How strangely will the Tools of a Tyrant pervert the plain Meaning of Words! – Samuel Adams

Ambrose Bierce was a nineteenth-century “American newspaperman, wit, satirist, and author of sardonic short stories based on themes of death and horror.” One of his best works was The Devil’s Dictionary, which is a list of satirical definitions for commonly used words. Here are a couple of examples:

 

 

ACTOR n. One who peddles ready-made emotion, and who, despising us for the qualities upon which he feeds, is by us despised for the unwholesome character of his diet.

NOMINEE, n. A modest gentleman shrinking from the distinction of private life and diligently seeking the honorable obscurity of public office.

NON-COMBATANT, n. A dead Quaker.

PARTISAN, n. An adherent without sense.

POLITICIAN, n. An eel in the fundamental mud upon which the superstructure of organized society is reared. When he wriggles he mistakes the agitation of his tail for the trembling of the edifice. As compared with the statesman, he suffers the disadvantage of being alive.

Bierce did the rest of us a true service by deciphering the true meanings of words, as the English language is continually being corrupted and misused by scurrilous people. Perhaps the most scurrilous of the lot are the Marxists who delight in concocting words and phrases that sound good when spoken but in reality obfuscate the intentional evil behind the words. Everything to the Godless Marxists is political, and that includes perverting the English language to further their political ends.

And being the good little Marxists that Democrats are, they have taken a page from Marxist dialectics in creating a whole raft of nonsensical words and phrases to hide their totalitarian policy objectives, as well as to try to fool people into believing that they have the “true interests” of the people in mind in everything they do. And of course, nothing could be further from the truth, as perversion of the language is a political tool of totalitarians, as Samuel Adams said.

The Democrats have been hard at work bastardizing the English language for their political use. It is time to decipher the true meanings of some of their words and phrases as Ambrose Bierce might have done in adding to his Devil’s Dictionary.

Abortion is healthcare. It is okay to kill your kid because it’s “just a medical procedure.”

Affirmative action. Institutionalized racism implemented through the force of government.

Affordable Care Act. Socialized medicine delivered at the efficiency and speed of the Dept of Motor Vehicles; one of the first steps toward a totalitarian state.

American Rescue Plan Act. Taxpayer theft targeted at funding Democrat constituencies disguised as “COVID relief.”

Benefits. A rose by any other name is still welfare.

Bipartisanship. A ruse employed by Democrats to place public pressure on conservatives to cave to Democrat priorities.

Birthing people. Direct biological descendants of Eve, also known as women.

Capitalism. A word concocted by Karl Marx to denigrate free market economics.

Class warfare (subtitle: bourgeoisie). Marxist phrases used to pit groups of people against each other to advance Marxist class theory and societal change. A root cause of divisiveness between people intended to exploit Envy (one of the most important of the Seven Deadly Sins).

Climate change (formerly “global warming”). The ruse by which science has been corrupted in order for socialists to gain control of the economy. A psychological phrase that cannot be disputed because the climate always changes.

Critical theory. A concoction that sounds scholarly but represents crackpot Marxist social theories that critique society in order to implement changes leading to a totalitarian society.

Diversity. A word that camouflages divisiveness by pitting racial groups against each other. The opposite of assimilation, which is one America’s greatest strengths. Can only be measured by quotas. Diversity of thought is not allowed.

Existentialism. The analysis of thinking, feeling, and acting that is only what is acceptable on the Left’s terms. Society that functions on Democrat terms only.

Free healthcare. Somebody else pays for medical bills – ultimately, the taxpayer or other third parties, as laundered through the bureaucracy.

Gay. A word contrived in the late 1960s to help legitimize homosexualism.

Gender confirmation surgery. Medical procedures aimed a camouflaging one’s biological sex. A condoning of mental disorders by medical practitioners.

Green New Deal. An unjustifiable and uneconomical farce being perpetrated on American and the world by socialists aiming to control the world’s economy.

Intersectionalism. An early Marxist witch’s brew aimed at the study of discrimination and privilege associated with class theory. A body of claptrap that has morphed into other social theories aimed at dividing society and pitting people against each other.

Mandates. Government requirements implemented without the consent of the people, frequently made to Democrat constituencies at the expense of taxpayers.

Migrant workers. A perversion that the Left uses for “illegal immigrants.” In a modern perversion of the word, migrant workers never return to their countries of origin.

New normal. An excuse given by Democrats when their policies fail. “Like it or lump it” is the correct definition, as we are expected to “get used to it.”

Our democracy. A phrase endlessly repeated but never defined by Democrats that is intended to brainwash people about the American political system, which is not a democracy but rather a constitutional republic. If we lived in a pure democracy (which is what the Democrat Party effectively advocates by their continuing efforts to undermine the checks and balances placed in the Constitution by the Founders), we would be experiencing the “tyranny of the majority.”

Overseas contingency operation. A euphemism intended to justify endless wars through undefined goals and mission success and exit criteria, with the exemplar being the 20-year war in Afghanistan.

Pandemic refugees. Illegal immigrants crossing the US-Mexican border that was opened wide by The Hologram. A phrase intended to generate sympathy among American citizens.

Perception managers. Liars, prevaricators, agit-prop purveyors, knaves, and thieves who spin reality falsely on behalf of the Left/Democrat Party.

Reproductive freedom. Murder of children by choice.

Requirements for access. The Left’s new phrase for mandates, applied specifically to COVID vaccinations without which “access” to businesses and services will be denied by the totalitarians.

Same-sex marriage. A leftwing social convention that is a sin against God and Man.

Shared future. A favorite Democrat phrase that is meaningless but sounds good when uttered, as the future is always “shared” with those living. Used to propagandize in favor of Democrat legislation and policies, as in, “XYZ will enable our shared future.”

Social justice. A Marxist totalitarian concept aimed at rearranging society in favor of minorities and the perceived disadvantaged at the expense of “the privileged.” Arbitrary and undemocratic; cannot be achieved without the power of the government.

Social Security. A government-run Ponzi scheme that provides welfare to the aged.

Sustainability. A word used by enviro-socialists that purports to examine policies balanced among the environment, equity, and the economy. A totally arbitrary – albeit pleasant-sounding – concept that can only be achieved through totalitarian government action. The Green New Deal is supposedly “sustainable” – without evidence.

Undocumented workers. One of the original phrases used by Democrats to soften the stigma of the correct characterization, “illegal aliens.” Criminal aliens in violation of US immigration law.

Working Americans. A euphemism endlessly repeated by Democrats that is a wink and a nod to blue-collar Americans and other Democrat constituencies, implying that only blue-collar Americans actually “work.” The intent is to convey that the Democrat Party is for “working people” and not the nouveau rich.

Conclusion. The above is merely a starter list of words and phrases that have been corrupted by the Left in recent years to mask their true meanings. There are dozens and dozens more that could be added. To put their word perversions in terms of a virus-related concept that we have learned in recent months, we are victims of gain of function manipulations in language that are imposed virally in public usage that are supposedly to enforce and reinforce civic actions and policies that Democrats deem to be important. Every phrase spoken by Democrats requires translation into plain language in order to understand true meaning and intentions. Democrat-speak needs to be deciphered with each public utterance made, as their underlying premises are Marxist to the bone and decidedly not for the benefit of American citizens.
