In 2016 I wrote “Evangelicals for Trump” is like “Christians for the Lions or Gladiators”. I said Evangelicals were voting for Trump out of anger. Yet, I too, voted for Trump in 2016 and 2020, but not out of anger. Simply to keep the Democrat Commies out of power. Now, I won’t vote for Trump in 2024. The Commies can be partially restrained by the Senate and free States. I’m just not going to vote for a Barrabas. Nor will I try to return a Saul to power.
My 2016 writing rings true in 2024, “Anger trumps reason. Emotion overrides intellect in voting – always. The rage against Republicans, The Establishment (R and D), and the absence of a public presence on so many issues – made Trump the champion for millions of voiceless Americans. Including millions of Evangelicals. I get the rage. I feel its burning. But, Evangelicals shouldn’t let rage become blind rage.
Yes, I understand how much you hate the “Romans”. Hold true, righteous anger. But, it’s wrong to be in a mob screaming insanely to free Barabbas – so he might kill more Romans, when a better man stands ready to serve.”
Okay, no candidate compares to Jesus. So, the choice isn’t Messiah vs. Murderer.
However, the choice between DeSantis and Trump is the clear distinction between honor and grift, selfless service and super narcissism, veteran and draft dodger, principled Conservative and adulterer panderer, Constitutional champion and reality show huckster, successful governor and incompetent governance, articulate grownup and name-calling, childish boor. These comparisons go on and on.
It’s more like choosing King Saul when young David has reached his manhood. Yes, bad Saul could have been used (note the verb tense) for the Lord’s sovereign Will, just as Trump might have been there to stop the corrupt and evil HRH Hilary I. Then, the Biden win, with help from legal and illegal ballot harvesting in 5 metro areas of 5 swing states, allowed Americans to see how badly Government can screw up everything it does – in the wrong hands. Clearly, after all that it’s time for Saul to go away. Let David rule to serve.
But, DeSantis suspended his campaign.
And, DeSantis said Trump wouldn’t bow out of the election as his legal troubles mount, even for the good of the country.
Right, because Trump is all about Trump. And there are enough Trump-minded Conservatives and Trump-blinded Cult members to keep Trump the nominee at a contested RNC convention. Got it, DeSantis is out for 2024.
So Trump becomes the nominee and the Republicans lose POTUS and the House and, possibly, the Senate. We’re back to Obama in power in 2009, but the Democrat Commies have become much more ruthless in the pursuit of power by any means possible and see their political enemies as the Bolsheviks did. Remember how that worked out?
So, what’s an Evangelical supposed to do?
First, read your Bible. Then, do NOT support Trump. Vote as Conservatively as you can down ballot.
To whom does this apply – “The Lord detests all the proud of heart”? (Prov 16:5) Both Biden or his replacement and Trump? Then don’t vote for either.
“There are six things the Lord hates, seven that are detestable to him.” (Prov 6:16) Including “haughty eyes”, “lying tongue”, “a heart that devises schemes”, and “a man who stirs up dissension among brothers”.
So, what is the Evangelical case for Trump?
There isn’t one.
There’s the hope that others in his Administration will do rightly. Fat chance. His sycophants and grifters will go through a thorough screening to serve Trump and Trump alone.
All the Evangelical Christian leaders, like Franklin Graham and Robert Jeffries who have wonderful ministries, are going to regret any association with Trump.
I beg Evangelicals for Trump to read The Word and let the scales fall from their eyes.
Consider the difference if the Commies can have total power in 2024 with a Trump loss or in 2028 after Trump.
- The Senate or the Free States can hobble the Commies enough to keep the Republic until the Illegal Alien invasion angers enough Americans to give Congress and the White House to a Conservative champion, a Ronald Reagan 2.0++ – Ron DeSantis – in 2028.
- The Commie-controlled Congress keeps Trump tied up until they can get full power in 2028.Then, they add the illegal aliens to the 2030 Census and register enough of them to vote to hold power for the foreseeable future. America as we know it is over or breaks into civil war – again.
Evangelicals must trust in the Lord. Period.

The Lord isn’t on the ballot. A sinful man who knows how to do the right thing and corrupt man who will never to the right thing are on the ballot instead. A non-vote is a vote for Biden and more evil. It is you who has the blinders on. It is you who has the scales over your eyes. Trump’s best choice for VP is DeSantis, no doubt. That would usher in 12 years of conservative rule and the rule of law from the Oval Office. Quit telling evangelicals to let evil win. That’s hardly a Godly or Biblical strategy.
We disagree.
Trump is incompetent as well as being an inveterate liar. A non-vote is not a vote. It’s one less for what it takes to make a majority. See, I helped.
Evil wins either way with those two because a Trump win sets up a Commie win in 2028 which is essential before the 2030 census. Trump has been losing elections for Republicans like Obama did for Democrats.
I’m encouraging Evangelicals to not inappropriately associate their faith in any failed man who embarrass them and make them a “stumbling stone” for others.
If you see Donald Trump as Barrabas, then Joe Biden would Beelzebub!
The very sinful Mr Trump also gave us, during his four years in office, three Supreme Court Justices who helped overturn Roe v Wade, serious restrictions at the border which greatly reduced — sadly, not eliminated — illegal immigration, treated all American citizens equally, rather than supporting Affirmative Action of ‘DEI,’ strengthened our military, and many other things which were good for America.
David was a great king of Israel, and a man devout and faithful to God, but he also had Uriah killed so that he could steal his wife Bathsheba, and had executed the soldier who put King Saul out of his misery, at Saul’s request, because the young soldier had killed a king who was already suffering from a mortal wound. (2 Samuel 1:5-15)
Donald Trump is not David, and he is not St Paul. He is an awful man, personally, a liar and an adulterer. But what he has done for the United States has been mostly what has been best for the United States.
Trump got the judges. A temporary tax cut, moved the Embassy to Jerusalem. Roger. All good things. He failed in many other efforts. His time has past.
David did many terrible things. Agreed.
Ron DeSantis is Ronald Reagan 2.o++ That’s why I support him.
