Thanksgiving and American Exceptionalism

The United States of America is the exception, not the rule. Once we realize that America is an exception, we might even have a sense of gratitude for having been born here, even if gratitude  has become un-cool in many quarters.

-Thomas Sowell

Happy Thanksgiving American Free News Network! We have come a long way from being a few settlements clinging precariously to the edge of an unexplored wilderness. We have come a long way from the Pilgrims at Plymouth Massachusetts. There, 45 out of 102 settlers perished the first winter…nearly half! When the survivors gathered to celebrate a successful harvest in November of 1621, only 53 Settlers remained alive.

We have indeed come a long way and like those early immigrants, we have much to be grateful for, not the least of which is the intrepidity of those brave men and women.

As we celebrate this Thanksgiving with friends and family, always be cognizant of the brave men and women who have gone before us and those who even today, stand watch at lonely outposts throughout the world.

Thank You to all the great writers at American Free News Network…and to all of you who support our efforts.

Adam Selene.
