In Parts 1-3 I walked through what a great job Dan Bongino has done over the years as a leading conservative voice of sanity and bringing the fight to the looney left, while introducing my hypothesis that I believe Dan is wrong that there was no central coordinator or choreographer of the Russia Collusion Hoax against Trump-as I believe it was Obama. He was the one man who could have stopped it: but didn’t. Each time Obama had a chance to do the right thing, he repeatedly failed in that regard. Far worse is in many instances he did the “wrong thing,” lied about it and deployed his administration to support it using any means necessary-to undertake actions they knew the American people and their representatives would not-under any circumstances-support.
Even worse (worser?) is he used the power of management of the government we the people delegate to the president against his real or perceived enemies-and there were a lot of them-to target businesses and people, distort the facts, hide the truth, and use the LSMBTG* like a rented mule to delude and mask the truth from the public.
I detailed Fast and Furious-a bad start for Obama with a lot of disingenuous communications from the administration that culminated in AG Holder becoming the first member of a president’s cabinet to be held in contempt of congress.
I briefly touched on the Affordable Care Act (ACA) lies that were just about all Obama’s, where he strung together over a five-seven year or more period some of the biggest, furriest Pinocchio warranting lies in the history of the presidency. However, despite the widespread ramifications of ACA on families across this land, in my judgment it doesn’t make the top ten or fifteen scandals or constitute illegal malfeasance by Obama: but it does reflect that he has no qualms about loudly-and proudly lying to the American people.
I was personally bemused from the start, but increasingly puzzled-surprised-borderline shocked-at how naïve many Americans were who still harbored delusions about Obama being some kind of wunderkind while he continuously lied about the ACA details in the face of withering criticism from the professional insurance community who debunked nearly every point with facts, data and historical statistics: for anybody willing to listen. Of course, you had elements like AARP, USAA and others so in the tank at this point singing the doowaps in support of the nonsense that you didn’t even need to critically think about the messaging-it was like an open the box, ice cream cone that came with its own tongue!
The entire ACA debacle verified to me and proved to many others-that rather than a wunderkind, Obama was just another run of the mill, nickel and dime politician-but with less experience than most others-who was willing to do and say anything necessary to maintain power and get his way. How many times do we have to hear-or say-that you should believe someone when they tell you who they are?
Now that opinion would likely change (ACA moving within the top ten) with all manner of data coming in on the ramifications of the ACA on things like cost, elective surgery, abortions, gender related dysphoria policy and treatment, adverse impacts on kids, etc. (but that is not this story.)
Benghazi was next-I jumped past the whole disgrace of the US going after Muammar Qaddafi after all these years with no plan whatsoever for the aftermath, should he be deposed: but it was kind of an ode to Bush that he was not the only one who could do that sort of thing-as the administration did a 180 on their view of Libya in short order and viola, it began.
But having survived Eldorado Canyon in 1986 (this is a decent account of the back story on the raid and the messaging to the Soviets, the French-who wouldn’t grant the US flyover rights unless we briefed them on the mission (and oopsie, we hit their embassy-tennis apology for that one (ya filthy animals) and Libya. I am always adding that the US losses included two aircraft-not just the official version of one-the F-111 that was shot down off the coast-but also an RF-4C from the 38th Tactical Reconnaissance Squadron, 26th Tactical Reconnaissance Wing, Zweibruecken AFB shot down by the US Navy-who-despite using it for simulated carrier run attacks in between reconnaissance missions, somehow forgot to advise all the Tomcat pilots that Iran wasn’t the only entity with US camouflage painted RF-4s in the gulf-there is always one who doesn’t get the word-oh, and when a pilot contacts the bridge talking through an engagement sequence pursuant to an air-to-air terminal weapons release, it is always a best practice-if you believe it to be so-to hear or confirm the phrase “exercise, exercise, exercise” as part of the exchange-cause by the time you hear “missile away, bogey splashed,” it’s just too late.))
Qaddafi would later give up his nuclear capability/WMD voluntarily-as we had asked-but the Obama administration actions left a vast ungoverned wasteland in his wake in a dangerous part of the world that is hard to believe was not later responsible for the attack on the Diplomatic Compound. The lies-distortions-dissembling-and failure to be honest with the American people on all things Benghazi was shocking-astounding-but apparently not disqualifying a mere 51 days from a reelection effort. Obama let others take the brunt of the heat generated from Benghazi, mainly HRC and Susan Rice.
It bears mention-while somewhat of a blinding flash of the obvious-that the political landscape had radically changed over time during the Bush years to the point where he left office with unprecedented, historic low favorability ratings from the public. The drumbeat and widespread near universal “plethora” of bad press spewed forth hate and discontent news 24×7 across the nation to keep what became an “evil empire” to the LSMBTG in the public frontal lobe. This effort culminated in Bush nearing the end of his term amidst unanimous calls for change to swap out republican leadership leading to the coming election. That same hate and discontent against Bush was leveraged to great effect to heap praise, sparkles, rainbows and unicorns on the democrat candidate that would emerge to “right the world” in January 2009.
Much like former President Jimmy Carter hearting the Biden administration today, President Bush greatly enjoyed the effect Obama had on his ratings, as he emerged from underwater in late 2009 with the highest favorability ratings he had seen since 2005.
The point of the above is that Obama took office riding a wave of unprecedented and largely unrealistic-and undeserved momentum and popularity-hysteria-with impossibly high expectations-resulting from near child-like relief that the evil empire was done-ding dong, the witch is dead: release the balloons! Of course, a person as smart as Obama would not accept such high expectations and unwarranted optimism, enthusiasm and praise without adding just a modicum of perspective, right? Cause any politician knew from experience that these trends are fickle-event based-reality eventually wins out, right?
Hahahahahahaha-he lapped it up with a big old spoon-preened like the wunderkind he had been anointed to be-made a statement upon winning the democrat primary that showed how “grounded” and unaffected he was by all the hype: “this was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal …”~~Barack Obama upon winning the Democratic nomination for presidency conveys his thinking of what that means ….for the world, Tuesday, JUNE 03, 2008”
He would later celebrate his election with a backdrop of the coliseum with a Roman conqueror theme. Did it go to his head much?
I left off in Part 3 with what in ordinary times would be the most disturbing and disqualifying political scandal of this or any century, where Obama undertook a surreptitious initiative to engage in dialogue and negotiations with Iran-at the time a bitter enemy actively engaged in killing and maiming American military on the battlefield, a destabilizing element in the Middle East-with a stated policy based upon a platform of Death to America and a one state solution for the resolution of the Palestinian problem-whose central tenet was the obliteration of our only true friend in that part of the world-Israel-as well as a leading source of worldwide terror and a menace to shipping in the Persian Gulf.
The secret Iran discussions began at a time when the American public had an overwhelmingly-~88%-negative view of Iran: but Obama apparently either knew better or frankly (Martha) didn’t give a damn what the American people thought. Taking this action unilaterally-secretly-spiked the hubris meter as high as anything has ever registered-just off the chart chutzpah! Much like his later apparent hell-bent desire to dialogue with another bastion of hope and light-this time in our own Hemisphere-Cuba.
Obama seemed to enjoy the idea of going against the grain-and going it somewhat alone, as neither one of these “plays” had much support from anybody to speak off: and it’s not like these were boring times where he was getting deep into the punch list looking for things to do.
What made the Iran dialogue so outstandingly bad among stiff competition in an administration that had way, way, way more than its share of stinkers, worse than anything comparable-on steroids to infinity and beyond, squared-plus 1-was the duplicitous propaganda campaign Obama authorized to be launched in conjunction with the Iran dialogue.
The strategy was hatched in the WH between Obama and the imaginative Ben Rhodes, with a plan to engage the LSMBTG in an information operation to flood the zone by spreading fiction that would frame the Iran dialogue in a way that took off all the sharp edges-while introducing true lies-to keep critics at bay. All lies, all the time, courtesy of Obama, Ben Rhodes and his energetic team.
Obama and Ben Rhoades were often described as kindred souls-peas in a pod-like the doowop twins where they would get on a roll with a narrative and there would be just a symbiotic connection that brought out the best in both men: they could finish each other’s sentences. Had they focused on issues and problems that benefitted Americans and America this might have been a totally different story. Both men seemed to derive some perverse pleasure from hoodwinking, lying about and just propagating big old furry lies that were so audacious and bodacious that those who knew-or thought they did-the truth, were at somewhat of a disadvantage because of the audacity of the tales.
Unadulterated lies delivered with confidence-cockiness-at their most basic level are unsettling-off putting-keep honest people off balance. While those who propagate them with utter ballsy, chutzpah-laden cheekiness that defies you to knock the battery off their shoulder like some Robert Conrad commercial (he of my favorite show as a yute-Wild, Wild, West-now colorized) to call their bluff-is of such a puzzling satisfaction to these type people that it is a topic for the medical industry-psychiatry, but a clear and present danger when executed as part of a government administration.
So it was that with rumors circulating slowly like a waning-or growing campfire in the swamp, we see future “talent” emerge in the form of State Department spokesperson Victoria Nuland, who in February 2013 responded to inquiries about reported discussions by flatly denying any “direct, secret bilateral talks with Iran.”
The LSMBTG would take that like a man at face value-but by now would have received the first of several loads of manure in the form of the “narrative” for the new crop of lies from Rhodes and were at the ready to distribute it. Not only with “chalk”-basic stories to dispute and debunk any and all claims that such a thing was going on-an obvious right wing conspiracy theory. But more importantly to present the converse or reasonable side of the argument that laid out some teasers to pave the way to making the thing they were “flatly denying” -in that sanctimonious swampy tone of the righteously indignant (how dare you)-a little more palatable-to set the stage to consider how exciting a future dialogue might be with the moderates emerging in Tehran should any possible dialogues possibly emerge in the possible future should they possibly be arranged-well-possibly in the future (winky, winky-barf bag aisle 7, please.)
So, republicans, bad, no discussion ongoing-but should the opportunity present itself, humma, humma, and winky, winky, we want to be ready. And we should never be unwilling to take steps to secure the peace where it involves nuclear capability and peace initiatives for the future of our children, no matter what gender they choose, humma, humma, George Bush bad man, left us with no dialogue, thousand points of light, WH roof needed replacing, humma, humma….
The question swatted away like so much lint off her shoulder by Nuland-on behalf of the US government-followed months of low-level rumblings around the swamp about rumors of an administration Iran dialogue that would not abate. Within the swamp (above article):
Republicans on Capitol Hill were nervous about the rumors, but the media was willing to accept the State Department’s denial. The secret negotiations with Iran also alarmed America’s allies in Jerusalem, who had also been kept in the dark about their closest ally’s clandestine meetings with their most potent adversary.
I don’t consider myself a conspiracy theorist-although I will slip those fuzzy slippers on from time to time to try them out-but what would the impact have been on the 2012 election had the American people known that Obama had undertaken a secret and surreptitious dialogue with Iran-and deliberately kept all entities within our government who should have been consulted or at least advised about the initiative in the dark: Including our ally, Israel?
At the least it would have been revealing that our wunderkind president-a constitutional scholar, no less-was willing to do whatever it takes-the American people be damned-congress (phfffft…,) Israel, our military being blown to bits by Iranian IEDs in Iraq: he apparently could give two poops less about any or all of that or his obligations in pursuit of his priorities.
