The World Is on Fire, Yet a New DNI, DOJ Threat Assessment Prompts DHS to Target ‘Domestic Violent Extremists’

The world is most definitely in crisis.

At pivotal moments in the past, nations would look to the U.S. to show the path forward. This time, however, the rudderless U.S. government is failing to provide the leadership the world needs so desperately and has come to expect.

Ukrainians are being slaughtered indiscriminately by the Russian military, but President Joe Biden refuses to “escalate” because Russia is a nuclear power. He forgets that we are too. Rather than setting terms and drawing our own lines in the sand, the Biden Administration reacts to Russian President Vladimir Putin’s provocations. Instead of private discussions among NATO leaders, debate over key decisions and western strategy has been carried out on cable television and then announced publicly.

Preposterously, even after Iran claimed responsibility for Sunday’s missile strike near the U.S. consulate in Irbil, Iraq, the Biden Administration still hopes to revive the foolish Iran nuclear deal and unbelievably, Russia is the chief negotiator.

Although U.S. officials condemned the strike, State Department spokesman Ned Price told reporters, “We have no indications the attack was directed at the United States.”

(The missteps of this administration are too numerous to list and are beyond the scope of this post.)

Despite the many crises we currently face, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, the Merrick Garland-led DOJ and the Department of Homeland Security found the time to prepare a threat assessment (provided below) for DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.

The report, issued on Friday, concluded with a list of recommendations the DHS might take to root out the “domestic violent extremists” among us. Mayorkas responded by adopting a set of “rules” based on these recommendations.

The most notable of these guidelines will identify those who question the results of the November 2020 election, the government’s (the CDC and Dr. Fauci) narrative on COVID-19 or the Biden Administration’s version of the events of Jan. 6, 2021, as domestic violent extremists.

Current Domestic Violent Extremism Threat Landscape (emphasis mine):

A March 2021 unclassified threat assessment prepared by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI), Department of Justice, and DHS, noted that domestic violent extremists “who are motivated by a range of ideologies and galvanized by recent political and societal events in the United States pose an elevated threat to the Homeland in 2021.”  The assessment pointed to newer “sociopolitical developments such as narratives of fraud in the recent general election, the emboldening impact of the violent breach of the U.S. Capitol, conditions related to the COVID-19 pandemic, and conspiracy theories promoting violence” that “will almost certainly spur some [domestic violent extremists] [sic] to try to engage in violence this year.”

The majority of Americans fall into at least one of the categories specified in the assessment.

This is a travesty. During one of the most dangerous periods in world history, the Biden Administration sees fit to spend its time and U.S. taxpayer dollars on a highly partisan witch-hunt for a bogus boogeyman.

One might think officials would put aside this manufactured BS at a time like this and put country above party because the current situation demands it.

Nope.

None of this is lost on Putin, Chinese President Xi Jinping or the mullahs in Iran who can’t believe their lucky stars. Without having to fire a shot, the U.S. government is voluntarily surrendering its power. These authoritarian leaders knew that relations with Biden would be a lot easier than dealing with former President Donald Trump, whose boldness and unpredictability kept them at bay, but they couldn’t possibly have imagined they’d be watching the greatest superpower on the planet slowly self-destruct before their very eyes.

The Democrats are more interested in power over Republicans than they are in power over our foreign enemies. And they don’t want to squander the progress they’ve made over the past fourteen months.

Democrats are looking at a wipeout in November, which will stop passage of the most radical parts of their agenda. But Republican control of the White House is still at least two years and ten months away.

I hope it will not be too late.

  1. I have to wonder whether anybody in this country has ‘standing’ to sue in the courts over this issue.

If I had to guess, somebody would have to have been caught up in this new tyranny before they could sue to stop the feds from going one inch further down this road.

The courts have painted the citizens of this country into a neat little corner with the ‘standing’ issue.
