The Possibility of Meeting Alien Life

I always enjoy the conversation about if aliens exist and what will happen as part of the interactions between species.

First, I believe that there is life all over in the universe, on almost any planet which has liquid water. I think that some percentage of that life has evolved to become intelligent at least at or beyond the level that we are at now. I don’t believe that any of that intelligent life has, is or ever will travel across the vast spaces between stars to reach Earth nor will Humans ever travel to their planets of origin. The reasons that I base that belief upon are the laws of physics and the many impediments imposed by those distances. The math says that it is possible, but what is possible and what is feasible are two very different things.

I suspect that if there is contact between the two species that the most probable “first encounter” scenario is our robotic deep space probe bumping into their robotic deep space probe. Our “first conversations” will be limited to the dated technology of said robotic vehicles. It is less likely our newest tech will be communicating to their newest tech. It will likely be two archaic outdated robots with two intelligent species trying to use what little the robot has to offer communication. More likely is that a “second contact” would be far more successful as known coordinates will offer both species to send our latest and greatest.

Just a thought based on observations:The worst thing that could happen is, if we were to meet aliens from somewhere from outer space. I give you the short version why: What did more advanced humans do on planet Earth? Right! They colonized the less advanced. So any aliens that make it through space here are obviously far more advanced than we are and you can extrapolate from there what the outcome will be eventually.

Just look at the saber rattling and world domination desires of the Chinese these days. Aside from the inherent dangers of life on this bug, microbe and virus infested dirt planet and as creatures ourselves no less full of microbes, vs. whatever other life form from outer space, could be quite devastatingly fatal for both.

Last but not least, what if these aliens are plant-based organisms who have a carnivorous appetite? Then again they could be also, like we so often envision, aliens there are cold-blooded reptilians. Not far-fetched at all. Back in the late Cretaceous epoch, when dinosaurs roamed, the velociraptors emerged already as more advanced exhibiting some form of intelligence when hunting.

Were it not for that big asteroid that stopped and rebooted all life, fast-forward some 60 million years and the dominant species could have evolved instead of human mammals into some very adaptable slick and intelligent upright walking reptiles. Not so far-fetched, especially when you consider that this is our human fantasy image about aliens to begin with!
