After Trump’s First Conviction

Emotions run high on both sides after the first trial and conviction of an ex-President and a presumptive Presidential nominee.  There are two more trials in the queue.  The Federal case is the most damning one.  All three trials are lawfare.  All are political.  Their very existence points to failings in the legal system and profession of law.  Their ultimate danger is the destruction of the Rule of Law.

The Rule of Law is what makes the American freedom, opportunity, and safety bubble inside the English-Speaking Peoples bubble inside the Western Civilization bubble so special.  So essential.  Fundamental.  Sine qua non.

The Rule of Law promotes fairness, equality, dignity for the individual, and peace.  It doesn’t promise justice but produces more justice than any other system in history.  The Rule of Law means what is written rules, not what men and women say.

That’s been violated many times in American history.  But the violations stand out as wrongs.  Not as the status quo. 

The Covid tyranny of making up edicts enforced like law, the Jan. 6 persecutions for folks just walking inside the rope lines and taking selfies, and Trump trials are the egregious abuses of the Rule of Law.  While lawfare might be lawful, it is destructive to the Rule of Law, because it destroys the underlying principle of fairness from English Common Law. 

Unfortunately, there is no self-correcting mechanism.  When a state is so infected with Cultural Marxism – formerly known as Liberalism – from ambulance chaser to state Supreme Court, where does a citizen get a fair shake?  When the American Bar Association goes goofy Lef,t and Law Schools are whole hog CEI/CRT Cultural Marxist, from where does reform come?

The Federal courts are a mixed bag of good jurists and bad jokes in robes.  If the Democrats get enough illegal aliens to vote D, the relatively Conservative common-sense judges will be replaced by black-robed priest-kings who could fit in either a NAZI, Stalinist, or Kangaroo court with ease.

Seriously, forget Trump for a second.  His cases highlight a collapsing Rule of Law.  Just as the college pro-Hamas demonstrations and raging anti-Semitism illustrate failures in Education as an institution, Trump’s trials are symbolic of failures in the Law as an institution.  Both institutions are dying from the cancer of Cultural Marxism.

The bottom-up fix is from the voters.  Not happening in Blue states. The top-down fix comes with a President and Attorney General, with the support of a friendly Congress, using every lever of federal power against rogues and reprobates throughout the legal profession.  The outside-in competition to fix or make it worse is the funding for prosecutors and judges in elections.

Aside from the Rule of Law, the political implications are playing out as many, including yours truly, forecast when the indictments came out last year. 

The Presidential election will be decided in 5 swing states.  The Democrat field offices are registering voters and, probably, illegal aliens now.  They legally and illegally will harvest votes.  If they put enough votes in the bank, then the Dems – Old slow Joe or his replacement – win.  If a real “Red wave” rises from the repeated failures of the Biden Administration, then enough independents could vote in Trump. 

In 2016, the Democrat baked in ballots were already in play.  The Dems (Commies) didn’t anticipate how many people hated and feared HRH Hillary 1.  The Commies didn’t make that mistake in 2020.  They’re unlikely to make it in 2024.  

If Trump wasn’t Trump, he would step aside.  An open convention could nominate Ron DeSantis.  DeSantis could overcome the ballot harvesting.  But it won’t happen because Trump is the super-uber narcissist, who can’t put anything above himself.  Trump couldn’t deliver a Red Wave in 2022.  He’ll fail as well in 2024. 

Trump is incapable of restoring the Rule of Law.  He’ll be out for vengeance.

Without the Rule of Law, America is no better than a banana republic, no safer than in Human Secularist Totalitarian dictatorship, no freer than under Islamist Totalitarianism, less economic opportunities than European statist socialism. And, if Cultural Marxism grows, America slides from a Republic to the barbarism of tribalism.

The Rule of Law must be restored, reformed, enhanced, and improved.
