Abolitionist Republican

The Republican Party was birthed by Abolitionists who refused to compromise on slavery. They left the Northern Whigs who always compromised. Today, career politician Establishment Republicans always compromise or collaborate cheerfully. Their votes and budgets make a lie of their campaigns as “Republicans” and “Conservatives”. Career politicians made those labels utterly meaningless. Conversely, the Democrats …

Islam Out!

America at 250 years experienced epochal transitions from a Frontier to Agricultural to Industrial to (first-iteration) Post-Industrial society, from colonies to nation-state to world power and empire to super-power to global uber-super-power, economic crises, wars, and its terrible civil war of national definition in the War Between the States. Concurrently, each century had a paramount issue of national definition.

U.S. Army at 250 Plus One

The United States of America is 250 years old this year, because for the year before, the U.S. Army (The Continental Line) was in the field fighting for freedom. This Nation forged by war is remarkably un-militaristic. Yet, the free-thinking, independent, faithfully Christian, rowdy half the country is fiercely pro-military. Freedom-loving Americans expect the well-disciplined, tightly run Army to be the best in the world and stay in their lane. Fight wars and win.

More Memorials Done Than Memories To Come

West Point

My USMA Class of 1972 had it’s annual Mini-Reunion this week in Louisville, KY. Every five years we have the official one at West Point. We’ve gone to different spots around the U.S.A. since 2013, with only one Covid Krazy blip. I started the Memorial Service as part of our time together in Williamsburg VA …

Simple, Complex, Simple

Think about almost anything…The first thought is simple.  Then, if you keep thinking and studying, layers of complexity with expanding horizons, exponential new factors, and conflicting facts appear.

The first thought is simple.  Then, if you keep thinking and studying, layers of complexity with expanding horizons, exponential new factors, and conflicting facts appear.  Yet, after more thought and study, the holistic conclusion is simple.  A few words very loaded with meaning suffice.

American Is a Creed++

Define American. Is it any person on planet Earth resides in the U.S. who simply shares a set of ideas – an American Creed? Or, is based on “blood and soil” connections by birth and ancestry? It definitely isn’t the Ethno-nationalism of a “Whites Only” America, because our America became multi-racial in 1619 when English …

Betwixt and Between

America is betwixt and between more things than you can shake a stick at.  The conflict with Iran is on the front burner.  Every election cycle at every level is another contest worth winning.  Every institution – Government, Business, Education, Media, Arts and Entertainment, Religion, and Family is caught in the crossfire of a No Mans Lands in the Great U.S. Culture War.  That’s the struggle against Cultural Marxism and it’s new, best ally – Islamist Totalitarianism.

Jesus’s Church in 2026!

After the 50th Wedding Anniversary celebrations for a Classmate and his wife in Florida, another Classmate and I went to church with them before we left for home.  It was another Evangelical church on fire for the Lord Jesus Christ!  So much so that they are planting another church about 15 minutes away.  On their own.  No help from any church hierarchy or authority.

Happy Easter 2026!

Usually, Sunday is when I pen (actually peck out) my weekly Op Ed.  What else should be written on Easter, other than Easter?  It’s the singularly greatest event since the creation of the Universe.  The point in time and space when the Creator of the Universe reconciled His created beings to Himself.  The Creator becoming one of his creations in the Incarnation is huge, but not as big as the Resurrection.

Good News for American Evangelical Protestants

Church

There’s always good news for Bible-based Evangelicals in the Good News of Lord Jesus Christ.  His Resurrection is celebrated every Sunday.  And, there’s good news in numbers, despite the gloom and doom data painting a Post-Christian America and death spiral for Western Civilization.  Bible-based Evangelical Protestants are growing – not as much as non-Believers and way less than possible, but growing.  Growing is good.
