartbreaking to see the horrors that an atom bomb can do.
The United States detonated nuclear bombs over the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki on the 6th and 9th of August 1945. The nuclear bombs laid to waste these two cities. The after-mass was devastating.
An estimated death toll of these two nuclear bombs was between 129,000 and 226,000 thousand people killed, most of them were civilians. That was the last time anything like it has ever been used again. Now the threat of nuclear war is upon us.
Then the new and improved atom bomb was given a facelift. It makes the nuclear bombs used against Japan look like a firecracker. It doesn’t stop there. The fallout from the bomb is also devastating. It has many health problems to go with it.
On August 6, 1945, the United States dropped an atomic bomb on the city of Hiroshima. The bomb was known as “Little Boy”, a uranium gun-type bomb that exploded with about thirteen kilotons of force. At the time of the bombing, Hiroshima was home to 280,000-290,000 civilians as well as 43,000 soldiers. Between 90,000 and 166,000 people are believed to have died from the bomb in the four-month period following the explosion. The U.S. Department of Energy has estimated that after five years there were perhaps 200,000 or more fatalities as a result of the bombing, while the city of Hiroshima has estimated that 237,000 people were killed directly or indirectly by the bomb’s effects, including burns, radiation sickness, and cancer. ‘atomicheritage.org’
We only have these two bombings Hiroshima and Nagasaki to go off of for the devastation a nuclear war would be. I don’t believe Putin will give up his quest to have Ukraine under his power. The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy made it clear he wants to join the EU as soon as possible.
UKRAINE MAY NOT BE ABLE TO JOIN EU IMMEDIATELY, SAYS TAOISEACH
The Taoiseach has cast doubt on the idea that Ukraine may be able to join the EU with immediate effect.
The Ukrainian president has indicated that he would like his country to join the European Union as soon as possible.
But, speaking in Dublin, Micheál Martin said: “I don’t know whether it can be done immediately.
“But I certainly would be a proponent and supporter of accelerating it and making it very clear that they can become members of the European Union.
The world waits to see what Putin will have to say to this. Will he answer it with the launch of a nuclear missile? I think this is more than worthy to keep an eye on. My oldest son is terrified of a nuclear war, he has two babies to worry about. As I said, let’s hope his top Generals are not stupid enough to launch a nuclear missile. There are no winners in a nuclear war.
