The Shot Heard Round the World

In parts 1-6 I walked through a number of DOJ and FBI malfeasances that have been ongoing for as long as these government agencies have existed: it’s not new “news.” What is new is the removal of the veneer of legitimacy regarding their actions-as if somebody or some entity gave them some carte blanche token or pass to do whatever it takes-that the end justifies the means. These agencies have been consistently led by leaders who took to this mode of operation like junkies to the needle, singing for their supper in support of their political masters through acts, actions, efforts and operations without regard to the legality or the harm such actions portended for their reputation in the law enforcement realm and those enemies they went after.

Among the “events” I cited were some reckless, irresponsible, murderous actions such as Ruby Ridge and Waco, where way over the top force was used in cases that could have been handled much differently: my criteria here is when innocents are killed in the pursuit of questionable, murky and poorly executed operations.

Think of the stink that was caused when border patrol agents on horseback-necessitated by the rugged terrain-came to national attention over the hysteria fanned lunacy that they were “whipping” illegal aliens. They weren’t shooting at the illegals, they weren’t murdering them, -and they sure as hell weren’t whipping them. But they did use rough and abusive language: OMG!

I believe the worst, most egregious case of FBI malfeasance up to recent times was the prosecution where false charges were brought to end the career of Senator Ted Stevens in 2008. The lawlessness and injustice done to a man who committed his life to this country via service in World War II and his tenure in the senate was disgusting. I have a theory on why he was targeted that I will cover in a future article, but I caveat that statement with “up to recent times” because what was done to career Army officer LTG Michael Flynn was at least as bad, if not worse: and that was instigated by a sitting president who the DNI would later throw under the bus (Nuremburg Defense.)

What was done to candidate Trump-which was a whole of government collusion that I believe was led out of the Obama White House-and then to nominative candidate Trump and President Trump-was far worse. The conspirators who colluded to take him down-which was a bona fide coup attempt-should be brought up on sedition charges: there is no statute of limitations-every single last one of them. These people have to be held accountable for our system to survive.

With the Michigan Governor kidnapping plot-another botched FBI operation-, we have one of the all-time Keystone Cops poster child exemplars of malfeasance that would be laughable if it wasn’t so serious, timed as an October surprise of magnificent proportions to smear the sitting President of the United States: that just takes about all of the chutzpah in the jar.

Tucker Carlson recently detailed what makes this FBI led attack so egregious-it’s definitely worth a watch-but what has become glaringly apparent is that the only ones interested in pursuing an action whose objective was to do a (faux) terrorist action just in time for the 2020 election was the FBI: none of the supposed “terrorists” had the desire, talent, skills, will, or intention to harm the governor.

But that action went off so well in the minds of the FBI-October surprise delivered, the sitting President was smeared in a way that would prove impossible to defend against a mere month from the 2020 election-so it was such a perfect action that the Detroit, Michigan FBI Field Office Chief-Steven M D’antuono-was given a promotion and moved to head the Washington DC Field Office and was later placed in charge of the January 6, 2021 demonstration/riot that the FBI publicly announced had none of the hallmarks of an “insurrection.”

A lot of similarities have emerged in the last several months between the Michigan Governor kidnapping plot and the “coincidences” that occurred on 6 Jan 2021. This American Thinker article has a fascinating piece that walks through many of them and provides the following:

Dan Chappel testified Monday and Tuesday in Adam Fox and Barry Croft Jr.’s retrial for the alleged kidnapping plot. He said the FBI specifically asked state police to allow armed protesters into the state Capitol for de-escalation purposes in the protest, which he attended with Wolverine Watchmen militia members during his informant tenure, Bensinger reported. (Emphasis mine.)

At the height of what was reported as a dangerous and out of control situation at the Michigan Capital the FBI advised this action be taken by the Michigan State Police: that seems like a bold move given the caveat that it was “armed protestors.”

No Pipe bombs were found in Michigan by the state capital. So the security teams had not been diluted or diverted to other matters like was the case at the US Capital. And yet with an evacuation of the capital underway to safeguard congress in light of pipe bombs being found at the DNC and RNC HQs-within three blocks-the Capital Police suddenly let protestors in with somewhat of a reportedly half-hearted warning not to break or damage anything-and most didn’t.

That just seems incredibly risky given the emerging tactical situation on the ground. The only way such an action would take place under any prevailing security procedures-under a heightened security situation where the congress was being evacuated- is if those in charge of security were confident that there was no true threat related to the possibility of any additional bombs or explosive device risk (Occam’s Razor) in allowing this crowd into the capital: nothing else makes any sense.

Congress must get to the bottom of this-and not through some Kangaroo Court, Stasi-like one party presentation of the facts that is the furthest thing from our justice system imaginable.

If we were to take the Michigan Terrorist plot conducted by the FBI-and follow the same procedures, only placed under the jurisdiction of the ongoing 6 Jan Insurrection Committee, none of the facts that exposed the FBI malfeasance would have come out: none.

Our legal and justice system’s whole basis is the concept of adversarial litigants. This doesn’t just make a mockery of our congress and our justice system, but also any sense of fairness and justice for those individuals who were set up by this ruse, who did nothing more than happen to be by a door when it opened, and they were invited in by the Capital Police. They had no idea that because of the choreography of the barrier teams with the timing of the pipe bomb discovery, they were already inside what had been declared a “restricted zone.”

We can talk about this forever, but the system we have in place must kick-in to remedy this injustice, starting with the release of all evidence from the Jan 6 activity and an independent entity-or a true bi-partisan commission established to review the facts.

These inappropriate, illegal and unconscionable efforts by the FBI and the DOJ must be stopped. I believe events like this keep happening because nobody is ever held accountable-if they are viewed to be on the “right side.” Much of this angst can be traced by the blunting of legitimate oversight actions by congress. If there is one exemplar to tout of this malfeasance in action it is Fast and Furious. When congress held AG Holder in contempt after he refused to come clean on the operation, Obama-who had insisted the white house was not involved and was unwitting of this action, reacted by declaring executive authority over all related material. Neither Holder-nor the administration-was ever held accountable for this action that still occasionally emerges in actions as Mexican authorities continue to find these weapons at the scene of murders by the cartels.

Can you argue that congress would have done the same under Trump?

We can tell these stories all day long, but there is only one remedy available to fix these problems: the oversight role of congress. I previously mentioned the Church Commission effort to hold the intelligence community responsible.

Former congressman Ron Paul has been pointing out malfeasance with federal agencies since he first came to public notice, covered in this The Political Insider article. In many of these instances you can blame the left, socialist democrat politicians-who think it is noble or virtuous or kind to overlook certain crimes as part of their signaling or compassion or as some measure of “sticking it to the man”-whatever in their estimation and social religion that means. When this happens and it becomes the party in power overlooking crimes and not holding people accountable, our system relies on the ebb and flow of the instruments of power via control of the government-to remedy these problems.

You can argue the point from either side of the aisle, with it being difficult to separate congressional oversight from harassment-and payback. Consider that abusive oversight was pursued against myriad Trump associates in an attempt to find something that could be used against him, resulting in many of those caught in that farcical Russia, Russia, Russia hoax hiding in plain sight being driven to near bankruptcy in pursuit of a debunked political campaign disgrace undertaken to undermine Trump. There is a 75-year-old business associate of Trump in NYC who is about to be sentenced-unless he turns states evidence-because he failed to pay taxes on the use of a car and an apartment while employed by Trump: a 75-year-old-dangerous man.

AG Barr was held in contempt of congress in what appeared to be a crass payback for what was done to AG Holder, but the details of that effort speak to political theater, pomp, and playing to a base, whereas Fast and Furious was malfeasance of the highest order by our government that resulted in people being murdered with the guns our government allowed the cartel and drug dealers to have, including Border Agent Brian Terry. Trump’s impeachment(s) were similarly political theater of the absurd paybacks-of a sort for Clinton (from some views.)

The most effective oversight tool available to the congress is the power of the purse. Government agencies can hem, haw, play hide the bologna and not produce needed documents or people-with little fear of ramifications-when the congress and the president are aligned: and that is a sorry state of affairs. In the case of something like Fast and Furious it is a stain on our system that the government was not held accountable for this illegal act. What prevented democrats from teaming with republicans to force the administration to come clean on this issue?

While the budget is the most powerful tool available to congress-and it shouldn’t be-but how do you make agencies that are being covered by administrations come to congress and explain in satisfactory terms the policies they have in place and how they implement and execute them? What do you do when they just flat out lie or refuse to cooperate? Short of bi-partisan consensus-a rarity-you have to have the majority. With a 50-50 senate right now there appears to be nothing stopping oversight from happening-the tie break applies to legislation-the senate is evenly divided.

Some of the more powerful elements of congress should put placeholders on budget execution-starting in fiscal year 2023-on administration officials and their agencies who have been blowing off congress and have failed to provide requested information. Just for starters, the House and Senate Armed Services Committees should put a significant hold on the Defense Budget until they receive answers on American Citizen status in Afghanistan, as well as the planning documents used to accomplish the evacuation.

The Pentagon has a big budget-and they have not been forthright in answering congress. A serious hold on a 4–10-Billion-dollar agency is on the order of 50-250 Million: I would make it at least 5 billion to get their attention-maybe 10-and keep up the pressure with specific deadlines timed to specific dates.

The House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence and Senate Select Committee on Intelligence should do the same for the DNI and the IC elements they manage, particularly the CIA and FBI, as well as NSA: somewhere over a billion would be enough to get their attention-but I would opt for at least 3 or 5 B (2B on the DNI, one each on CIA, FBI, NSA.)

The House and Senate Budget Committees would be the clearing houses for these actions. I don’t want to go through every committee in congress with this recommendation-I think that’s enough to demonstrate the tactic that needs to be taken. But with 200 committees or so in congress-they can keep the agencies up at night answering questions when they desire to do so-and it almost pains me to see things devolve to the level where I am advocating congressional oversight-harassment-of administrations-but this is a “goose and a gander” issue.

If you don’t think such action is warranted, review some of the testimony given by the Pentagon, State Department, Department of Homeland Security, Energy or Transportation Secretary-any of them. They are stiff arming congress in their oversight role-the administration is-if not encouraging these actions, at the very least they are complicit in not making their cabinet officers answer the prep questions of the committees and come prepared with facts regarding the operation of our government.

DHS Mayorkas is the most insufferable of the lot-who can’t describe in terms of numbers what is going on at our Southern border-but he does know his top priority is “equity.” And they are still sending illegals to cities throughout the US with little to no notice or any of the ID or flight restrictions that apply to citizens.

What can we-you-me-do? Write your elected officials. This isn’t about Trump-it is about our government’s actions and the issue of transparency, competency, the commitment of illegalities and lying to the American people.

With what has gone on with the southern border, elections, targeting parents speaking out at school boards, juvenile gender and abortion policy, Michigan FBI plot, the scheming and colluding of the 6 Jan 2021 pipe bomb hoax, the subsequent treatment of political prisoners from those actions, the failure to hold HRC accountable for her actions, yes-all the Trump orbit officials who were pursued like criminals by the swamp to get Trump—also Trump himself-but malfeasance in Afghanistan, the fentanyl death uptick in 2021, COVID ridiculousness in light of recent vaccine revelations, the tanking of military recruiting because of idjiot racist witch hunts, gender and COVID stupidity, the ridiculous disregard for spending of our taxpayer dollars-Ukraine, IRS hires, climate stupidity, Hunter’s laptop and the failure to follow up by the FBI, the failure to hold any of the people responsible for DOJ and FBI “shenanigans” over the last several decades-the list is endless.

Congress has a process to respond to constituent’s requests. It goes without saying it should be constructive, polite and use somewhat of logical approach to get to something you want them to answer. Most are responsive and prompt to constituents-but I have heard of the opposite happening.

The US needs to move away from a congress that only reacts to problems when it is viewed as the other side’s problem and an opportunity to make political hay.

This has to be fixed going forward. And I went the entire article without mentioning election fraud (are you familiar with MONGO DB-an In-Q-TEL project?)

  1. Excellent commentary. Concise and to the point. Thanks for the prod to contact the legislators. I will definitely start doing that – if we don’t express our dissatisfaction they will think it is acceptance.

  2. Thanks for reading. Nothing gets attention from congress faster that input from their constituents. They can ignore one or two voices in the wilderness-but thousands-tens of thousands of emails or notes-impossible to ignore. Even the simple inquiry focused on the incongruity of the events that day in the capital and the mistreatment of Americans in the gulag that is the swamp-DC-that followed–it is unconscionable treatment of our fellow Americans. I also info’d Louie Gohmert, Marjorie Taylor Greene, Matt Gaetz-as well as our Colorado contingent-they seem to be the only ones interested in justice.
